We made a quick trip to the campground where our son and his family were staying this week for dinner out on Saturday evening; we wanted to help celebrate our favorite daughter-in-law's birthday (albeit a few days late). They're loving their new camper trailer and finding every excuse that they can to hit the road and explore the sights that our state (and those close by) have to offer. Gregory

It's not that I haven't been doing anything, that would be the simplest explanation; actually, the exact opposite is the case. I'm going to bring the blog up to date, but it will take several posts to accomplish that. At last post, I was pulling blocks-of-the-month out

When I get on a roll it's really not that hard, I just need to keep focused and on track. This is "Fun~fetti" after trimming up. It's one from a couple of years ago where I tried my hand at the split-nine patch using low volume fabrics. I felt it was really much too blah, so

On Saturday I went down the road with a friend for another Chrismon class, this one was a 3D cross with pearls. It was fun! The cross framework was constructed first with the oblong gold beads; the pearls are popped in at the end, they're free floating inside. Isn't it pretty? Of course, I

read moreThe Doan family loves getting together and throwing a party! Especially in the summertime, we gather at one of our houses to be together outside and eat good food.
Sometimes we swim, sometimes we camp, sometimes we bring out the dirt bikes and ride around playing dirt bike soccer, but no matter what we do, we always have good food and good company!
Accompanying our hamburgers and hotdogs and varieties of chips, here are a few of our favorite family ...
read moreWe can’t believe that the school year is almost over. On one hand we weren’t sure how school was going to look and now we are almost ready to close the books for this school year.
To that end, we have been on the busier side of getting t-shirt quilts completed in time for graduations as well as handling end of the school year things. So to say our schedules are a little convoluted right now would be an understatement! Thankfully there are just a few days left and we can settle into the normal summer schedule.
Finally ...

This collection includes instructions for a throw size quilt, and a beach towel which turns into a tote. The handles make it easy to carry back and forth to the beach or pool, and there’s a large outside pocket for a book, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. The towel tote also has a pillow pocket at the top- You can stuff it with a second towel ...

read moreIt is the beginning of a holiday weekend, but it just doesn’t seem like a festive time with so many events canceled. This weekend should be a riot of gardening in our downtown area with Garden Jubilee on Saturday and Sunday, but that is now moved to the individual garden centers. This just isn’t the same as a festival. It is hard to be excited when this weekend will be spent just like most every other day for the past two months. While I am not in a mood for patriotic festivities, I do think changing the table ...
