Going On, Growing On... from From the Strawberry Patch...

You may remember that I began this perennial garden, located just outside of my sewing room, two years ago. I've had some good luck, some bad luck and have learned a TON along the way! So, two years later, I have a lovely and peaceful space that is filling in and providing much enjoyment. I have moved, dug up and transplanted many things, all part of the learning curve. I'm rewarded with the

It’s All About Love from Adele Mogavero

It’s not about the hokey pokey people. It’s all about love. Of all the Fruits of the Spirit, I believe having love for others is the ultimate goal. And the hardest. Oh, it’s easy to adore the people you care about when they’re doing what ....

Our Nation Under Attack from Where Art & Life Meet

When I was nine years old my father had a horseback riding accident, broke his back and almost died. He never fully recovered. Flashes of disparate memories are all I have left from that time. The beautiful gold cat pin my grandmother gave me with an emerald belly, ruby eyes and when I lost it… Continue reading Our Nation Under Attack

Merry Christmas! from Where Art & Life Meet

When I was young, on December 24th we had a special Christmas eve dinner and then we would open our Christmas presents under the Christmas tree. If we were visiting my grandmother at her house in Colorado, we did the same. The only difference was that she had live candles on her tree and no… Continue reading Merry Christmas!

Marriage & An Anniversary from Where Art & Life Meet

Today is my 20th wedding anniversary to this guy. To say that I feel lucky doesn’t begin to tell the whole story. We met at a Christmas party on Christmas Day in 1998. Neither of us were expecting to meet the person that would completely change our lives, and yet, that’s exactly what happened. I… Continue reading Marriage & An Anniversary

Blessed Beyond Measure from From the Strawberry Patch...

Yesterday was one day to reflect on what we're truly thankful for, to give voice to the blessings in our lives. We gathered with family around our son's table and did just that. My greatest blessing is the love of this one man. We've been together since high school; the span between these two snapshots in time is almost fifty years. We are thankful to God for health, for family and for blessings

Giving Thanks from Where Art & Life Meet

Jack Kornfield, American author and teacher, who trained in Thailand as a Buddhist monk, did an exercise where he asked everyone to imagine they were close to death. And then he asked – in those final moments what held the most importance for them. Most people did not list all the things they’d accomplished, prizes… Continue reading Giving Thanks

Organizing Threads, Stitching & Love from Where Art & Life Meet

Every now and then my work space becomes unmanageable. I’m not the most organized person, but I know where everything is in my little chaotic work area, until it reaches a point when I can’t stand it any more. So yesterday I did what my husband always does (he’s a masterful organizer) when he’s organizing… Continue reading Organizing Threads, Stitching & Love

A Quilted Hug from From the Strawberry Patch...

After learning the news about my dear friend (and former neighbor) who's currently going through chemotherapy for a recent lymphoma diagnosis all I could think of is "what can I do?" She lives in Oklahoma, so not only is distance a factor in feeling helpless, but my current state of worry over infecting someone with anything, (let alone a dreaded virus) when their immune system is wiped out is

Round up of FREE Flag patterns & UFO commitment from Pat Sloan's Blog

Pat sloan UFO busting

*** UFO BUSTING ***

My word of the Year is to 'Be Intentional'

While mulling over our calendar for July, I decided that the focus will be on UFOs (UnFinished Objects).  One thing I need to really focus on is how many of these projects that are started do I want to finish.  And then I have to 'Intentionally' make that happen. July is the month!

I know a few of you do not have UFOs (what???) and I know a few of you would rather sew something new during the month. Luckily there are several sew along going on for July ...

With Grace, Love, And Fellowship from Adele Mogavero

Grace, Love, and Fellowship. I think it’s a perfect description of quilting. Especially when you’re creating something and gifting it to someone. It’s an expression of love. The three blocks we’re creating this week are so similar, it seemed like a great idea to do ....
