What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

We made a quick trip to the campground where our son and his family were staying this week for dinner out on Saturday evening; we wanted to help celebrate our favorite daughter-in-law's birthday (albeit a few days late). I had a friend ask me the other day of I was ever going to post again; that's how long it's been since I've updated here! Sheesh. It's not that I haven't been doing anything, that would be the simplest explanation; actually, the exact opposite is the case. I'm going to bring the blog up to date, but it will take several posts to accomplish that. At last post, I was pulling blocks-of-the-month out

I've been trying to wrap up some lingering projects-partially-done by getting them quilted, bound and ready for finishing. When I get on a roll it's really not that hard, I just need to keep focused and on track. This is "Fun~fetti" after trimming up. It's one from a couple of years ago where I tried my hand at the split-nine patch using low volume fabrics. I felt it was really much too blah, so

The Doan family loves getting together and throwing a party! Especially in the summertime, we gather at one of our houses to be together outside and eat good food. 

Sometimes we swim, sometimes we camp, sometimes we bring out the dirt bikes and ride around playing dirt bike soccer, but no matter what we do, we always have good food and good company!

We can’t believe that the school year is almost over. On one hand we weren’t sure how school was going to look and now we are almost ready to close the books for this school year.

To that end, we have been on the busier side of getting t-shirt quilts completed in time for graduations as well as handling end of the school year things. So to say our schedules are a little convoluted right now would be an understatement! Thankfully there are just a few days left and we can settle into the normal summer schedule.

We’ve just released Collection #52, Hello, Summer!, for The Art of Home Club!! I just love these “juicy” colors and fabrics in this summer towel tote and quilt, they just say Summer to me!

I've finished the quilting on this little one, "Sister Bear"; I have the binding all ready to apply, and wouldn't you know it, it's a batik and there's enough left over to make more masks! Yay! This is the batch from last week, thirteen adult sized and one child's mask; they've already been distributed to their new families and I have nine all ready to go this week! I thought that my batiks were

It is the beginning of a holiday weekend, but it just doesn’t seem like a festive time with so many events canceled.  This weekend should be a riot of gardening in our downtown area with Garden Jubilee on Saturday and Sunday, but that is now moved to the individual garden centers.  This just isn’t the same as a festival.  It is hard to be excited when this weekend will be spent just like most every other day for the past two months. Too busy to sew, too busy to write.  I have had a wild several months, but have finally returned to my needle and threads.  It has been strange not to sew, but I have not been idle.

Our summer panned out as follows:
10 days in June traveling to and from Southern CA for the wedding of our granddaughter.
