What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Leaps and bounds of progress are being made. Well, not exactly, but I'm closer to getting everything done. I have a couple of hours of editing, and one of the critical deadlines will be done! I worked on the second critical deadline project and might get more done today. Then it'll get set aside until next weekend when it becomes my only priority! 

The Zoom calls went off without a hitch yesterday. And the two presentations for this morning are ready to go! Being organized and having a system works amazingly to making this all happen.

More progress is being made -- but it never seems fast enough. The tasks are getting completed, but are there enough days in which to complete all the tasks? 

Spring is definitely on its way, and I've now walked at least three mornings in a row with no hat! WOW! That's exciting, and the snow is melting like mad. 

I spotted this cardinal on the tree in the front -- not that they are a sign of spring, but all the birds are chirping like mad in the morning.

I am trying to figure out what is happening with the blog. There used to be a link on the page where you could sign up for e-mails, and each day, you'd get an e-mail with the link to the blog. That doesn't seem to be happening, and then I hear from people that they just got an e-mail. Then others say they are no longer getting it. ACK!!! I have no control over that! The link is still there, but it doesn't work -- I should investigate and remove it!

 I should schedule some time to go through ALL my quilts and take pictures of them, whether they are finished or in the "to be quilted" stage. Then I need to zero in on the details of those that are noteworthy! That would save me digging through all the tubs! But then I must also search through all my existing photos and tag and sort them. But I don't have the time for that! So I must sort and file the ones I take so I don't have to retake those. 

I'm pretty good about it, but ...

 From time to time, one must charge the Fitbit. I had plugged it in the other day, only to realize that the charger was not connected to anything! Oops. 

So I had it charging yesterday morning. I try to put my phone under the Fitbit as it charges, so as I grab my phone, I'll remember to grab the Fitbit. That did NOT happen, and I was part way through my walk with Murphy when I realized - no Fitbit. NO!! 

I was a bit dismayed, but I soon got over it. I can simply not track that distance (about ...

 OK --- so how many of you are saving the "good" stuff for a special day? Don't use the good china - that's for a special day? Or the linens, the new shirt, or whatever item you save for a special day?

I hear so many stories of people going into their parent's home to clean it out and finding so many items that are brand new and were being saved for a special day. A friend gave some nice embroidered kitchen towels to some friends, and they all said they were too nice to be used daily. So ...

It was too good to be true. My "new" phone is not working. Yep --- I'm so frustrated that I could just throw it away. For the moment, I'm banning all phone calls in or out and will do everything by text or e-mail. So if you want to call me, DON'T. I won't be answering my phone until I can figure this out. 

Here's the silly thing -- it's the SAME problem with two different phones. So one would think it can't be the phone. So you blame the carrier. However, the call ...

Well, well  --- another hurdle has been passed. There are two UFO sessions this morning, and will anyone be paying money? Late last night, I felt like the Little Engine that Could late last night and early this morning. "I think I can, I think I can." Then that changed to "I know I can. I know I can." You'll just have to wait until tomorrow to see if the little train pulled into the station - on time!

Yesterday was a much calmer day! Phew --- I've had so much excitement lately that I wasn't sure I could handle more! 

Before I forget, let me share the story of the lotto scratch ticket. I found the ticket when I was cleaning up - wait, I have another funny story to share about that! So I found this three-part scratch ticket. It wasn't completely scratched, and when I looked on the back, there was NO expiry date, so why not?

I found something that might help with the legs of that quilting table, and while the table has adjustable legs, I NEED much more than I can get from those adjustments. More on that another day!

We all know that you must be careful when searching the internet as sometimes you don't necessarily get what you want. At least my secondary search was CLEAN but unexpected.

Yep -- I have the best friends ever! I love our Virtual Monday Sewing Group! So much fun to get together, and you would think after this long that we would run out of things to talk about. Nope! However, we have ZERO tolerance for anything political, those who used to be royals, and COVID (anything related to policy). I never want to shut someone down on a call, but if I have to, I will!

Have you noticed that if you type dog backward that it spells god? Yes -- sometimes, I think that is their attitude! At least at my house. 

I saw a host of funny dog pictures yesterday as the dogs got out in the snow, and for some of them, it was their first time! Hilarious! 

My girls? They've seen snow before, but they have fun on the first day. 

I swear these girls hate having their picture taken. I plop them in the snow and ask them to look at me; this is what I get! They can't even ...

OK --- so the lawn furniture got put away. Phew -- we can all rest easy now. It wasn't so much the furniture; it was shutting off the tap to the backyard that was the critical thing here. I noticed that DH put one piece in the shed, but it was the largest piece, making it a challenge to get the rest in there. But I managed. And I drained 200 feet of garden hose, and it's all stored away. The deck is mostly swept -- I would have used the leaf blower, but it was at the back of the ...

I've been humbled! Someone thought I was getting along too well, and I was brought to my knees. Personally, I think someone has a voodoo doll of me and stuck pins in my head! My sinuses just had a field day with me yesterday, and I was brought down! 

That and the damn phone, which I'll mention in a minute. 

During Monday's sewing, we had been chatting about sleeping. Yes -- I have my bad nights, just like everyone else. For the most part, I have zero trouble sleeping. On Monday night, I went to bed and fell ...

This has definitely been a transition year for all of us. Some of us are comfortable being out and about, while others are not. Then new outbreaks occur, and we move back to our bubbles. It's crazy trying to organize something, especially with the demographic we find in quilters. And we have become comfortable in our Zoom worlds!!

I'm writing this at night because I'll be on the road early on my way to Kingston! And I owe you some e-mails and some comments on the blog, so be patient!

Oh my --- we seem to be having some PASSIONATE discussions on our Zoom calls lately. Yes -- I am pretty opinionated, and well, some of those discussions come onto the blog, as in the cost of those fabric kits. I have another issue about that, but no time this morning. 

I will say that we are all still friends and have no hard feelings. We did have a great time at the Virtual Retreat, and we met Debbie again, who has walked a Camino! That was exciting, but I didn't want to bore the rest of the group to death ...

Well, it was a crazy day, and I got lots done. I just didn't get everything done that I had hoped to! Why is that? Because everything takes a long time to do and I did a few extra things. So I'll be working on that other stuff later today!

There is a thief amongst us, and I will have to do something about it. I hate when people do things behind you and don't come clean.

How many of you checked out the challenges the other day? For one of them, the idea popped into my head when I read the title and saw the colors. I've done some research, and it's possible, but it will require a wee bit of finagling to make it happen the way I want. The best time to start is NOW. 

OK -- so hopefully, some of you watched that 10-minute video on the Amazon tour. It's quite fascinating, but that does NOT make me want to buy from them. Not in the least. And I think they ...

I'm so amazed at what I'm accomplishing. I have ZERO ideas about where the drive comes from, but I'm so happy that I found something creative and useful to do in this "downtime." Technically, I could be working well ahead on my homework projects, but that will come later, and then YEP -- I'll be in a mad panic, but then where would the fun be without some panic? 

I know one way I'm able to get so much done is to be EFFICIENT. Make every movement or step count, and I've been getting in ...
