Finished Up The Japanese Dolls Quilt Top from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and ready to get going. I cooked the cinnamon rolls. Then I headed downstairs.

I decided to get moving on finishing up this quilt top. First thing I had to do was get the batting cut for the QOV quilt that I'm taking to the church to do.

Then I needed to get moving on my quilt top.

I added the borders. I wanted to make it wider, because it was really long. So, I added the black on the sides. I decided not to add a 2" border on the bottom of the ...

Wednesday - A Day With Mom And Quilting from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and working downstairs to get a few things put away before mom arrived. Didn't help much or wasn't good enough.

Mom arrived after Patrick took off to go golfing. We worked downstairs to work on my quilt top. Funny thing was, she wanted me to clean my counter before we got started. I through stuff away and I bagged some scraps for Nona.

My big pile disappeared. I have a small pile now and will figure out what I've got over there and put them away or get rid of them. The ...

Quilting And Date Night from Quilting My Way

This morning I got a few things together to go to moms. I dropped off fabric and tomatoes for Georgie. I actually called her but she was already gone for the day. Told her to go to moms for the fabric and tomatoes.

As I was leaving the house, I saw the flowers looking awesome!

I love the color! This plant is really growing. Patrick is doing an awesome job on the yard!

Arrived before everyone else. I put my stuff done in the chair where dad used to sit. Then Ann showed up and I was scooted out of ...

Bread Baking Day...Yum! from Quilting My Way

This morning mom arrived at 9 am. We had breakfast together and then headed down to Longview/Kelso for moms appointment. We were about 20 minutes early.

She was recorded regarding her refund that took a good 9 months to get last year. It's a radio ad for Jamie Herrara Butler, our Representative. Mom did pretty good. He didn't have to ask her too much. Mom chatted. She had to change for "she" or "Rebecca." Rebecca helped her and was the one that kept in contact. Jamie called her when they finally had the refund check in Jan ...

Not Quite Done from Quilting My Way

This morning I really don't know what I was doing. All I do remember is going downstairs around 11 am to work on my Hawaiian quilt.

I decided it would be a lot easier if I used the table downstairs to do the basting.

While I was basting the quilt, we received notice that the bowling alley in Centralia is closing for good. We need to let them know when we will go pick up our stuff out of the lockers. It sucks, but now we will figure out what we are going to do from now on. Got ...

Back To Working On My Hawaiian Quilt from Quilting My Way

This morning I went to moms while Patrick went golfing.

When I arrived mom wanted to know what I wanted to work on. I told it I didn't really care. She told me she pulled out the Hawaiian quilt that we started when dad was in the hospital before he passed. The fabric was fabric that cost over $100 and he bought it for me. We had it already cut out, just not on the backing.

So we went to the Gathering Place. We put 3 table together so we could lay out the quilt and start pinning it ...

Back To Working On QOV Quilt Tops from Quilting My Way

This morning I decided I needed to go downstairs and work on some QOV stuff. I had to iron the background fabric to get ready to take to Faye. Debbie needed to stop by and pick up some batting and backing as well.

First I wanted to change my blog theme. So, I worked on it for awhile. Not crazy about it, so I'm going to change it again. We'll see which one I stay with.

So, first things first. Got the batting and backing cut for Debbie and texted her it was ready. I also needed to ...

Went To The Grange from Quilting My Way

It's been a long time since I've been to the Grange. I needed to go to Oakview Grange in Centralia for our Brazilian embroidery group. They were having a garage sale and I picked up suite case that she opened up. It's on rollers and fits in the upper compartment. I really liked it. It wasn't the color that I would have liked but for a brand new case at $5, it was worth it.

I had to stop at moms before going to the Grange. Then on the way back, I had to stop at ...

Best Laid Plans....You Know ME from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up with the sun. I decided to get up and get moving.

I was able to get the laundry going again. It's really a big pile. Just haven't been able to work on it much.

Patrick wanted to go to Home Depot to see about getting a table and chairs to put on our deck - our Christmas gift. We looked but the round ones are really big for our deck. I like the round ones but they are just a little too big. We couldn't find a square one. It was interesting there ...

A Good Day...I Actually Worked On A Quilt Top! from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up really early - woken by the phone. No worries because the sun wakes me up as well. I need to get some more eye covers.

