Titles – I Run Out of Ideas! from Quilts....etc.

Some days just aren’t meant for sewing – sometimes for me those are the chilly, dreary days where the sun doesn’t come out for even one minute and you sit around in your pajamas (or sweats) and read while drinking coffee.  Yesterday was that kind of day – I wonder what today will bring?  (by […]

Jack’s Chain from Quilts....etc.

One more ring done on Jack’s Chain – I was about ready to forget about it for the day as I had gotten almost done with this one – but I decided to take a break and then go back to it. So I did take a good long break and almost didn’t go back […]

Another Ring Cut Out from Quilts....etc.

I was looking at fabric for Jack’s Chain and decided another green mix for the next ring.  This one might go to the left of the yellow block that has some green swirled in it.  It is all cut and ready to stitch today.  I was looking through some of my boxes of fat quarters […]

How to Put Together the Puzzle Pieces from Quilts....etc.

I wasn’t going to start putting the pieces together for awhile but I wanted to try it out and see how it went so showing how I am doing it as I had some ask how do you put it together.  Like most people that do EPP a lot of people don’t buy patterns – […]

A Little More from Quilts....etc.

More on Jack’s Chain – it is really an easy quilt to make – so far! I’m sure I will need to focus more when I start to put units together – so far 6 made  – I’m not sure how many units I will make before I start to put it together – I […]

Not Much from Quilts....etc.

I just didn’t get around to much yesterday it was a slow day other than grocery shopping which seemed to take a little longer than usual for some reason maybe it was because SNAP benefits had been held up and more out getting their groceries combined with Thanksgiving food shopping before the hoards of late […]

Playing with Color from Quilts....etc.

Yesterday the blog was working much better but comments were not coming to my email so I started to answer them on the blog – then mid afternoon some were coming to the computer – I hope it all works correctly today.  I plan to link to Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy and Life in […]

Down the rabbit hole! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH MY!!!!! I forgot that I had mentioned a Virtual Retreat to some people this weekend. I totally forgot to post the links the past couple of days, or even to mention it! I would remember when I was out walking the dogs, and then poof! I totally forgot to add it to the blog post when I got back home.

I'll be away the next two weekends, so those dates won't work.

Well, if no one shows up tonight and tomorrow, that's OK.

The links will be at the bottom of this post, if I remember ...

A Pattern Emerging from Quilts....etc.

For Jack’s Chain to see the “chain” emerge your really need more than two on the wall and now that I have 3 up there I can see the chain but I couldn’t see it until I took photos for some reason – why is it sometimes that you see patterns in the camera that […]

Jack’s Chain from Quilts....etc.

A little progress yesterday on Jack’s Chain – this was the day to practice Y-seams by machine.  I knew it would be slow going while I got it down some in my mind and it did – but one ring half way done.  I got the first nine patch on and then of course messed […]

Three Projects Once Again from Quilts....etc.

There will be some days that I won’t be working on all three of course but yesterday I did in between some other things. First on Jack’s Chain I got the nine patch blocks made and it is ready to work on more today if I wish.  We are going into a nice warm stretch […]

Lots of Hexagons from Quilts....etc.

Yes I am jumping in with hexagons now that I decided to give it another shot.  Jigsaw Puzzle or something like that will be the name for this new long term(?) project size to be determined later.  I have my big box full of pre-cut hexagons leftover from Noriko’s Star that I want to use […]

A place for everything, everything in its place! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm glad I'm not the only one having dreams. I woke up remembering another dream, but it was a pleasant dream. Some of us were sewing, making things, and borrowing stuff from each other - just like at a quilt retreat! It was a fun dream!

And I'm happy to report that I had a great day yesterday. I did not get everything done that I wanted to, but I made tremendous progress. I completed almost half of the side job, efficiently using the fabric I was given, and effectively using my time. It took just over three ...

Divide and conquer from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Before I begin blabbing this morning, I want to revisit the picture from yesterday.

The crazy quilter on a bike with her trusty companions

Someone suggested I could download a picture of myself and use it to create the photo. I figured I could, just not there yet.

What I wanted to say is that I didn't tell ChatGPT anything except "crazy quilter on a bike" and the two dogs, and to make the photo realistic. I did NOT tell it to make a quilted jacket, nor hair or skin color, nor gender, nor clothing. It did that on ...

Unpacking from quilt retreat from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH ---- I learn so darn much from all of you that it blows my mind! I just read the comment because we were discussing ways to use up those partially wound bobbins. Well, why can't you use the partially wound bobbins (from the long arm) to piece with, but on TOP, not in the bobbin? DUH!!! I knew that!!! LOL

Perfect because there are some rogue colors in those bobbins that have been there for eons, and well, I don't need them. Here's the thing, because I'm sure many of you are gasping at the thought ...

Quilt retreat progress update from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

LOL - Your comments are so funny! I'll answer them individually this morning!

But seriously -- WAIZE versus Google Maps? Oh dear --- DH and I have this discussion all the time. I'm a Google Maps girl, and he likes WAIZE and never ceases to encourage me to use it. Well, I have had ZERO issues with Google Maps. Any app I use uses Google Maps, like Geocaching, and my house locator (shh -- used for spying, not moving!), and so I love Google Maps!

The issue with my car is that Android Auto seemed to be timing out - it had nothing ...

Red and white quilts from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my --- I love the comments!!! YES -- I can see some individualized sew-alongs happening!!! One for the Savannah quilt and one for the suitcases!!!! And that William Morris quote --- you bet -- we all need that one in our house, and I'm going to look at it every time I touch anything. Hmmm --- there might not be anything left. I'd better warn Lexi and Murphy!! Right now they are helpful, well, no, they are beautiful and always will be!!

I confess that I wasn't quite as productive as I would have liked yesterday, but then I went on ...

Quilt retreats are the best from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Just waiting for the email wth the photos to come through! It's been a super productive retreat so far, and we still have a few days to go. Can I finish the remaining quilt tops for the dog quilts? They will have to wait unit October to be quilted, but that's OK.

OK -- the pictures came through, but some of them need a bit of editing; however, that doesn't seem to want to happen this morning. No big deal -- some are sideways -- we'll just have to let it go.

This first picture is a bit weird ...

Working to quote on my dog quilts from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Lol --- yes --- depending on the time of year you were here at Springhouse Retreat -- many of us have watched the corn grow! There never seems to be a lack of entertainment in the form of the fancy equipment moving in and out of that massive driving shed! I find it fascinating!

I've done pretty well at my goal of making those eight quilt tops from the dog fabric. Here is number one.

Dog quilt number one!

I want to keep them simple and easy to piece. I want them to be approximately 60 inches by 72 inches, and I ...

Behave yourself! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I will be good and keep this blog clean of "banned" topics. But there are times when I'd love to dive deep. I think it's essential to have venues that are free of that kind of stuff. I've often thought about starting another forum where I could rant and rave to my heart's content. In the meantime, DH gets the brunt of it! And that's all I'll say on that topic.

By banned, I mean I had to ban specific topics from my Monday Sewing group because the conversations just went ugly, and that ...
