It was a positively boring day yesterday! The third-level Microsoft support called, and she took about 5 minutes to poke around my Outlook setup, then decided it needed to be escalated to a higher level! Yikes!!! But Microsoft and Google don't seem to like talking to each other, and there's an issue with syncing. Now I understand why it takes so long for my email to sync - that's always been an issue, but I never thought much about it. If Microsoft is willing to spend time on it, I'm happy to oblige! I have another call ...

OH MY!!!!!! When I sit down to write the blog, I have to come up with a title, and some days that's a struggle because nothing super exciting happened. But there are days, like today, when I have many titles! I called it "The Best of both worlds," but "Happy Dance," "Exciting update," and "The email saga continues (part two)" would have worked as well.
It was a good news day all around, so I'm excited.
The knee update is all good. I did a short walk with the girls in the morning. While I feel perfectly fine ...
read moreAs I was lamenting the loss of my distribution lists with the sewing group, TWO people piped up that they keep theirs in Excel. Of course, both of these people are familiar with Excel from their working days. They were pretty adamant that I should use EXCEL to manage my lists.
WHAT? I do NOT get that. The issue is: why would I enter the darn lists twice (Outlook and Excel), which would require duplicate management? I already struggle with duplication. Some lists are needed year-round; others are temporary for my ongoing classes, which last about 9 months. Then those ...
read moreI'm struggling with a cold this week, so I'll keep this short. You all sure know how to make a girl smile. Just when I needed a little encouragement, you're there to answer the call. Nothing makes me happier than to see a post spark a conversation in the comment section like last week.
I think we can all agree to coin Julierose's phrase, "Wordy Person". I 100% represent that. If it has words involved, I'm in. I grew up playing word games, writing pretend newspapers and creating poetry. Not to mention I'm the ...
read moreThanks for the heads up on the links. I have to click each link twice to get the HTTPS thing at the beginning. I've been very careful, but perhaps I've slipped up on a couple. I will attempt to pay even more attention to that little detail!
I did not post about Colour My World yesterday, nor will I do it today. I'll aim for tomorrow. Today, it's all about the finishes!
I have hosted the UFO Club for over five years, and in that time, things have gotten done not only for me but for ...
read moreOH, I just realized that the title of yesterday's blog AND the first picture you see of a volcano erupting were perhaps a bit dramatic!! BUT getting that much work done in the office was dramatic!
I listened to this audiobook MANY years ago when I started my decluttering journey. I just checked my blog and the date was March 10, 2014!!!!! Well, I listened to it somewhere, and I suspect it was before I started because the first room I tackled was the bedroom, and that's the first room mentioned in the book. For the record, and ...
read moreOH OH OH !!!!! I had to laugh when I read Elle's comment this morning! YES --- tidying up a drawer or anything is a snap once the JUNK is gone. I'm shocked at how easy everything is to maintain in the areas where we have eliminated all the junk. By junk, that may be literally garbage that should be thrown away, or it may mean those things you no longer need or want. GET RID OF IT!!!
It takes a long time to get there, but once you do, the amount of FREE time you'll have will shock ...
read moreOH - I love the comments, and I need to ask a few more questions, so I'll be answering them this morning. I didn't get the reference to the matches in the bathroom? Am I missing something?
I got an email in the afternoon about one of my posts that said to call them because I might be going down the wrong path. Yikes!!! It concerned the vinyl we cut for the Terrifying Tower, which we're going to machine embroider in a couple of weeks.
Here is the picture and the wording that scared several of my savvy ...
read moreAs promised, here are the links to the journal cover tutorials I've written over the years. Note the date on these tutorials - July 2014. This is the SECOND set of tutorials I wrote for QUILTsocial. I'm sure my writing style and grammar have changed significantly!
This is the basic tutorial on making a journal cover. I think the method of adding the lining is clever, and there's no reason to leave an opening along one side to turn it inside out.
Making a collage journal cover. Perfect way to use up scraps or create a personalized cover ...
read moreDue to a long list of "Things to Do"...I'm taking the next three weeks of blogging off. I'll happily host though - so feel free to link up. I want to wish everyone the joy of this season and if you are going through trials, I offer a hug. Thank you for keeping me company on this creative journey!
Don't worry -- I will be donating, BUT not until January 2. I have two pairs of winter boots that I know someone can use. However, since I am donating to an organization that turns around and sells the items, I might as well benefit and get a discount coupon. Since that coupon is only valid until December 31, 2025, it doesn't make sense to donate now. The donation can wait until January 2. What I'll donate, if anything, will be lightweight summer items for the most part.
That may sound callous, but that's my decision, and ...

The little jobs around the house NEVER end!
I "fixed" the bubbler for the pond. I had brought the entire thing into the house and realized that the teeny tiny hole at the end of the tube was clogged with debris. So I poked that all out, put some water in the sink, and VOILA - the bubbler is working again. Now, to put it back into the pond.
Then I opened the door to the furnace room to get a basket and saw water on the floor. The furnace, which is only a couple of years old, has sprung a ...
read moreGood grief --- I dreamt about being somewhere and trying to help someone thread a serger! Just as I was about to find out why the thread was breaking, the alarm went off! At least it was a logical (for me), non-emotional dream, but why am I remembering them so often these days?
Even though I don't have any major tasks these days, my days are full, and yet I'm not getting much done! Well, that's a lie -- I spent all morning at the computer and managed to get things done that I haven't done in a ...
read moreIt's time for a reality check! I did say that there was NOTHING in July; however, that is false. I have a LOT of writing to do in July. I love writing, and I can do it on my time—even in the middle of the night if I want. So yes, I will be busy in July; there just won't be classes. That's why we have editors—they remind us of our commitments and keep us on track!
Today is going to be a traumatic day for our house. Miss Lexi has to get some dental ...
