So today, I turned 55 and spent the day at Paoli Hospital getting x-rays of my hands, feet, and knees. Fun time! I have had pain in those areas for the past year. I got blood work done last year, and my ANAs were high, which I guess is a sign of inflammation in the body. I got more bloodwork done over a week ago and am still awaiting the results. The X-rays don’t show anything abnormal. The results say normal mineralization, whatever that is.

The worst is every morning waking up ...

I have now been 126 days alcohol-free. I continue to feel great about this decision in my life and wanted to share with you what I think is the number one benefit. There are many benefits but I think clarity is the one that I love the most.

Some of the flowers that I sowed last month have already turning into plants that I can plant out in the garden this week. Some have not come up at all. I will have to redo them to see if it is a problem with the seeds, or if it was too wet and cold the last two months.I love to fill my garden with bright colors. my garden has the perfect size for me right now, but I do wish there was a bit of room for bigger plants, like a magnolia tree.

I have worked hard not letting the off comment hurt my feelings. Maybe I am overly sensitive this week since I’ve been working hard to get the QG Creative Design Society members over to the new $9.97/month price. If you have a lot of half square triangles to make, the half square triangle paper is going to be your life saver!! You are going to love how quick and easy this makes sewing HST. It’s kind of like a triangles on a roll cheat sheet for quilters.

You’ll be layering your fabric, right sides together with the paper and then following the arrows – sewing on the dotted lines.

Looking for a garden-inspired quilting design? There are plenty of quilting ideas out there for flowers and leaves, but how about adding a garden path to your pattern library?

This garden path design is based on the flow of the filler design called pebbles / pebbling. Instead of repeating tiny circles though, we use irregular shapes. Shapes you would find in a flagstone garden path. Pieced to fit together like a complex puzzle, each shape different from the other.

I am so excited to announce that I am going to be teaching on a cruise again!

I have taught on a cruise before in March 2024. It was such a great experience and so much fun and I feel so fortunate to be teaching on another one.

This was the saying that kept going through my mind as I pieced this block. Fiddly, and time-consuming; and my mind went to enough different places while I worked on it that I made several mistakes in the cutting of the fabrics. 

No coup here, but this was a good start on the first day of piecing this block.

I’m now considering cutting out the remaining pieces of the entire quilt so I can just sew, trim and press. A long weekend should fill the bill, so long as I’m not interrupted.
