Small Plate Meals, and Super Bowl Food from From My Carolina Home

It is Super Bowl Sunday, and I am looking forward to the big game. It seems like this year’s game has the makings of a close scoring contest, the best kind. I love a hard fought game with lots of back and forth lead changes. For me, I am leaning toward the Eagles, but either way, I just want a fun game. Super Bowl Sunday means fun food, and I had to be sure I had the ingredients for my favorite football food dishes. I should have posted this last week, but I just ran out of time. Hopefully ...

Sunday Ham Dinner and Leftovers from From My Carolina Home

Are you cooking a ham today? It is a tradition in many households, and one that usually leaves a lot of leftovers. While having nice slices for sandwiches for a few days is nice, I usually want something else before we can finish it off.

See my post on Ham Dinner and Ham Casserole to see how I break down the ham after the meal and package it for later use. With just two of us, we would get tired of this fast if not for some creative cooking later.

Ham Apple Salad Wraps from From My Carolina Home

I had leftover ham from baking a large one recently. I wanted to do something different with the bits and pieces too small for slicing for sandwiches. Snacking Foods for an Appetizer Meal from From My Carolina Home

Time again to break out the appetizers for a heavy hors d’oeuvre menu! The Super Bowl comes at dinner time this year, a perfect time for finger foods. Even if you aren’t going to watch the game from Tampa, you still might enjoy a finger food meal for the Puppy Bowl, or perhaps a Sunday Movie night. I like some hot appetizers for cold days, and an addition of some chilled items make a great appetizer meal, and grazing during a sporting event. I have a new recipe for you today, along with a round up of some ...

Ham and White Bean Soup with Variations from From My Carolina Home

For many of us, Easter holiday usually means a ham dinner.  Even though we cannot be with family right now, maintaining tradition is important.  It helps us to feel like things are still somewhat normal.  After the ham has served for sandwiches and leftover meals for a few days, making a thick and hearty soup with the bone is a delicious way to make the most of what is left.
