Good morning, my friends. The rain is supposed to start up today, but it's bright and sunny right now. It seems to me these recent rain forecasts have failed to materialize. Maybe this time will be different. Whatever happens, I know what I'll be doing. I'll be sewing. How about you?

Yesterday saw me finishing up the fifth block and the whole first row of the Stair Steps project. The endless cutting for these blocks isn't my favorite thing to do, but I believe I'm going to love this quilt. Some of you probably follow ...

Good morning, my friends. The days seem to be flying by right now. It's harder to get up in the morning with cooler temperatures and later sunrises. I've been sleeping a little later, and it cuts into the time I have for accomplishing anything during the day. It's probably all right to slow the pace a little bit as summer winds down.

It was late in the day by the time I made my way to the sewing room. My goal for the day was to do all the cutting for the Gumballs project. The "Gumballs," pattern ...

Good morning, my friends. That most-hated task, grocery shopping, is finished for the week. We got off to a late start yesterday morning. It was after lunch time when we got home. We put everything away, had our lunch, and then we each took naps...pretty much required after a grocery shopping trip. Finally, I was able to get back to my sewing. 

It took a while, but I finished the hand-stitching on the ninth of nine blocks for the Merry, Merry Snowmen project.

Good morning, my friends. That most-hated task, grocery shopping, is finished for the week. We got off to a late start yesterday morning. It was after lunch time when we got home. We put everything away, had our lunch, and then we each took naps...pretty much required after a grocery shopping trip. Finally, I was able to get back to my sewing.

Good morning, my friends. When I wrote yesterday, I was getting ready to have breakfast with my friend, Sue. She has a birthday today. I arrived at the restaurant before she did, and I wandered around the parking lot looking at their natural garden. They had pretty anemones blooming...

And I like that they have a quilt block on their pump house.

So breakfast was good. They make a mean bowl of oatmeal there with lots of fresh fruit. Sue and I hadn't seen one another since before our Alaska trip. She's done some traveling ...

Good morning, my friends. I'm happy to say that the Stitchin' Wisdom quilt is finished! It's my first finish since returning from our trip. It took a while, but I turned the fourth corner before we needed to head out yesterday morning.

And there it is...a finished quilt. Almost exactly three years in the making. I started this quilt on August 21, 2022, and ...

Good morning, my friends. Our day didn't start out slow. We had to drop off our truck...again...and now we'll have to pick it up...again. This air conditioning problem is turning out to be more of a bugger than expected. Oh well. No one has died...yet...and so we count it as a good day. After leaving the truck, we did our grocery shopping. We were home before lunch time, and that left me with a whole day of slow-stitching ahead.

Do you remember the windshield episode...the one where we weren't even two hours on our way for our trip to Alaska when a gravel truck threw a rock and broke our windshield? Oh yeah...that was fun...and annoying.

My first stop was to use some things that have been hanging out in my freezer. I baked some cookies. These will be for taking along in the truck. We often eat something like a protein cookie or a Clif bar when we don't want to make a stop for lunch. These cookies are made with nuts, dried ...

Good morning, my friends, and welcome to Monday. April is winding up and May is bearing down on us. The merry month of May is when we'll begin our merry journey north, but we're still a few weeks away from that. Nevertheless, it's the start of a busy week, and May will only get busier as we go. 

Today I must make up a shopping list for a grocery shopping trip tomorrow. We might have been able to put it off for a day or two, but we're having the family over for dinner on Friday ...

Good morning, my friends, and welcome to Monday. April is winding up and May is bearing down on us. The merry month of May is when we'll begin our merry journey north, but we're still a few weeks away from that. Nevertheless, it's the start of a busy week, and May will only get busier as we go. 

Today I must make up a shopping list for a grocery shopping trip tomorrow. We might have been able to put it off for a day or two, but we're having the family over for dinner on Friday ...

Good morning, my friends. We're expecting a warmer day today, and even warmer tomorrow. This week's menu includes at least one main dish salad for eating outside. We love sitting out on our front patio for dinner, and we haven't yet had good enough weather for that. Since we'll be gone for a good part of the summer, we're trying to squeeze in as much alfresco dining as possible. 

We made several stops on yesterday's outing. Our health insurance company started an incentive program a couple of years back. If we go in for ...
