Lady Bug Quilt Block from Expect Moore

I’m so excited to share this Lady Bug Quilt Block with you! It is a simple pattern – great for a confident beginner – and who doesn’t love ladybugs? When I started thinking up ideas for this month’s “bug” theme, I just knew I wanted the ladybug! If you scroll down you’ll find links to […]

What Makes Prom from Becca's Crazy Projects

I had to break out another sewing machine to make the button holes. If you can, go for the machine that does a one-step buttonhole (my Pfaff makes a nice one). It is so much easier to do than a four-step.
I ordered some organza butterflies from Amazon to add to the butterfly tulle.
I added them to the bottom third of the tulle fabric. I like the added density. I don't think one can have too many butterflies. I'm not adding them, either.

What Makes Prom from Becca's Crazy Projects

Part Two

I always forget how much there is to garment sewing. The interfacing.
The darts.
The top-stitching.
The pockets (these aren't real pockets). I love this fabric. It is subtle and amazing at the same time.
The standing back and admiring an almost finished vest. At this point it still needs button holes, buttons, some lining finishing stitches. You know, little details.

What Makes Prom from Becca's Crazy Projects

What does one do when asked to help out with the prom project? One goes with it. I grabbed some fabrics from my collection and a pattern and got busy with a simple wearable muslin. This is the only simple part of this project.
Embroider some butterflies on organza (which I had in a box for some reason). This design is Whimsical Butterfly from Urban Threads
And do some shopping for suitable fabrics. This wonderful rose embossed fabric for the vest.
Add some chiffon and butterflies on fine tulle and I was ready to go. Bringing a fashion vision to ...

100 Blocks 100 Days Finish from Becca's Crazy Projects

I grabbed my scrappy binding and got stitching.
I love all the little details in this quilt. Look at that little skeleton!
I used almost 30 feet of binding and I didn't even make a dent in that bin of leftover binding.
This was my all-time favorite sampler quilt. Just a great project.

Check out the great images folks are sharing on Instagram under #100days100blocks2021. Newly finished quilts are showing up so you can see how people are putting these blocks together.

Crazy Week from Becca's Crazy Projects

This week has been a little crazy. Not bad. Just not as productive as I wanted it to be.

As a demonstration, here is what my cutting table looked like at bedtime on Tuesday. Hopefully I will have something more substantial to share on Friday. Enjoy the rest of your week!

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I finished my blocks in October 2021
I managed to get the blocks arranged and sewn up in March 2022. These things don't happen quickly. I added a 3" border to frame those 100 blocks.
I even pieced the backing, because that's how scrappy quilts can be.
For binding, I dug into my bin of leftover binding. Yes, this is a thing some quilters have. Mine never gets enough love. There are so many leftover pieces. I need to come up with another good scrappy idea to use some more of it up.
I spend a bunch of ...

Twelve Days of Christmas from Heart Desire Creations

Brrr and Good Morning from chilly North Carolina! The poor sea of daffodils are all weeping from this cold! Of course, for me, this means a day of sewing!

Two years ago I cam across a Twelve Days of Christmas ornament series made from felt. It was love at first site! Uncharacteristically, I ordered the full set of patterns (from Larissa Holland, mmmCrafts). At first the pattern set seemed pricey, but oh the detail, exquisite design and excellent instructions made it so worth it. I even ordered the set of felt to make them with. I printed the patterns out ...

Ragged Sunflower- Larger Than Life — Paper piecing, quilt or wall hanging pattern from Wisonsin Quilting

I posted this pattern several years ago. It’s time to bring it back to the forefront. Below you will see my original text saying “You Don’t Know What You’ve Got Till It’s Gone.” Now it is so true in our current worldview. A sunflower that’s “larger than life….” Make this pattern and contemplate. Sunflower $8 pattern (suggested size is 32″ 42″ with modifications for 40″ x 40″ but it also prints in such a way that you can scale it to any size on your printer.) It looks complex, but is just a ...

Generations - Clara from easypatchwork

Hi there and thanks for joining us today. I would like to present the newest figure in the Generations Paper Dolls series featuring 6" x 12" historical foundation paper pieced figures spanning centuries of inspirational female heritage.

Clara is the newest figure in our series. She is one of my favorite figures with her wrapped and belted shawl. Her delicate hands are folded in front waiting as if she is reflecting on life and its tiny little challenges. She wears a full sized bonnet. This figure resemebles a 18th century figure, don't you agree?

Includes Two Versions of FPP ...

More Masks from Becca's Crazy Projects

It seems the masks we've been wearing for almost a year are starting to show their age. I wanted some novelty prints so I convinced my husband to take me to the big-box fabric store to pick up some licensed prints. Maybe no one needs a mask with Pokémon or Avengers but I wanted some. I also pulled that cut cat print out of my collection.
These are going to be so much fun!
As usual, I have cut out way to many of these. Oh, well, they are still good to share with friends.

If you want to ...
