The surgery went well! The surgeon called, the first recovery nurse called, the second recovery nurse called, and the pharmacy called! It was all pretty efficient, and I was on my way to pick DH up.
Maria, the second recovery nurse, was a lovely person, very thorough, and very helpful in understanding how the immobilizer brace fits on, how to help DH get dressed, etc. While she was finishing up a final round of meds, I was at the pharmacy getting educated on all the meds he would need for the next month. I brought home a pharmacy!
It took ...
read moreOh my! I haven't responded to the comments lately, but I hope to have a wee bit of downtime as I travel from city to city in the next couple of days, so I will attempt to make that happen. But oh boy -- the books! Yep -- if you introduce your children to books, you never know what they will dream up!
For those who signed up for the Spice Market class, YES—there is still room if you haven't signed up yet. My goal this morning is to make the distribution list and then send out a quick ...

No --- I don't think my phone is fixed, and if someone should call me and I happen to pick up, I'm on pins and needles for the conversation, expecting my voice to drop. read moreI have to say that I'm feeling rather lazy these days! Is it the heat? Is it the thought of returning to work with a BANG next week? Is it the looming deadlines? I'm sure it's a combination of all of the above.
So, while we had Monday sewing, I'm afraid I didn't accomplish much. I trimmed and put the binding on this table runner. I'm still up in the air about quilting the white border. I KNOW --- I do not need to add more quilting, but part of me feels like I NEED ...

read more Before I go gung ho on a new pattern (squirrel), I am trying to make samples so I can see if I like making it, like the way it looks, and anticipate any problems. Before, I used to jump right in. Trying to be mature. I collect patterns by browsing, mostly free one, but I do buy some and keep them in a clear envelope pocket by my cutting area and browse them regularly thinking of ideas and fabrics.
