Monday Muse from Humble Quilts


Here are 2 "sardines" I picked up in Portugal. You saw a lot of this pattern on towels, fabric and tchotch's  but these were a bit different. Made from linen and in a small boutique store that offered classes. When we stopped in people were painting tiles! These were heavy like a well made pin cushion and I loved how they were decorated. 

Speaking of sardines.....


There are entire stores dedicated to sardines!


The dates for fun, not the date they were canned! lol 


We did bring some home and generally I'm not a sardine girl.

Fun on a Friday from Humble Quilts

Hello and happy Friday!
Monday we will be putting together the center of our Summit Stitches and I'll show the antique and let you decide if, and how you want to border it.



When I saw this amazing tilework in Portugal it reminded me of the "unknown" critter in my toile!

All of the following we saw at Monastery of Sao Vicente de Foro- Here is a virtual visit (very nicely done) HERE
I don't think we ever determined what it was- a mythical creature, I guess.

Portugal from Humble Quilts


Historic Portuguese fabric now residing in my sewing room!

And a few more lovely historic fabrics made in Portugal!

Just heading to the quilt shop on an old cobblestone road.

The woman working was very sweet!
 Get more info HERE They have been producing these historic fabrics and linens in Portugal since 1905!


Fabrica actually means factory, but I couldn't help thinking I hit the fabrica jackpot!



This was a different shop we walked by. The dress in the center really caught my eye!

Just Call Me "Grace" from Appalachian Quilts

Today's pics aren't my best work - I'll just start off with that disclaimer.  Earlier this week I was on a Zoom call and saw our rural mail lady try to turn around in the neighbor's driveway.  She got stuck.  Totally distracted from my call, I watched as she kept revving the engine in her little jeep and burning the rubber off her tires trying to get out.  My call ended and I threw on a coat and boots.  In an effort to get there quicker, I started out across the yard rather than using the driveway ...
