Decluttering! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Well, Christmas is gone for another year. I must say that we had a great day -- there were zero disappointments in who we met or didn't and what we got or didn't. We set no expectations for the day beyond our control, and you know what? It's always a great day!

One other thing that I do not understand is Christmas decorations. Don't get me wrong - I love all the Christmas decorations, and putting them up is fun if you are having a party at your house. We don't have guests, so it would be ...

Merry Christmas and two steps back! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Merry Christmas to everyone! Thanks to all of you for supporting me in so many ways this past year (OK -- that's something I should say on New Year's Day), but I appreciate all the comments and feedback and know that many of you read the blog over morning coffee! No pressure on me to face an empty computer screen every morning and drum up something! I LOVE it!

I hope that your day is whatever you want it to be. Our day has always been quiet - no big families or groups of friends to celebrate with. And there ...

What a little FOCUS can do! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's amazing what a little FOCUS can do in a day! I have awesome photos to share with you, and I am so excited!

I'm not sure if it helped, but I listened to an audiobook and listened to the entire thing from start to finish yesterday -- about 7 hours. The book is called Counting the Cost by Jill Dugger. I found the book fascinating - not because of who the author was. I've never watched a single episode of their shows and know nothing about them.

There were two things I took away from this book -- the ...

Decluttering from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's "comforting" to know I'm not the only one hiding junk in boxes and bags! Good luck to everyone who is sorting and decluttering. It's TIME to open those boxes and bags and deal with them!

I will put that statement here again: The things you value are only valuable while you are alive. When you are gone, no one will give the same value to the items. So - if the item is valuable to you while you are alive, you should be USING it!

If the item is no longer of value to you, perhaps someone ...

Running on empty! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

That title does NOT refer to me -- I'm doing a good job of drinking my water (although not nearly enough), eating (too much), and last night, I had a good stretch session before bed (probably not long enough), and you know what? I slept like a log! Which is good because the night before was a disaster.

In case you were wondering, I picked up the new car about three weeks ago. I hate to say that so much is happening that it was almost a non-event. I don't have time to tell you the entire story this ...

When daily life becomes clutter! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm a stress eater, and if I had had an Advent Calendar with candy in it -- well, it would have been Christmas Eve by 1 PM yesterday!

It wasn't seriously bad, but it involved scammers, and I'm sick and tired of scammers. I'll let you know the details later. No money (per se) was handed over, so I'm okay. But I'm just tired of all that.

I can see why people with mental health issues or even physical issues are taught coping mechanisms. I needed a coping mechanism to get me back on track ...

Decluttering continues from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Hmmm --- where was the lightbulb moment last night? We opened the door to Day 10 on the EXIT Game Advent Calendar and figured out what to do with all the pieces (or so we think!). Now, how do we interpret those pieces? We left it - I was going to go back before bed but didn't, so I'll try again today. We may need to look at the clues, but I think we will need all three before this is solved! Some days, the puzzles are tricky, and some are not!

I stopped at the library the other day ...

A LIGHTBULB moment from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I was in a bit of a huff yesterday, not because anything significant happened. OK -- DH did NOT solve the EXIT Game puzzle before he went to bed. So we attempted it again in the morning, and we were stumped. I had to check the first clue, and OMG. You have to be kidding me. We missed something so blatantly apparent that it put me in a funk for part of the day!

So last night, when we opened the next room, it was with great trepidation. And we fiddled, and we fiddled, and we chatted about it. And we ...

Another senior moment from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I don't feel (and hopefully don't act) like a senior. However, how the heck do we expect seniors to act these days? When we were kids - being past 50 meant you were practically an antique and had one foot in the grave. Today - it's like being in your 30s. We can still do so much, and we're still YOUNG!

I feel strange asking for senior discounts at stores. I am more experienced, but I don't think I'm too like a senior. But I had another chuckle yesterday. I was at the bulk food store ...

How tidy is too tidy? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Leaps and bounds of progress are being made. Well, not exactly, but I'm closer to getting everything done. I have a couple of hours of editing, and one of the critical deadlines will be done! I worked on the second critical deadline project and might get more done today. Then it'll get set aside until next weekend when it becomes my only priority!

The Zoom calls went off without a hitch yesterday. And the two presentations for this morning are ready to go! Being organized and having a system works amazingly to making this all happen.

