Random Cat from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sometimes I am forgetful. Sometimes I forget to post. Here is a photo of a cat from a local colony as payment for my forgetfulness. I'll have something crafty for tomorrow.

Playing... But Only a Little from Queen of the Unfinished Projects...

I spent the last week without water (for most practical purposes). We had a boiled water advisory. We've had a lot of those this summer. I am officially over it. This one was the longest so far and it just made me cranky.  I had the day off today (to take my daughter to an appointment) and I've spent most of the day trying to get caught up on laundry- and more importantly- dishes! Ugh!

After a week of no real cooking and no way to safely wash dishes (that didn't involve a lot more effort  than ...

List of Random Stuff from Queen of the Unfinished Projects...

I don't really have anything exciting going on today. Or this week, really. Just same old boring everyday yuck. So, a quick list of random, semi-related thoughts might have to tide us over for now.

 1. I am completely exhausted. Like, I'm always exhausted after a shift at my horrible job, but this last couple of weeks has just been so much worse.

 2. My feet and legs have decided they hurt too much to do anything else tonight. My chair is my best friend right now. I will not hobble from it until bedtime.

 3. I am ...

Table Scraps - A Table Topper from Gene Black an Alabama Artist

My "liberated quilting"  table topper is complete.  Because the top and the backing would need different thread colors for the binding,  I chose to hand sew the binding to the back.

I have to say that the binding looks a lot better than if I machine stitched it in place. This little quilted topper makes me really happy.  It ticks all the boxes.

Here is the finished piece, although it has not been in the wash yet.  That is my final step before I consider it "really ...

Forgetful Friday from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sadly, I don't have much to share today. It seems I forgot to take photos of my projects or write a blog post in advance.
I've been planning a new crochet project.
The daffodils are up in my front garden.
I went for a walk with my dog.
Make that two types of daffodil.

Happy Friday! Make something that makes you happy. I think of it as making happiness.

Bread from Queen of the Unfinished Projects...

This has absolutely nothing to do with books. This is mostly just random babbling. You have been warned.

I'm baking bread again today, and I'm remembering (although I have no idea why I'd want to) last spring when everything first closed down. I was running low on yeast and hadn't gotten around to restocking. Hadn't actually shopped for any staples in a while, truth be told. Suddenly, yeast was impossible to find. I had everyone I know looking for it. None of us was successful for months.

I'm still not clear on why there ...

Random Thoughts on a Wednesday... from Queen of the Unfinished Projects...

1. It is only Wednesday. :(

2. The weekend is not close enough.

3.  I really, really don't like waking up at 4am.

4.  It isn't getting any better as time goes on.

5.  It might be getting worse.

6.  I really need for my kids to let me sleep- afternoon naps or early bedtime. Or both. Both would be good.

7.  I have no clue what I should be blogging about today.

8. You already figured that out.

9. You actually had it figured out as soon as you started reading.  (It's okay to admit it. We ...

random bits . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

Can I tell you something?  Since I changed my comments to 'comment moderation, always' I sometimes forget to publish them to my blog.  Am I the only one?!?  Please tell me I'm not! LOL!

My son sent me this photo on Monday evening . . .
Frightening, no?  The tallest building (the Mazda Building) is where his company's suite of offices is.  He's been working remotely since March, so he's not there.  But they did have a group that was working onsite, and they were evacuated. I'm so glad they moved to Murrieta; before they made the move ...

Snuffle Mat from Becca's Crazy Projects

Somewhere I saw someone had made a snuffle mat, or mentioned one, and had to see what it was about. I found a tutorial by The Honest Kitchen so I decided to make one for my dog. First, I ordered this dish mat from Amazon. It cost about $6. The edges are a little curled because we put it through the dishwasher before I added the strips. It had a smell when it arrived.
I reached into my fleece scraps bin and cut a bunch of pieces roughly 1" wide by 6-7" long and sat down to make the snuffle ...
