One more section done and being attached. I was asked if this top is heavy – I guess because of the papers? I take the papers out as I join sections so the only paper in it is around the edges so I don’t find it any heavier than any other quilt this size and […]
read moreOne day it is 40 degrees and two days later 78, humid and so humid in the house I put the A/C on in the evening to chase the humidity out! crazy. I said I was going to take a couple days away from the sewing machine and I didn’t touch it other to make […]

I'm a bit proud to have kept this one alive and kicking. And thanks Mary Anne, Magpie's Mumblings, for that tip about banana skin water being excellent for houseplants too. We eat a lot of bananas so I will definitely be adding it to the mixtures rather than straight to composting. Finally yesterday as it was such a chilly breezy day I was inside sewing and got all the rows together – now a border and it will be ready to go on the quilting frame next. But first I will need to get this pressed good today before I cut out pieces for a border. […]
read moreJust a little quilting got done on Tuesday evening – I didn’t push it after getting the injections done and today didn’t succeed in getting much done either. Of course that might be because a bit of house cleaning got done instead (I tend to push that off more than I used to). I am […]
read moreOur early spring has gone away and we have a chance for freezing on Tuesday and it has been nothing but chilly weather (40’s) for several days now – I knew our cool weather was not gone – but that means with this rainy chilly weather and an audio book to listen to that progress […]
read moreYesterday I got 10 more diamonds done leaving 12 more to do – I will try to finish those today. These are in pairs – two of each. Added to the wall – this project was started last year with the Snails Trail block with SoScrappy’s Rainbow Scrap Challenge, just the bottom portion to go […]
read moreAnother nice day – after looking at the weather outlook I know we will have a couple more nice days before the rain and chill comes back but I don’t think it will be as cold as the weathermen seemed to be getting overly excited about last week calling it our “third winter” of the […]
read moreYesterday although I got my batting cut for the next pieced batting I never got it done – my excuse? I just didn’t feel like it!! But it is ready for me! I did get some work done on the hexies and I will continue that for Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy – one more […]
read moreI got one bag of the scrap batting that I showed yesterday squared away and hope to get the pressing tape on it today. I knew I had some of the pressing tape but had to really look for it! It was hidden among all the treasures stashed here and there. The one section that […]
read moreSunday was such a nice day that I didn’t get done with as much stitching in the daytime as I had planned. I met Melanie at some trails and we walked the dog and got in some walking. It got up to 60 degrees while we were there! It was a long sleeve t-shirt under […]

Today I will not turn the sewing machine on but instead I will work on Norkio’s Star and knit a little bit. Maybe take a walk as well. After 3 or 4 days of sewing machine piecing I need a break from it – so for Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy’s Quilts it will be […]
read moreYesterday got off to a slow start while I was communicating with an Etsy Shop about the pattern I wanted for the combo pattern with Snails Trail. I love it when the person on the other end magically – it seems at times – is right there answering your questions. It makes life so much […]

For Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy and all the gang of slow stitches around the world I will work on these hexies (and knitting). I am also linking to Quilting is More Fun Than Housework — Life […]
read moreI really didn’t get done with a lot but I did play with hexies off and on throughout the day going over color ideas, pulling forgotten fabric off of this shelf and that – hiding under stacks of fabrics. Some will be used – other pieces won’t – others will still come out of hiding […]

I had intended to start working on the border yesterday for Rainbow Crossings and never got to it. Instead I was grocery shopping before the expected winter storm that will bring a little snow – […]