The one ...

Color inspiration for the next quilt from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So it was a good day and a bad day! GRR!

It drives me crazy when I can't find something. I become obsessed with finding it, and when I can't, it throws my day for a curve! That was yesterday. I'm missing TWO things -- I wanted to take a picture of part of a UFO project. Can I find it? Nope -- and I've looked everywhere. But obviously, not everywhere! I'll try later today.

However, the good news is that I already have a picture of the piece (I remembered that later in the day) and ...

Setting good habits and goals from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I need to catch up in answering the comments, and there are some exciting ones! And yes, Elle, I know what you mean about keeping the place clean. I was doing a great job until I went away last week and came home with new stuff to deal with. It doesn't help that I have a few extra sergers at the moment that don't belong to me, and they take up space.

I puttered a bit yesterday and got more stuff put away, so I'm in good shape. Having a home for everything is exciting and makes ...

That's a LOT of lint! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What a change in the weather! We went from warm temps and clear, dry roads and sidewalks to NASTY. The temperature dropped; we had freezing rain and a bit of snow. A perfect combination for nasty walking.

I had to go out last night to drop something off and pick something up. There was no freezing rain then, but it rained the entire way, so it was very wet on the highway. Not a fun drive, but it could have been a lot worse!! The temperature was hovering at zero.

What did I pick up? All I can say is ...

Committed? or is that a commitment? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. Oh, having a deadline also helps. It's the third year I've run the UFO club, and the amount of work I've completed is insane. I can vouch for everyone in the two clubs when it's been a godsend in getting some of those old projects done. I'm shocked actually because there isn't anyone policing us; however, there is that $10 per month that we could lose.

And who wants to always miss the deadline in front of your peers? Not ...

Coping with first world problems from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

 Sigh..................

It was too good to be true. My "new" phone is not working. Yep --- I'm so frustrated that I could just throw it away. For the moment, I'm banning all phone calls in or out and will do everything by text or e-mail. So if you want to call me, DON'T. I won't be answering my phone until I can figure this out.

Here's the silly thing -- it's the SAME problem with two different phones. So one would think it can't be the phone. So you blame the carrier. However, the call ...

Things around the neighborhood from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I've decided that I need 30-hour days to get everything done! I'm not giving up my walking or my sleep! So a few things will be late, and that's just life! I hope to clear off a lot of the computer work this morning. None of this is rocket science, so I'm not worried. Just in case you are waiting for an e-mail from me.

One of the things I love about walking is you get to see stuff in the neighborhood. And way back in April, a car drove into a house. I'm not ...

Work on the UFOs from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was another glorious day! I went out for a long walk in the afternoon with no hat, and by the time I got home, my jacket was open, my scarf was dangling, and my mitts were in m pocket! I LOVE days like that. But it was cold when I took the girls out in the morning, and my legs were a bit red when I got back!

We had our UFO Clubs in the morning, which is always a hoot. Who did or didn't get their homework done? If they don't, $10 will be donated to ...

The sun is still there! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Well, well  --- another hurdle has been passed. There are two UFO sessions this morning, and will anyone be paying money? Late last night, I felt like the Little Engine that Could late last night and early this morning. "I think I can, I think I can." Then that changed to "I know I can. I know I can." You'll just have to wait until tomorrow to see if the little train pulled into the station - on time!

When I went for my walk in the afternoon, I had the shock of my life. OK -- so I'm exaggerating, but ...

ยป Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was a much calmer day! Phew --- I've had so much excitement lately that I wasn't sure I could handle more!

Before I forget, let me share the story of the lotto scratch ticket. I found the ticket when I was cleaning up - wait, I have another funny story to share about that! So I found this three-part scratch ticket. It wasn't completely scratched, and when I looked on the back, there was NO expiry date, so why not?

I think it won $10, so I might as well cash that in. When I went to that ...

There is so much good in this world! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Since I'm trying to get my life under control (LOL), and I didn't feel comfortable with that lottery business, I decided to contact the OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming). I got to the website and discovered I could talk to an agent on the computer. So we went back and forth, and she asked questions -- what time was I there, where did I buy the ticket, what date was the draw, etc. Never once did she say that this could never happen. She was very professional about the entire thing.

I got a Reference Number, and she asked ...
