Time For Brazilian Emboridery from Quilting My Way

It was an interesting morning. I was all ready to go to our meeting......but NO, I wasn't!

I headed out right a 10 am. Had to deposit some money, then go to the Library to drop off the CD audio, with a stop at McD's for ice tea. Once all that was done, I was on to our meeting.

I seem to find other things to do at the shop instead of working on my projects. I did get some work done, but at the same time I found some fabric for my friends Birthday. I think ...

Finished The Top from Quilting My Way

This morning I actually slept in. Partly because I couldn't sleep last night. Even when I tried to go to sleep at midnight. UGH

I went walking with Cherry after getting up. I also got coffee going for Dan. Before I left, I gave him the coffee and then when I got back gave him the left over pizza.

Then I headed downstairs to get to work on my quilt top. I HATE having to cut the boarders in half. I ended up having to do that on both boarders. I wish people who make patterns would be so ...

Almost Done With Mystery Quilt from Quilting My Way

Today I was up and walking with Cherry. I needed to get some walking in.

I'm still helping Dan out, and the good news is that he wants to wait another day before going home. I told him he has no limit to being here and if we needed to pick up stuff for him we would. I kept going down and putting the ice pack on his leg.

I then went downstairs, and got back to working on the quilt. I did have a few calls in-between but I was able to get a lot done.

I worked ...

Catching Up Part 3 from Quilting My Way

Okay, the good news is that today I'm finally caught up with my blogging. I need to be paying more attention to getting my blogging done. lol

It was one busy day. I was up, making breakfast for Dan and I. Then cleaning up the mess, unloading the dishwasher.

I played a few games, but every 20 to 30 mins I was going down and putting or taking off his ice pack. He's leg is looking really good.

I did get a chance to go and work on the quilt for QOV. I didn't get a lot ...

Another Day Of Stitching from Quilting My Way

Today I started out with getting up and then going back to sleep on the couch.

Once I finally got up - I went downstairs in hope of getting the top done.....yeah right. Yesterday was the day when everything went perfectly.....today....not so much!

As I was getting started, Sophie decided she wanted to check everything out.

I got started, and I felt good about sewing.....then I measured the blocks I finished, it didn't come out right, I was on the short side. Not enough to redo it all, but that ticked me off. Then I got ...

A Day Of Stitching And Quilting! from Quilting My Way

This morning started out pretty good. Once I got going, I went downstairs.

I kept thinking of the Mystery Quilt for QOV. There was a message in my email, saying that there would be a contest. It's a voting contest on the Mystery Quilt. So, I decided, "Oh, heck, that would be fun." Not like me, but I thought I would try. I have till the 15th to get the photo sent to them. So.....I went downstairs, picked out the colors, and got started.

This is the pattern, and I'm looking forward to working on this. I ...

Quilting With Mom Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was able to sleep in - but didn't. I was up and getting laundry done. I knew mom would be here after her appointment. So, I went downstairs and clean up a little.

I laid out the blocks that Georgie game me a while back. This is what I decided on.

Had them all laid out and then Sophie came to mess up the one in the right top corner. She was going under it.

Then I turned around and found this!! She threw the blocks all over the place! Under my sewing table, even.

While I ...

One Heck Of A Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was getting back on the computer because I messed up on one of the certificates. Once I got that and the photos from last time on my thumb drive, I was almost ready. Then Cherry called and we went walking.

Got back home and had to move to get out the door. I had to go to Walmart to get the photos, then head over to the museum to get ready for presentation. I ended up being there at noon and I really wanted to be there around 11:30.  We waited till 1 pm because we ...

Off To Olympia And Back from Quilting My Way

This morning I was able to get some laundry started before heading up to Olympia. I had 2 appointments and needed to be prepared. So, instead of taking the quilt I'm binding, I took my embroidery.

I was up and out the door by 9 am. Then I was about 15 mins early for my ultra sound. That was okay, because I played a couple games and tried to do embroidery but it was too crowded to enjoy that. So, I played. After the ultra sound I had an hour wait. So, I went to the waiting room and ...

Labor Day from Quilting My Way

Yesterday was a busy day......like I said it would be. Today won't be any better, I don't think.

It started out like any other day. Then Patrick and I got on a cleaning "fit." He worked on the bathrooms (love him for that), and I worked on the kitchen, and dinning room. Then we did the dusting around the house, which was something else! One big mess! We got that looking good, changed all the decor around the house, and the vacuumed. 3 bags later, we had everything looking good! And I'm going to plan to ...

My Week Is Starting...... from Quilting My Way

Today we were up and out the door for grocery shopping. We really did need to get some stuff for the month. We also picked up some goodies for tomorrow when our friends come over. And of course, even though it was morning, it was busy in the store. We did get out of there before the mad rush though - at least I want to believe that.

When we brought the groceries home, I cleaned out the refrigerator and the freezer. Then we loaded everything back in both. It looks 100% better.

The afternoon was finishing the labels on the ...

Starting A Busy Week Early...... from Quilting My Way

This morning I enjoyed a few games. Then it was time to go pick mom up for the movies.

We picked up mom and took her to the movie "Lion King." We all really enjoyed that movie. It was interesting to see how the animals could talk. I would love to know how they did such a good job on getting so real.

After the movies, we went to Arby's to eat. We all had a good time. Mom was thrilled to get out again. We hadn't done much with mom lately and I think we will pick ...

These Churndash blocks are one of my latest projects that I have started. I love this traditional pattern and it has been on my to do list for a long time!

My original plan was to make all the blocks the same, that seemed a little boring so I decided to do a reverse block and still ...

Merry Christmas everyone!

Here is a Christmas project I have been working on…. sort of last minute and will be finished for next Christmas!

I just fell in love with these Christmas light bulbs!

The pattern is by Burlap and Blossom Patterns. She specializes in pieced patterns… no paper piecing!!!

She has lots of cute Christmas blocks!!!

I used my trimmings to make these Sawtooth Stars. I will make those the center.

Then I will add a border… maybe Christmas trees or candy canes…. and then have a large border of these cute Christmas lights. I am sort ...

by Peta Peace

We all know we have at least 10 layer cakes piled up waiting for some inspiration….

pattern: “Origami Squares”

I just loved this pattern because it only required one layer cake.

Now… I made this layer cake myself because I wanted these specific colors.

I’m dying to try it again!

I used an all over stipple pattern for quilting and a zig zag ...
