A Movie Day from Quilting My Way

Today is the day we were able to go out without having to wear a mask. It felt good. But there will still be days that I will wear a mask. We still have to wear them when we go to the doctors.

My beading tubes arrived today, so before we headed to the movies, I got busy on organizing my beads. The tubes are a little different because they are smaller at the bottom then they are on the top. That's okay, they will still fit in my trays. I just hope they don't tilt too much ...

Getting Ready For Thursday from Quilting My Way

This morning I wanted to get my label done on the QOV quilt that I started yesterday. Once I pulled it out, I was able to put the rest of it on. Then I put the label on Debbie's quilt that already was bound. Once that was done, I pulled out the 3rd quilt and started to work on the binding!

I put the binding on this quilt and just finished with the label. This is the quilt that Connie did. Now I have 8 quilts that will be going to the museum on Thursday. We have a presentation ...

A Day For The Movies from Quilting My Way

I actually slept in till about 10:30 am. I was tired and really didn't want to get up. Patrick went out to the garage to get ready for the people picking up the furniture he posted on Facebook "free." They came around 11:30 am and surprisingly they fit it all in their truck. It was 8 pieces of furniture - 2 desks, 2 speakers (old), an end table and a couple more things I can't remember. We were thrilled to get them out of the house and garage. It made room for a lot of stuff.

I ...

Movie Day from Quilting My Way

Today we were up early and moving a few things around. We put the 2 desks out in the garage. Scott came over to help Patrick with that. I cleaned up a few things. We are slowly but quickly getting ready for the carpet and floor to come in. I need to go through my drawers and clean that up as well as empty as much as I can. That way they can move the dresser.

Once that was done, we went to the movie about the "Cucci" family. I enjoyed it. Acting as awesome.  I remember a couple of ...

Went To The Movies from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up before Patrick. No plans were planned. So, we sat around in the morning, while I played games.

At about 11:30 am we decided to go to the movies. We watched "Encanto." It was really good. We were the first to get there, then more came into the theater. One family came just as the movie started and sat behind us. I really, really wanted to get up and move. I hate it when there is a whole theater to sit in and they decide to sit in front or behind me. Behind is worse ...

Movie Tuesday from Quilting My Way

I'm behind again! I completely forgot to do my blog last night.

Yesterday was on busy day. We were up and getting a few things cleaned up. Then I went downstairs to cut some batting and backing for the 2 quilt tops I have done. I will drop one off at Connie's and then I may or may not drop the other one at the church. The church has 3 and the last time I gave them 3, it took 4 months to get them all back. Half way through cutting for the next quilt, Patrick told me ...

Family and Movie Times Again and Yuletide Blanket from Canadian Needle Nana

This post was meant to be my Thankful Thursday one but life got in the way as we often note in Blogland.

We are catching up on some appointments and outings that were postponed because of the pandemic so have been busy with outings just about every day.

Littler grandson turned 8 and all the family got together for the first time in several years.

Our gift to him was drum lessons at the local School of Rock. He had his first lesson and enjoyed it.

Being able to go to a movie with older grandson again is wonderful! Dune ...

It Was A Good Saturday from Quilting My Way

I was playing (yes, as usual) on the tablet this morning. Then Patrick brought the mail in and I was thrilled to see the new panels I ordered.

I have 2 of these, which are pretty. They are different, which is what I like to do. After awhile doing the same panels gets a little old.

I liked this one, so got 3 of them. This will keep me busy for awhile. Even though I have more panels downstairs. We do get tired of the same panels, so this mixes things up.

While Patrick was doing yard work in the ...

Published from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my -- another magazine quilt published! This time it's in the Fons and Porter Quick + Easy Quilts. I hadn't forgotten about this quilt as I already have it back, and it's been sitting on the banister. I've been looking for the magazine for a while, but I couldn't it when I went to Indigo last week. The selection of magazines is pretty sketchy these days. Although I do find that some stores are better stocked than others.

December/January 2021 issue of Fons and Porter Quick + Easy Quilts

From time to time, I include a ...

Enjoying Movies And Stitching from Quilting My Way

Today we decided not to do much. So, we enjoyed the day at home. This coming week is going to be busy, so this is our way of enjoying a day of peace and quiet.

We enjoyed 3 Hallmark Channel movies. Yep, my hubby sat through them all.

So, I was stitching....

I kept the quilt folded as I stitched. I didn't want Sophie to get her hairs all over it. So, it was interesting how I was able to do that. Plus - of course! - I was playing games on my tablet. So far I have kept a lot ...

Just A Quiet Day - Not Much Going On from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and playing games. I like to play my weekend games.

