On an adventure! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH --- I just remembered that I had to tell you about the second package I sent with Canada Post. Remember, the first one went in a bubble pouch and arrived sometime the next day but late in the afternoon. The second one (in a box) arrived the next day but before NOON. So when the post office says better service, they mean it! Was that a fluke, the location of the receiver? No idea, but both packages were delivered!

Well, I did it! I tackled that darn table in the office. I can do anything when there's a REWARD ...

You will never be bored if you have a dog or two from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

WOW --- -what a wild weekend. I'm almost thankful for Monday and only a sewing Zoom to attend! There are so many lightbulbs going on, and people are getting excited about the possibilities of what they can do with their tools. I don't know how the rest of the groups felt, but I was WAY overstimulated yesterday. My brain was going in a thousand different directions, so I decided to walk to calm everything down.

Of course, Miss Murphy was right at the door, begging for a second walk. I told her I would take her if we could ...

The leaning tree is still leaning from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH my -- I see you are all putting me to the test with comments! I'll be answering them very soon!

I found something that might help with the legs of that quilting table, and while the table has adjustable legs, I NEED much more than I can get from those adjustments. More on that another day!

You see, there was a reason that I had to get that Platinum 160 together. I had a visitor yesterday who came to rent the machine. And YES -- it needed to be up! I spent about 15 minutes explaining the machine to her ...

New habits from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

There are TWO new habits that I want to add to my OCD behavior this year. One is to write in The Happiness Project book every day! It takes no time at all, and the second is to respond to ALL the comments in a timely manner that people post on the blog. So far -- I'm good!

As M (my daughter) mentioned and I had planned, The Happiness Project book (that's the blue book I just found again) is by my bed, as well as those new snazzy colored gel pens. My writing sucks, and it is even ...

What habits do you want to learn? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh --- running short on time this morning; I'll deal with the comments tomorrow. I love comments, so thanks for sending them along.

We all know that you must be careful when searching the internet as sometimes you don't necessarily get what you want. At least my secondary search was CLEAN but unexpected.

I was searching for the power tower, so I could figure out where to buy it. This is what I wanted. I love the bilingualism in the photo. The measurements on the left are in inches, and those on the right are in millimeters. A true ...

Pandora has escaped! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH  --- be careful what you wish for! There was a reason that basket of half-square triangles was languishing on my ironing board!

I see that some people do not have an issue with leaving things on the ironing board as they put the ironing surface away at the end of the day. It's not that they are crazy --- it's a case of sewing in a living area and not wanting the ironing board in the way. I know I will likely have that arrangement at some point, but for the moment, there's no need to take mine ...

Decluttering the iron board! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Well, I'm a big liar! When I wrote that my space is in good shape, if I had been Pinocchio, I couldn't have sat in front of the computer as my nose would have been too long!

OK -- so it's not that bad, but there are definitely things that need to be dealt with, and so I  will be right there with you as we clean up our spaces. This time next year --- I'll have EVERYTHING under control! I can hardly wait!

I am being truthful when I say that NO MAJOR issues need to be ...

Jigsaw puzzle fun! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Someone posted an interesting comment about Louise Penny's book - The Beautiful Mystery (published in 2012). Gamache was partially inspired by her late husband (Micheal Whitehead), the Former Director of Hematology at Montreal Children's Hospital. He got dementia and eventually died in the fall of 2016. I know from following her blog that he was ill for many years, and this is likely the rationale for the troubled storyline in the books. The timeline would be right. Gamache was also inspired by  Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird and Jean Gamache, a tailor in Granby, QC.

Louise has ...

Coincidence - I think not! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm so in my happy place these days. I'm making great progress in Studio B, getting work done and clearing things out. Even though the holidays are close by, I don't (by choice) have to rush around prepping things, buying, or making gifts! No baking and no place to go! I'm somewhat like my mother because I'm a home body and I'm perfectly OK with that. I'm surrounded by enough technology to keep me happy and in touch with others.

No cooking (leftovers are great), and I don't think I would do ...

Company! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Where is the month going? It's December 8 already, and while I've got lots done, I have yet to finish up much. I have about one more week of quilting, and then I was going to start on some more community project quilts. However, I've decided that I'm going to stop and take a break. Well, not exactly. I will focus on getting the last things cleared up in Studio B. There are lots of quilts to bind, a few things on the cutting table to finish off, go through the box of clothing, etc. So ...

