I had the great pleasure earlier this year to work on a set of custom designs for A.A. These two patterns were developed from photos I took at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI and local parade photos and from armed services publications on uniforms. Get into your stash and make some stacks of light, medium and darker grays, 3 flesh tones, some whites, dark and bright reds and green for the background. Most of the squares are just 2-1/2″ squares with scattered paper piecing. You’ll be piecing columns as shown at right above.