Then I went to work on my beading. While I was starting to bead, Patrick brought in a few of the smaller tomatoes from the garden. They didn't seem to be growing much so I peeled the ones Patrick brought in. Then I cooked them for tomato sauce but Patrick wanted to make BBQ. So, before we headed out to the movies, I put what I had cooked in the refrigerator.

We saw "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." I loved it ...

Not A Day For Crafts from Quilting My Way

Today I was up and working on laundry, vacuuming and cleaning up.

Then at 11 we left to drop off my old sewing machine to Phil and Emily. Once that was done, we headed to the movies. We watched "Jungle Cruise" which was worth it! If you get the chance, go see it. Big screen is worth it!

After that we came back home. I played my games and got back to laundry. Folding and putting away as well as doing another load.

Then we headed out to eat. Went to a high end restaurant in town. Wasn't unhappy ...

What Can I Say? - It's Friday from Quilting My Way

This morning I found Sophie hiding!

I go that look of "What?!" She never used to sleep there, but lately in the last couple months she started to. I keep hoping she will go in the box part one of these day.

I headed to Safeway before heading to moms. She needed salad stuff for our lunch. It's nice to have a good salad on Fridays. Each week it's different and makes it more fun that way.

I took the scrap QOV blocks that mom and I were working on.

Mom had all the "pieces" done and I ...

Went To The Movies Today from Quilting My Way

Sometimes I think this is more a diary then it is of my crafts. Then again, I don't put too much personnel information on here. Guess that's not a diary after all.

This morning I was tired. I woke around 6 am coughing. I decided to go on the couch just so I wouldn't wake Patrick. I guess I really was tired because Patrick told me I slept till 10 am. I thought it was 9, but he said, "nope, 10 am." No wonder my morning disappeared so fast!

I worked on more letters for BE. Then ...

Comforts and Small Joys to Pass a Canadian Winter in Isolation from Canadian Needle Nana

We had a wolf moon last week- the first full moon of a new year. Early morning stepping onto the front veranda for wood I was surprised by how it looked so brilliant and illuminated the landscape.  This photo taken around 7:30 am. and look at those colours...cobalt? purples?  What colour(s) do you see|?

I am toting a lot of wood these days, part of the routine here in winter.  I'm pleased my joints aren't creaking though I think my arms may be an inch or two longer by the end of the winter. Never ...

Packing Up from Romany Quilting

Gemma let her feelings known, Christmas is over and it’s time to pack it all away, she thinks.  Why else would she be taking a swipe at Santa and knock him over?  She does look a little guilty, doesn’t she?

P1010489

Poor Santa

So the last day or two I’ve been packing the Christmas  things away, and putting the normal things back in place.  The brass needed a bit of attention, so I sat outside on the patio, rubber gloves on, cleaner and cloths to the ready, and started a little polishing.  These jugs usually reside on the ...

Inspiration, Indoor Gardening and Outside Chores, Fans Quilt, Free Patterns, from Canadian Needle Nana

We've been blessed for a week now with unseasonably warm temperatures. Just wonderful for walking outside and doing more chores like gathering kindling and window washing. Here is a look into one half of my indoor garden. I use the 3 step ladder for the washing- too bad if the window is higher than that! I just can't risk going any higher these days. You can see my kitchen window in the background and just beside the top of my shoulder is my camera with the good zoom pretty much set up there permanently.

While out there, I ...

Back to normal? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was a bizarre day. At the end of the day, I didn't feel like I had accomplished much. Why? Well, for starters, I did a couple of NORMAL things, and they both consumed a LOT of time. How quickly we forget how time-consuming errands can be!

I got my hair cut! And can you believe that I messed up the time? Got the right time (almost), but on the wrong date! Fortunately, Paula wasn't very busy, so she could accommodate me into her schedule. Seriously??  I had to laugh about it as I didn't even have ...

FINALLY - A Movie!! from Quilting My Way

I'm loosing it! I was sleeping till 10:30 am this morning!! I couldn't believe it. Reminded me of being in HS when I slept on weekends till noon or 1 pm. Funny how my parents didn't seem to mind till 1 pm.

I got started on roasting garlic for garlic bread. I didn't have a lot of time to do that. So, about 30 mins before leaving for the theater I was getting the bread ready to rise.

We headed out the door and went to the movie, "War With Grandpa." Loved it!! I laughed ...

Where Did The Week Go? from From the Strawberry Patch...

We had loads of fun at our granddaughter's outdoor, socially-distanced birthday party last Saturday. She and her friends decoupaged paper mache pumpkins, ate treats and tie-dyed T-shirts! I can't believe that's already been almost a week ago. Time has FLOWN by this week! So, where did the rest of this past week go?This pretty much sums up the week. I'm doing ruler work on a Metro Rings quilt.