Who turned out the lights? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Should I or shouldn't I? That's the big question right now about my phone. After our Monday sewing, I went to the mall to chat again with the Bell folks. I could get a new phone, but the S21 is obsolete, so that's not an option. This means I'd have to go with the S22, which requires a new case. Why? Because someone is going to make more money that way! The guy in the store even said so! That is very wasteful as my phone case is perfectly useful, but who will want it?

They ...

A can of worms! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yikes -- I see Torry is on Book FOUR of The Seven Sisters series! I finished Book Two and needed a break! She will be ready when the 8th book comes out sometime next year. I'll be behind - as usual. But that's OK. I don't mind.

Having a decent narrator for the audiobooks sure makes a difference. I'm currently listening to an audiobook (more about where it came from another day), but the narrator is literally reading (not narrating) the book. No inflection; she barely takes a breath. The nature of the book is simple, but the ...

More of the same! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- so I've developed a routine, and it's pretty boring! But have you ever noticed how much of your life is routine? And routine is good -- it allows your brain to focus on other things; otherwise, we would be exhausted making decisions all day long!

Things happened, although it was a "fairly" routine day. The first excitement of the day that resulted in my good deed was when I walked Murphy. I saw a vehicle back out of the driveway (I was practically beside the car, but it was NOT ever a danger to me). But they backed ...

And so the healing begins from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The Camino Frances (from Saint Jean Pied de Port) to Santiago is 778 KM for those interested in numbers. I walked 190 KM, so almost 1/4 of the route. My memory has wiped out the gory details, but other than day one, I think I walked with blisters. Am I looking for sympathy? No, but I would have enjoyed it much more without the feet issues!

I will go back -- I'm just unsure if I'll start where I left off or go back to the beginning. I'll see how it goes. I've been reflecting a ...

Did I miss summer? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I dug out all my camping gear to see if there was anything I could use on this trip. I got the sleeping bag liner -- it's going to be too hot for the sleeping bag, and if I'm cold -- I'll use my sarong as an extra blanket, and wear my down jacket, which I still need to dig out. I loaded a book and my crossword book into the backpack and got the scale.

Only 7.5 pounds!

Yippeee --- only 7.5 pounds. So I still have to add the jacket, another set of clothes, my toiletries ...

Productive day! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm feeling pretty relaxed this morning! I'm going away AGAIN for a couple of days and I have to confess that I didn't run around yesterday trying to get a ton of stuff done and that feels AMAZING.

I still have some paperwork to do, but could it be there's a light at the end of the tunnel? At least to get caught up on all the mundane stuff that has to be done? I doubt it because it seems the more you do, the more administrative stuff needs to be done. Or there is something ...

Progress on all accounts from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I got LUCKY!!! Even though that grey fabric is years old, I found a shop in Ontario that still has it in stock! Yeah! She will be sending me a half meter next week, so I can make the binding for my quilt! As I said -- I got lucky, and it wasn't critical that I use that fabric for the binding, as I could have found something else. Still, it shows that you must be flexible in creating something, especially from fabric you purchased years ago, because you might not find more if you need it!

I was busy ...

Out with the old, in with the new! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH shoot -- I goofed on the one-sided paper acronym. It's GOOSe, which stands for "good on one side, EH!" Anyway, I found a lot more GOOSe yesterday, and it's been added to the pile for printing.

I finally got through that pile of receipts, and I did keep a few that I'll sort through later. But the majority of it is gone. More on that in a minute. DH had the gall to ask why I didn't just dump it without sorting. He hasn't learned that I have to do things MY way or it ...

Geocaching by bike from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It would almost appear that I've lost my commitment to quilting! I haven't - but I'm just trying to get other things done and show you (and me) that I'm not a one-trick pony!

I walked the girls yesterday and did a few chores around the house because now that things are looking great, they have to stay that way! And then I was upstairs to see what I could do about that massive stack of receipts. Yes -- I could have taken the lot and dumped it in the box that goes to the shredder, but that ...

Systemic decluttering from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my -- there's so much to say and so little time! But I'm happy to report that the one writing assignment is done! But there are still two patterns to write, and another huge writing assignment is looming. And a few quilts need quilting, but I might take today just for me! Well, more of the day than I usually would. I have some essential shopping ahead of me, and if I don't get it done soon, I will be in big trouble. More on that another day.

I also feel like crap this morning as I ...
