What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

 So yesterday we were up at 6:30 am and out the door by 7:30 am to the Portland Airport.  We arrived with just a little bit over an hour before our plane left. Patrick was saying he should have left 30 mins earlier.  I always say that but not this time.

I really didn't mean to miss two weeks of stitching stuff posts.  I had connectivity issues just before we left on vacation. Then we had a pretty busy vacation in Oregon and I just never had time to sit down to write a post. We flew on Sunday and spent Monday driving the Columbia River Gorge.  One of our stops was at Bridal Veil Falls. 

We also stopped at Wahkeena Falls, but that one doesn't photograph very well.  From Wahkeena, we hiked over to Multnomah Falls.

I had some time off work recently, and we used the opportunity to take a break from the everyday.

We always like a scenic view.

And seeing bears has been on our bucket list for many years.

I can understand how they can become a nuisance though after they raided the garbage multiple times and made quite a mess.

I also made a lot of progress on the afghan and some progress on my fall stitch. I might even mess around and finish that afghan in the next couple weeks. I’m enjoyed the time to work on my hand ...

Okay, I know I said I would post last night, but the truth is that I crashed at 8:00 pm last night and didn't see daylight till 7:30 am this morning. 

We were up at 4:30 am in MI to get the plane at 5:45 am. Dennis dropped us off and we sat waiting to load onto the plane. We were off and in the air by by 6 am on our way to Detroit.  We arrived in Detroit around 7:30 am. Our next plane was across the other side of the building. We ...

 Okay, I'm behind again on my blogging but this time it isn't 3 days. I will post today later tonight. Who know what I'll be up to!!

Yesterday started out with the 5 of us. Chris and I went out to eat since the rest of them went golfing. Molly (niece), Dennis, Sue and Patrick all went golfing. And here Patrick thought he would only golf once while he was on vacation. They got in 3 or 4 times of golfing. So, he's not complaining!

 The last three days we have been enjoying family time without wifi/internet. Being on the lake in a kayak is a lot of fun. I always get wet. I spent a lot of time beading and doing embroidery. 

I was able to get all the greenery done. I really enjoyed working on this. Last night I finished the flowers. 

Yesterday we were cleaning up the cabin and coming back to my in laws. We got back at noon. Chris and I stopped for ice cream. After we got back,  I just sat and enjoyed being with family. I worked ...

  This morning Patrick and Dennis went golfing at 7 am. While they were gone we pretty much stayed around the cabin. It rained today. There was some thunderstorms but it wasn't a down pour. I did miss that.

While Patrick was gone, I beaded.

I was able to get this one done before I had to join every one for corn hole. I won a game and lost another. 

After supper we all went to the country store for ice cream.  Chris and I played dominoes while the rest watched a movie. It was a busy day. While everyone ...

 Corner Lake was cloudy today. We didn't go out on the lake till after lunch. Patrick and I went out in the kayaks. 

In the morning I worked on my embroidery.  I keep getting bad pictures because I forget to take photos in the day time. The lights around here is dull.

I will try to use the daylight to get better pictures. I have the bigger stem to work on. I may start the flowers yet. 

Played dominoes with Chris. She won 4 of the 7 games. lol We had a great time playing.

 Today I felt good. Slept great. Had breakfast with everyone and then we decided on what today would bring. Dennis, Sue, Patrick,  and Molly were going golfing. Chris and I were on our own. Dad went home to get his package that was coming in today. Patrick and I took a walk before they left.

Chris and I went into town so I could visit the bead store - Noc Bay Trading Company. I was in heaven!! 

I bought a few things and picked up a catalog. 

I bought a kit to make earrings. This has beads, earring clips, porcupine needles ...

 Realized I was so tired last night, that I forgot my posting. We were out in the water most of the day. Pontoon boat gets a lot of use! 

Chris and I headed out and paddle boarded on the lake. She lost her shoe in the water so we had to circle around to get it. That paddle board is hard! It squeaks.  Needed WD40.

 Ok, I tried to sleep in. Easier said then done. Dad seems to wake the dead when he talks in the morning! Of course my sister in law Chris, seems to always do a big breakfast. So it was sausage, bacon, pancakes, yogurt and fruit. With 3 kinds of fruit and juices.

I went out on the boat to sit and chat with Patrick and Sue. Then the rest started coming on board.  Next thing I know we are off for another sight seeing trip. This may turn into a daily thing. The pontoon boat goes slow. Dennis and Molly ...

 This morning we were up by 8. I headed out with Chris (sister in law) to go shopping.  We got food for the cabin. Then stopped and picked up doughnuts at the doughnut shop. Grap some tea at Starbucks. Then headed out if town for an hour to reach the cabin. There seems to be more people out and about the lake. Guess some of the owners around here put their cabins on Air B and B. A few actually live year around out here. 

We unloaded and put stuff away. Sue made a crap load of sweets to eat ...

 This morning we were up at 3:15 am to head to the Portland Airport.  First we went to the parking area. When we arrived at the pick up area, there were at least 10 people waiting.  More came as we were there. The first bus hollered that his bus was full and 3 more busses were behind him. When a bus did show up, it was empty.  We all filled the bus and took off for the airport.  

We signed in. Then went through TSA precheck. Patrick's bag was missing when I went to collect mine. He had ...

 This morning Patrick went golfing ⛳️.  I got my exercises in and headed out to walk. Got in one loop when I ran into Ron Moss, my 94 plus neighbor.  Decided to join him and we walked and talked. He does 7 loops that is shorter than mine. He doesn't go down the hill to the beginning of our street. His 7 loops equal 2 miles. 

Not sure why this is underlined in areas, so please forgive the typos (underlines). Since this is on my tablet, not sure what it's thinking!

Towards the end of June, we left on a 12 day trip. Before leaving, there was {of course} a mad rush to get the quilting sorted out so it would be easier to dive back in later. You know how us quilters think! 

Ready to the last little bit of handwork!

 Yesterday was a day of travel. What is there to say about that. We were off the ship by 9 am. They had it so well done, that it was easy to leave. We got on the bus to Houston Airport. That driver was spooky!! He was tailgating as well as passing everyone! I believe he was speeding a good 10 miles over. We did get to the airport at a good time. But we couldn't change our flight to an earlier one. So, we had to WAIT 3 hours before we could drop off our luggage. Patrick found ...

 This morning we went up to the buffet to get breakfast.  I generally get q bran muffin with some bread and sausage.  Really not a breakfast person. Patrick gets eggs and bread or oatmeal.  Today he tried the cereal. Said it wasn't a name brand that is good.

We then went to meet up with Donna and Gerald.  We played games till about 11 and the broke for lunch. Patrick and I got candy bars. Then to the casino. We lost what money we had from my big win. We played till about 1 pm and met back up ...

The last 3 days flew by.  Day 11 was just walking around and going through the gates. We reach the Panama Canal. We waited to get into the locks. We started going through the locks around 8 am and reached the other side by 5 pm. 

The water dropped in about 5 to 10 mins. Went a lot faster than I expected.  The tugboat were with us the whole way.

I took a video of the gate closing on the last lock. It was fun to watch. 

The next day - yesterday  - we were in Columbia.  Do not recommend going there ...
