We've got company! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Well, I don't seem to have a lot to show for all my work yesterday. And there are days when I think back to what I did the day before, and I have to search really hard. The days, especially when it comes to decluttering and sewing, can run endless one into the other!

I did some puttering during Monday sewing, and I had a few more hourglass units to trim. Speaking of hourglass units, here's an update in that area.

So you saw these units that I stitched at the retreat.

Hourglass units created at the retreat ...

Getting old is NOT an option! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It sucks to get old! For anyone with an aging parent or spouse, you know that the highlight of their days is the next appointment with a medical specialist!

DH has three siblings, none of whom live remotely close to us, so the task of dealing with his MIL falls on him. He's been a wee bit busy these days, so I've had to help out. Yesterday, I had to take her to a specialist dentist to remove a broken tooth. That wee errand took almost FOUR hours!

If my experience was typical, and I suspect it was ...

Flatten those boxes! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- -so you are all way smarter than I am about my own stuff. I have a Shop-Vac! DUH!! So yes -- that set of black vacuum attachments belongs to that! Good grief  - that doesn't say much for me! I own too many things and do not use them often; one forgets what one has!

I'm happy to report that most floors are vacuumed and washed. A bit more furniture has to be moved before I can vacuum and wash the remainder. The cleaning lady is coming today, so she will vacuum and wash. I'll try to get ...

Focusing gets the job done from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Another fantastic day with the Monday sewing group. If you haven't joined an online sewing group yet, you're missing some great entertainment. We chat about everything and anything, and it's just a hoot. We help each other, solve problems and actually get some work done! I think Zoom sewing groups or groups of any kind will never go away. Imagine if a friend moves away - they can still be part of the group. People from all over the world can participate!

I'm playing catchup today with some photos sitting here and no time to post them ...

Virtual Challenge FINISH from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

In all the years I've been posting to this blog, I've never had an issue with writer's block. How could I when my life is crazy? And it sure helps to look on the bright side of everything. I have behind-the-scenes issues and concerns just like everyone else, but I choose to keep them behind the scenes and keep their impact on my life small.

I've so much to share today! First -- to catch up on those couple of photos I've been promising. Here's the first one - the keyboard situation.

Here's a picture ...

Wind Damage from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

AH -- thanks to Maryke; I know that if you subscribe to my blog on the little widget on the top, that you'll get an e-mail each day without having to go to Bloglovin'. Thanks for letting me know that. It's always a challenge to know if something works the way it's supposed to when you are the owner/maker because you are logged into your account, and it works, but what happens if you're not logged in?

We had a fantastic show and tell in our machine embroidery club. WOW -- everyone is working on some super ...

Getting a blog post via e-mail from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The information about my classes is near the end of today's post.

Wow-what an exciting day!!! My two lectures and two classes went well. That leaves two more club meetings for this year. Then there are the Monday sewing and the Virtual Retreat, which don't require any prep, one virtual holiday lunch, and one work meeting. Then I'm DONE for the year as I don't consider any of the above onerous to prep or attend.

Freedom!!!  What will I  do with my days? Cough, choke, sputter! I don't think that'll be too difficult to ...

Found it! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I did it -- I survived the crazy month of November. OK -- so I know that November isn't over yet, and I still have things to do, but the worst of the month is over, and I can sort of coast along now! It was loads of work, but I learned a ton of stuff, and always great to stay in touch with everyone via Zoom.

I said goodbye to three different groups this past week, and after being with them for four or six weeks, you feel connected to them! Thanks to everyone who attended the classes, and I ...

The neighborhood watchers from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Who knew two weeks ago that I would actually get all that work done, and I would survive and even find a few spare moments to watch The Great British Bake Off? That Paul guy is pretty darn good-looking. And I must STOP thinking about baking something. Good grief -- what is happening to me?

I still have two presentations today, a Facebook Live and one of my own classes tonight. The weekend will be entirely on Zoom, but I have minimal prep, so it's all fun stuff, and I can't wait!

There are still two weeks of "work ...

Nothing beats learning by doing! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Where is the week going? It's now Thursday, and there are two days left of the sewing marathon. Well, not exactly, because Saturday and Sunday are jam-packed as well, but it's not the same. Those are FUN days where I get to sew and embroider and NO MORE PREP.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! Don't eat too much turkey!

The spin class was crazy -- it's starting to get busy, and I was surrounded by people on all sides. That hasn't happened in a while. But no worries -- we just get in there and turn ...

