SUNRISE, SUNSHINE, SUNSET from Q-BITS

I live in the banana belt of Colorado, where the sunrises are glorious, and the sunsets are wonderful going down behind the mountains.  In between the rise and set, we have sunshine 300+ days a year.  It is a blessing to live in my native state of Colorado.

This is my last quilt for 2023.  A New Year is upon us, and the sun will rise again tomorrow.
I wish you the joy of God's love, health, safety,  and peace in 2024.

This is the beautiful photo of a sunrise by Cindi Colbert that was my inspiration for this ...

Sunday Chat from From My Carolina Home

Mornings have been delightfully cool, with temperatures in the low 60s F and even the high 50s yesterday (high teens C). Waking early, there are clear skies most days, but sometimes the humidity will cause fog in the valleys between the ridges of trees. Although the sky is light, the sun has not come over the mountains to the east yet.

It’s a good time to take a photo of the latest dahlia bloom, bright red with intense yellow stamens.

The begonias continue to bloom prolifically as well, masses of white flowers that the bees are loving.

It is ...

The Sound of Silence from Podunk Pretties

Spring is in the air here in Podunk.  And what better way to start the day than with a hot cup of decaf on the back porch.  Me and Khaleesi like to watch the sunrise out here, weather permitting.  On the really cold days I watch from inside.

Watching the sunrise is therapeutic. Letting the sun into your eyes helps to set our circadian rhythm.  I could go into a deep dive talk about sunlight and blue light but we'll just keep things light today.

This is how I was awakened yesterday.  I like to sleep with the window ...

Courtrepointe Quebec Best in Show from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

For a minute, I thought I might not have internet. But refreshed the page, and here I am!

So the show's first day is over, and it was a lot of fun. I managed to chat with the customers in French, and I'm getting decent at it! We were out last night and told the fabric cutter (wait for that story) that we were from Ontario, and she told me my French was excellent!

I went for a walk in the morning along the river and snapped a couple of pictures. But first, it's bizarre to walk ...

An EPIC adventure from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I was checking out some adventure quotes last night and came across these two, which I think are great ones, to sum up, my philosophy about life.

Both spoke to me as I searched the internet while watering my trees in the front yard.

I've not traveled a lot in my life, but I've traveled across Canada several times in several different modes of transport - train, plane, car, and from coast to coast by bicycle.

Years ago, I practically begged the organizers of Katimavik to accept me into the program's first year. Something I would not have ...

late out of the gate . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

So.  Obviously my resolution for 2021 wasn't to spend more time on the blog.  Ha!

In fact, I didn't make resolutions (I haven't done that for the past several years, actually).  I took stock of 2020 (for what it's worth, am I right?), and instead made a couple of goals. Really, I just made a goal.  I finished my complete read of the Bible on December 24, but decided it was a lot of reading (the Bible in a year) without a lot of study.  So this year I decided to start over again, read just ...
