Good morning, my friends, and a happy weekend to you! We're back from our little boating trip over to Starbuck, Washington. I've spent the past half hour (at least) sorting through pictures and trying to pick out the best ones for editing. My Photoshop Elements editor has been giving me grief during this process. It seems I can only load so many pictures for editing at a time. Three times, I've selected one picture over another and then deleted the first one from my editor. It was wise to take a day off from driving. We'll be back on the road this morning with the last 300-plus-mile day of the trip. Tomorrow's journey home will be shorter. 

We all made good use of our day, resting up and puttering around. It seemed like a good day for baking a new dessert. I found a recipe recently for "Chocolate Self-Saucing Cake," and I set about turning it into a dessert for two. Cutting the recipe by half and then baking it in a 6-inch cake pan, it looked like this when it came out ...

There was a pretty sunrise this morning. I love the sunrises and sunsets in Nevada. There are pretty sun events everywhere, I guess, but it seems the ones in Nevada are more predictably pretty. I watched this morning's for quite a while and took a bunch of pictures. I was hoping to capture just the moment when it peeked over the mountains, but I got bored after a while. This was the best of the pictures I took this morning.

There was a pretty sunrise this morning. I love the sunrises and sunsets in Nevada. There are pretty sun events everywhere, I guess, but it seems the ones in Nevada are more predictably pretty. You might remember I was going to try a recipe for a slow cooker French onion soup last week. Then, I realized my slow cooker didn't have enough volume for the amount of onions I wanted to include. The onions are started dry in the slow cooker, and I felt as if I needed to monitor it when I tried it the first time. Ordinarily, I don't give too much thought to things catching on fire in the kitchen, but in this case, I felt more comfortable starting it up on a day when I could be around ...

There comes a day in every RVer's life when we have to do some adult things. Yesterday was one of those days. We started out grocery shopping and then continued on with laundry. It was past time to wash our bed sheets. I figured it I was going to walk to the park laundry, I might as well do a load of jeans too. It meant walking back and forth, up and down a steep hill, four times to finish the laundry. I figure I got my exercise. By day's end, we felt like old people. And, if ...

There comes a day in every RVer's life when we have to do some adult things. Yesterday was one of those days. We started out grocery shopping and then continued on with laundry. We enjoyed a pretty Arizona sunrise this morning. It's our last day here. We'll move on to Flagstaff tomorrow, and we'll be on a serious trek toward home with just a few more sight-seeing items along the way. 

We were slow getting moving yesterday morning. Possibly rattling our bones on our ride the day before made the difference. I noticed this sign...somewhere...in internet land. It seemed to capture the spirit of ATVing.
