More organizing from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

With a little bit more focus and NO priority, this is what happened yesterday.

Yep --- I was at the embroidery machine and trying to get as much of the border on Green Tea done as I could. OK -- I wanted to get all the two flower motifs completed.

And while trying to achieve that goal, I emptied three spools of thread and three bobbins. Well, that happened throughout the last couple of days.

Using up supplies!

I spotted this on the floor at one point on the Monday Sewing Zoom. Seriously? How many times have I passed the Swifter and ...

Practicing what I preach from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What can I say? The Happiness Journal is working WITH me, and well, I'm HAPPY!! Look what I read last night.

Quote from the Happiness Project

After the day I had, this was the absolute truth. I was in my glory as I tidied. I also got some day job work done and am SUPER excited about the results. I made progress on the writing - all is good.

Remember what I've been "preaching" about getting the monkeys off your back? Well, it's one thing to keep telling you that; it's another to get some monkeys off ...

Another senior moment from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I don't feel (and hopefully don't act) like a senior. However, how the heck do we expect seniors to act these days? When we were kids - being past 50 meant you were practically an antique and had one foot in the grave. Today - it's like being in your 30s. We can still do so much, and we're still YOUNG!

I feel strange asking for senior discounts at stores. I am more experienced, but I don't think I'm too like a senior. But I had another chuckle yesterday. I was at the bulk food store ...

Time flies! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Where did yesterday go? After Monday's sewing, I went for a walk, then got stuck on the computer with the support team from Microsoft.

Can you tell me why this happened? My e-mail got stuck on my desktop but worked fine on my laptop and phone. I got an error message to delete some files because I exceeded my limit. OK -- I get that, but then I couldn't delete anything. So why is that? And why was it working fine on the other devices?

I never got an answer to any of those questions, but they did something ...

The backyard blooms from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Sounds like I'm not the only one traveling! Just go with the flow -- life is too short to get upset at anything!

I was hoping to get more done yesterday, but that didn't happen. I got a quilt loaded on the long arm and hoped to get it quilted, but I couldn't muster the energy. I was going to do paperwork, and that wasn't happening either. So then, at a very early time this morning, I was awake and got some paperwork done.

The problem is that I'm back on a plane tomorrow, and there ...

Tech woes continue from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's funny how you never hear of something, and then suddenly, it's everywhere! And that's why I love the blog and my sewing group. I have learned many things, and it's nice to know you're not alone. Case in point -- toe stretchers.

I had never heard of toe stretchers other than the ones used if you were getting your toenails done, and they use them to keep your toes from touching freshly painted nails. But it turns out they are more than that and are actually good for your feet. Who knew?

At this point ...

The great thread sort continues from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

We all love to shop --- lots of goodies -- patterns, threads, fabric, and whatever else there is to buy! I started quilting in 1998, and I had no problems buying stuff. Or even worse -- getting freebies from various places. I see so many people winning things they will NEVER use -- why do they even bother to sign up for it? It's all a big marketing ploy. Sure -- they will sell or give it away, but then it will sit in someone else's house. We are KEYED to want free stuff!

Sadly, I learned a bit too late about accumulating ...

What's in your fridge? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's so nice to have time without a looming deadline! I have loads to do, but with no deadline, I had a great visit with my colleague yesterday. Of course, that put me behind with the day's schedule, and only ONE piece of paperwork disappeared, so this morning will be devoted to paperwork.

However, loads still got accomplished once she left. I'm still working on the cutting table, which is like a revolving door. Something might get placed there, and it's gone within a day or two. This is its current state.

The current state of ...

Quilting a hand-embroidered quilt from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH -- I just remembered that I need to take pictures of the pouches. Tomorrow -- I promise!

Well, the clock is ticking on my Virtual Challenge -- I've less than 100 KM to finish it off, and of course, there is an issue with syncing the data, so I have to make a manual adjustment later today. I will make my goal! And even if I'm one day late, it's no big deal, but still -- it's the principal of the matter!

Another great Zoom on the mySewnet software. It's quite silly, actually, because there's so much ...

Listen to your feet from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'll provide more information on the pouches tomorrow as I have two of them, and I want to show you both, as they are similar, yet quite different.

So there's bad news today. Not super bad news, but to me -- it's not good. However, it's an early wake-up call, and I better be doing some more research.

The other day when I was out walking the girls, I felt a hot spot developing on the inside of my left heel. This surprised me as I have walked over 150 KM in this current pair of running ...

Getting organized! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was another late night, but only because I was outside for most of the afternoon. It was too nice to be inside, and I'd rather take advantage of the fantastic weather!

We had a great time at Monday sewing, and it's been a while since I haven't had to zip out prematurely because of a work commitment. I got to stay until the end!

Lots of stuff happened in Studio B, and I knew, with all my tidying, a couple of scenarios would arise - not being able to find something and refining already sorted areas.

For ...

It's all about the books from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- so yesterday was so much fun, I might be tempted to retire and only do my own thing! I loaded the backing for a very large quilt on the long arm, and I'll load the top this afternoon and quilt it.

Then I decided to tackle a bit of tidy-up. Now here's the thing -- the place looked a mess, with stuff strewn everywhere. But because everything has a home and I don't store things on my worktables, it really didn't take long before it looked like a workable space again! All that hard work in ...

We lost the dog! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Something very weird is happening. I sent out an e-mail with a Zoom link this morning, and when I checked my inbox (I always send these to myself as well), the e-mail wasn't there. Hmmm --- so I checked my sent e-mails. Nothing.

I decided to resend the link and saw it appear in my inbox. I made breakfast and came back, and the e-mail had disappeared? And it wasn't in the SEND box either. OK -- -what the heck is happening? I sent two Zoom links this morning -- one is OK, and the other is in LA LA land ...

It's raining pizza! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

After the rush of the UFO clubs in the morning, I had a most peaceful afternoon, which was long overdue!

I accomplished loads in the tidy-up area -- it wasn't that things didn't have a home, although there were a few new things; I wanted to focus on the stuff rather than just throwing it in its place. That is now done, and the place looks decent. It shows what a few minutes each day can do and then an hour to finish. So EASY when things have a home!

Here's that table that was covered with stuff ...

Hot and cold from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So many Advent Calendars -- so little time! Is it next year so I can order one? OK --- so that's pushing time limits a wee bit. But now that I've investigated advent calendars and found out how inexpensive some of them are, compared to the quilting ones -- I want a different one. Maybe I could "cheat" and buy one for myself this year!! No one will know!

Had great presentations yesterday, and OH - boy -- I should learn to read the instructions. I seem to make things up when I'm sewing, and well -- if it works and it's ...

Another Before and After from From the Strawberry Patch...

A picture is worth a thousand words, as they say. This "before and after" shot is no exception. What makes the greatest difference here? Shelf dividers! They're worth every penny, (I ordered them through Amazon) no more fabric stack avalanches! So, what led to this insane decision to drop everything and make some improvements in the organizational department of the stash closet?  I have been

Summer is coming from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Even though I have lists and I have plans and even though I know a deadline looms months in advance, there's nothing like that deadline in your face to get you motivated. I'll show you what I mean in a second.

As part of my tidying up in Studio B, it meant getting EVERYTHING out of the way. As Elle mentioned, once it's on those work tables, it's technically out of my sight, but still visible so I can see what needs to be done. I'm not tripping over anything, I'm not swooshing stuff ...