We went over to moms and power washed her deck. Patrick got the rest of the area done. I did the power washing. We took the plants over to her as well. Then Patrick took some of the dead pots and put them in the back of the truck. He's been doing all her planting and getting her deck to look nice. He got the water drips working for her ...

Another Day That Changed As I Got Started from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and enjoying my games. Then I decided to get going with my beading.

I was able to get 3 rows in.....

I figured I could get a good 10 to 15 rows in.....then the phone rang. You know those phone calls that you shouldn't answer but do.

My daughter in law's father called asking me if I could make some face masks for his work. I told him I would be happy to. I really am happy to do that for them.

So, downstairs I went. I figured it wouldn't take ...

A Completely Unexpected Day! from Quilting My Way

This morning I really couldn't sleep very well. I finally got up and then was able to play games, but really didn't get a chance to.

Mom called and we chatted. I went downstairs to get a few fabrics together for my niece to work on the eagle quilts. I texted and told her to let me know when she's coming back up. Then Rita at the shop called to tell me mom's fabric was in. Mom called and said she got the message and was headed there, after she just got back from the bank ...

Raw Emotions At Times...I've Got This! from Quilting My Way

This morning I heated up the downstairs to try and get a few things done. Patrick got going with cleaning the glass in the dinning room cabinets. While he was doing that, I cleaned up the spoons that are part of the collection mom had while we were growing up.

I went downstairs and ironed the backing for the quilt I have down there ready to go to Bill. Bill has pneumonia right now, so it's not looking really good for him. I told everyone that we weren't to take any quilts to him when the Virus started ...

It's Getting Interesting With Having To Stay Home from Quilting My Way

Today started out with me wondering what I would do.

So, I decided I would go downstairs and cut some fabric for another QOV quilt.

I was able to get more blues and reds cut. I also got strips for the half square triangles ready to sew. I wasn't in the mood to sew, but I was in the mood to cut the fabric. I have more to cut, but I'll do that later. I did get a lot done.

I finally got to the point of wanting to quit. So, I came upstairs to work on my ...

Cancelled Quilting Tomorrow from Quilting My Way

This morning started out pretty good. Mom called around 10 am to let me know she was cancelling quilting tomorrow.

So, I went downstairs and thought I would work on some QOV stuff. I needed to clean up, but I wanted to check out what I had. Before I knew it, I was working on the variation 9 patch. I realized they are all 3" finished squares. I was able to make a few blocks with the fabric I already had cut. Next time I'll cut the fabrics I have in "pieces" and get them ready to add to ...

Two Days Of Sewing - WoW! from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and downstairs to get an early morning start on the quilt top for Mike McCoy. I wanted to get it done today.

I had it all done in a good amount of time. I didn't have the blue that is in the border though. I had to go to Sister's in Chehalis to see if they had the blue that would go with this. Patrick and I looked around and finally found a pretty blue that went with it. Patrick was a sweetheart and paid for it for me. He's really been ...

A Day Of Stitching - Sewing from Quilting My Way

Yep, that's what I said, "A Day Of Sewing." All because I needed to get a couple tops done for QOV.

After getting moving this morning, Patrick was a sweetheart and went to get the fireplace going. I had to do a few things and took my time getting downstairs. I called and talked to Sharon and Bill first. It was a long chat because Sharon likes to chat. We talked about the beading. She's on row 69 of the covered bridge one.

Downstairs I went. Then I got to work on the quilt top. I had about ...

A Day To Work On Bindings from Quilting My Way

This morning I worked on getting the fireplace going before I headed downstairs.

Once I did get downstairs, I worked on getting binding for 3 quilts. I was thrilled to see I had some bindings that would work for all three of them. That made me happy that I didn't have to cut the bindings and get them ready for the quilts.

I got started cutting the edge of all the quilts first. Sophie came down to help me out. I had to get her off the cutting board because her tail kept getting in the way. Think she ...

Spending Time With Mom and Bowling from Quilting My Way

This morning I headed over to moms. We didn't do much, she wasn't in the mood to do the top and I really wasn't either. I should have taken my cross stitching. We ended up doing some computer stuff. I tried to get her FB page open and it wanted to be "secure." When I went through the secure part, it wanted her to contact 3 of 6 people and have them give her a code to get into her account. If we didn't do that (we didn't) then they wanted a drivers license, passport ...