Caught red-handed! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The week is progressing quite nicely. I had two presentations yesterday, and both were almost ready, so they took no time to finish up. Just that switch-a-roo with the sewing machines and the language of the software.

But all was good. I'm in CONTROL!!

I prepped as much as I could for the three reveal presentations this weekend. I did a wee bit of writing and paperwork, although more needs to be done this morning. And I NEED to get to the long arm.

I'm also a slacker, and well, I couldn't help myself. I could watch ...

On a roll with applique from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH! While I still have deadlines, none of them are super urgent, and I let everything slide yesterday. There was a problem with that, though. I didn't know what to do! It was bizarre to be as free as that!

Don't worry - I made good use of my time. We had a super time during our Monday sewing session. Lots of fun and laughter, and I was entertained while working on the applique for my current UFO. I almost feel like I shouldn't share with you what happened. But I don't care -- here is what I ...

Around the neighborhood from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Phew -- -that was a crazy week last week, and the weekend wasn't much better. However, the good news is that all the writing assignments are done. OK -- that's not exactly true, there are still four to write, but they can wait a wee bit. All the homework from the weekend classes has been sent, and that's an awesome way to start the week.

Yep -- it's another week heavy on the presentations, and five (well, technically four, since one presentation is given twice) requires some prep work, but three of them won't require much time. So ...

Living Day to Day from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I hate to say that I'm living this week from day to day, but I am. There's so much going on and still lots to prep and fit in some writing that I can't focus beyond the current day. Today is a bit of a wild card. Why? I have NO presentations. Well, that's not true. I do have a presentation, but it's IN-PERSON! Now, how weird is that?

I'm at the Stratford Quilter's Guild, but I'm unsure if they are taking guests. I had to go through the quilt collection yesterday ...

What's new is really old! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I caved! I had to watch the other two episodes of The Great Canadian Baking Show. I am a junky for that kind of thing, and since I cannot control myself very well, I try to refrain from getting hooked! Now when is Episode 5 playing?

I cringe at the stress level they must experience for the duration of each challenge. I mean, some of the contestants are making stuff they've never heard of! The show was taped in the summer in a non-air-conditioned tent, so you can imagine the challenge of working with some of the ingredients!

Then ...

Tobaggan Hill from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's one of those nights. I have no idea why I woke up when I did. I'm not tired, yet I'm not full of energy. So rather than lay in bed, I'm up and at the computer, which is ridiculous! Hopefully, I'll get a couple of hours of sleep before the girls want me to take them for a walk! I've canceled my reservation for the spin class this morning, which is disappointing, but I don't think I'll survive - I'll need to go back to bed shortly.

Lots happened yesterday, but ...

Time to sew! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Super day alert!!! I accomplished a lot yesterday! OK -- not everything I should be working on, but that's OK - all progress is good!

I tried printing something, and of course, my printer wouldn't work. So I'm going to attempt that again today! I swear, there are days when technology crashes on me, just to keep me humble!

I am determined to NOT let any of those year-long classes become a UFO so let's see what happened. One of the projects is done, which you'll see when I post the show and tell. But one down ...

Fun Friday! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Not to bore you with my UPS package, but it's in the right state, so it should be delivered on Monday! Yippee!!!!

I can't wait until I have another package to send to see how to fix this commercial invoice problem! It doesn't matter, the package is arriving one business day late, and I can certainly live with that!

It makes me laugh because when I worked for a fabric company, which was concerned about the cost of shipping things but had zero issues with shipping overnight instead of 5 days. So what's the difference? Well ...

Can you tell me WHY? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The first order of the day was to try and clear that UPS package that was stuck. And to figure out why this keeps happening?

I called customer support, and immediately, the customer service rep pushed me through to International shipments, not like last time, where they tried to fix it, and we lost several days because of that. I wasn't going to let them get away with it this time, as I prepared to grill them if they were the right person! I knew better! I patiently waited on the phone and finally got in touch with someone ...

Challenges from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Have you ever wondered how "easy" life would be if we didn't have challenges? Now I should explain that there are two kinds of challenges -- those that we intentionally dive into - like my virtual challenges and, of course, quilt challenges. And then there are those that we don't want to come into our lives.

Like this....................

Yes -- I got an e-mail in the middle of the night about the latest UPS box I sent. Are you kidding me? I double and triple-checked that all the paperwork was complete. And now the darn parcel is held up again. I ...
