Stalked in the forest! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm almost up-to-date with things! What a wonderful feeling knowing I can start the week with very little on the overdue list! I have one more follow-up to finish this morning from the weekend Zooms. There have been so many questions to answer or additional information to provide, so that is good. But there also seem to be questions about stuff we've already covered! OH -- I sure hope people go back and review the slides I send each month. It's a lot of information, and sometimes, it's a challenge to grasp everything the first time.

If ...

And so the madness begins! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I have a class and a club today, and am I prepared? NO!!

Why? Because I was doing something else yesterday instead of prepping. There is NO ONE to blame but myself. Part of what I was doing yesterday was sewing for today, and one of the presentations is completely done - I just have to load some pictures into the second presentation, and I have time for that later this morning. So while not 100% prepped, not far from being finished.

In case you wonder how I can get so many steps in a day -- here's the thing. As ...

Letting go of the clutter from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

WOW --- each day at my house brings something new. No two days are alike, as I'm sure is the case at your house. But when the totally unexpected happens, and it's a good thing, the world needs to know about it.

Like most new quilters (or even the more experienced), you buy fabric because you like it and it's precious. So precious that you can't even cut into it, but then you get to a point when you realize that it's OK to cut into that precious stuff. And how many of you have said ...

Health Check from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I have so many pictures to post -- there just isn't enough time. I'm teaching an in-person class today, and everything is prepped and ready to load into the car! Yeah!

I still have pictures from the weekend to post, and I don't think I'll get them all done today. Let's see what happens.

Maryke, Carol, and I did some swapping; here is part of what we exchanged. I loaned Maryke some templates, and I got two books in return. The first one, I've put with my Mixed Media projects for the year, and I ...

Forest for the Trees Quilt from Expect Moore

This quilt has been on my mind for months, and I’m so excited to share it as a Ruler of the Month quilt! Many times, when you see a quilt like this, it has been either foundation paper pieced or the pieces have been cut with a template. With 100 trees in this quilt, I […]

Cherrywood Challenge exhibit from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So if anyone tells you that things are not back to normal - they are lying! Where did all the people come from yesterday? Granted, it was a rainy Saturday afternoon, so people probably had nothing better to do. The shopping plaza parking lots were jammed. I had to zip out to get dog food. The store itself wasn't that busy, but then there were other stores in that plaza.

I went to the Costco parking lot to find a geocache. NOT a parking space to be found! I parked in the plaza beside Costco and got the cache. Then ...

Play ball with ME from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The spin class went well! There were no issues with the knee, so that was good, and no swelling at the end, so that's even better. I'm going to have to move indoors for the walking as it would appear all that concrete isn't doing my knee any favors!

A good number of the regulars were in the class, and our favorite instructor - Joseph! A big round of applause ended the class - I think everyone was excited to be back. It was hard to get going, but I ended up doing 27 KM, where I would normally ...

Who are you going to call? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Here's a question to ponder this morning. When you need to fix something - who are you going to call?

Should you call the appliance repair people? Should you call a handyman? Or should you Google it?

As you know, I got an F11 error on my dishwasher a while back. And no, I didn't have time to deal with it and was perfectly happy (not really) to handwash everything. I had Googled the error message and knew that there was a blockage in the draining system. The one video I watched was bizarre, and the guy was showing ...

A quilt road trip from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I went on a little shopping trip yesterday. I got to walk amongst bolts of fabric, look at kits, spools of thread, look at samples. It was quite a heady experience. I will NOT mention the name of the store - I don't want them getting into trouble. But I was in the store by myself. I did a little retail shopping, which I'll share with you either today or tomorrow - it depends on how much time I have this morning.

Initially, I went to do curbside pickup, which went a bit further than the curb. I'm OK ...

A walk in the neighborhood from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I was going to start the show and tell for Long Time Gone, but I have a couple of things to share with you. Then I'll start the show and tell tomorrow. There's too much to put in one day, so it'll span several days.

Have you been out walking in your neighborhood lately? I've noticed two things that are springing up everywhere. Can you guess what they are?

There are the FOR SALE or the SOLD signs. We've had a lot of that in our neighborhood.

And there's the giant bin thing.

Seriously ...

Love notes in your UFO projects from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Another super sewing day with the Monday group! Gosh -- I would be so lost without that sewing group. They keep me grounded, and we catch up on all the gossip and what's happening in the world of guilds and quilting. Some guilds have embraced this technology and really flown, and others? Not so much! I currently don't belong to any guilds as I mentally needed a break from all the politics. Why or why do guilds need to become political? It's so sad how some of the quilters treat the others - for the sake of what?  I ...

It's all about COLOR from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my - so much happened yesterday, and I don't think I'm going to get to it all. As promised, though, let's talk about those Cloth Paper Scissors Studios magazines.

The magazines came out quarterly, and I seem to have purchased them all. The time frame is 2010 - 2014 or something like that. Here's the cover of the one that I'm just finishing.

Cloth Paper Scissors Studios magazine

Yep -- do you remember Ty Pennington of Move that Bus (Extreme Home Makeover) fame? I wonder if he's still around? Yep --- with a much more grizzled look ...
