WIP's List!, Basket Case Finish, Magpie Art and Squirrels from Canadian Needle Nana

Breakfast in front of the fire.

And from another angle. Smile says me; I am says he.
Our Christmas was certainly never busy. I used to feel the need to deep clean everything before the big day but I won't bother this year with just the three of us here. Of course, some deep diving into totes and storage drawers would be a good thing but I have to be in the mood for that. Perhaps I'll feel like it more when the Christmas things have to go away.

Basket Case has moved along nicely just this week ...

Links, Christmasy Fingernails, Nature Scene and A Favourite Bird from Canadian Needle Nana

We've had a good week here at the wooden house or as SIL says "in the pines". Got in enough exercise to feel vindicated in treating ourselves to dessert and got our Christmas gift list in order to name a couple of things. The cut off for delivery to Canada was midweek so that stopped the dithering and we got our decisions made and everything ordered. Not that there is that much because our family circle is tiny.

So here is a little round up of the minute joys and tiny things that I am happy/thankful/grateful for ...

Christmas Gifts, Cozy Walmart Buy, Thrift Store Find, Appliqued Fox and Others from Canadian Needle Nana

It's a dull weather day today as we brace for snowfall later this afternoon, the first real snow of the year. It is thanks to conditions far away...something called a Colorado low.  See how connected we are, my American friends.

Whimsical Foxes, Applique, Christmas Quilting Tutorials, Netflix Viewing from Canadian Needle Nana

You know I like whimsical...especially involving mice, fox, deer, dogs, bunnies; well I guess any critters actually. I love the details in this scene below.

Snug little fox with her knitting, cup of tea and pizza slice. And note the dream catcher on the wall and the tiny cowboy boots.  Does a scene like this make you feel cosy and snug too? As far as I can find out this illustration is from a children's book called Jezeva Kucica by Branko Copic.  Translation, The Hedgehog's House. If you know more about the artist, please let me know ...

Autumn's Palette, Delicious Gifts, Embroidery, A Free BOM and QAL from Canadian Needle Nana

I bet you would not be able to guess which of the garden plants this little leaf came from. The strange weather this year- cold and then very warm again, seems to have made for interesting patterns in the fading leaves. This is from the old rose bush and the ground was covered yesterday with similarly patterned leaves. Such a pretty autumn palette.

I received a wonderful gift in the mail from Amazon beautifully wrapped in this organza bag.
A total surprise from Hubby. I had no idea Amazon wraps gifts so beautifully. I will share more about this book ...

Kindness is In, Baskets and Parachutes Applique, Rebecca- the Movie, A Thanksgiving Cactus from Canadian Needle Nana

I dreamt the other night that I was swimming. It is a recurring dream and the water is what this dream is about. It's an ocean with warm, clear blue-green water. (Nothing like the North Atlantic at home where I grew up). It feels beautiful as I effortless swim through it. I'm thinking all the while, this is so wonderful. I'm a much better swimmer in this dream than in real life where what I do barely qualifies as swimming. I've had this same dream very occasionally but going back some 45 years; it is like ...
