Teacups Embroidered Block from From My Carolina Home

This month’s block for the Teacups quilt along is an embroidered block.  The quilt along is a mixed techniques one, so I am throwing in some handwork.  This was mainly due to the complexity of the design I wanted for the sugar and creamer, more delicate and intricate.  If you haven’t joined us for this quilt along, it isn’t too late to start, just click on Teacups Quilt Along for all the posts with the block downloads, book reference or instructions.  The other blocks so far are paper pieced, regular pieced, and applique featuring mostly teacups, with ...

Celebrate National Embroidery Month with Our Newest Designers! from Marcus Fabrics

February is National Embroidery Month!  And it just happens that the newest additions to our design family are both embroidery experts!  We asked them to share a few of their favorite tips for creating beautiful hand embroidered projects.

Cindy Staub of Quilt Doodle Designs debuted with Marcus last month with her SNOWMEN SNOW GLOBE BOM program, using her pre-printed panel and coordinating PRIMO PLAID FLANNELS: New Blues. We love Cindy’s mix of blue flannel stars surrounding the “snowfriends” globe, which she cut from the panel.  On the panel you’ll find other fun design elements suitable for smaller projects ...

Redwork Christmas from From My Carolina Home

Getting back to my redwork project today, as it was put to the side for the entire month of October.  I think I have enough time left to finish it for this year.  When I last wrote about it, I had stopped here with the bottom section done, and the Santa started.

Redwork Christmas at From My Carolina Home

Stitching on the weekend while watching the football games, I made progress last Sunday.  The markings are getting lighter and more difficult to see for some reason.  Hard to say why as I have just let this sit in the basket next to my chair for a month ...

Hello Friends, it’s good to be back to re-connect!  Summer is over for us.  Miss Baby started school this week.  I have to say it took me a bit to get used to the quietness during the day while she is at school.

It’s time for me to share with you the fourth of the six mother-daughter (adult/child) collaborative ornament project, released to highlight Aurifil’s Aurikids iniatiative — an effort ...

Have you seen the Aurikid SPOOL-EN-DIDS thread box? from IVORY SPRING

Good morning, Friends!  I have shared with you last year that Miss Baby was selected by Aurifil to be one of their first batch of Aurkids in an initiative to pass down the love of needle and thread to the next and upcoming generation.  Have you see Miss Baby’s Spool-en-dids collection?  This is a collection of 6-ply cotton embroidery floss (Aurifloss) produced by Aurifil.  If you have liked Aurifil’s signature 50wt threads, you WILL love these floss for your handwork.  You know the part of very little  lint on any of their sewing threads?  Same is true with ...

Hello Friends, I hope you have been well.  This is a quick post, but I want you to know that my Thread Journey quilt IS juried into the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival!

Crazy Quilt Journals And Greeting Cards from Kitty and Me Designs

I've been thinking for  quite awhile now, about opening a Cafe Press Shop and using some of my crazy quilt pieces on greeting cards and journals.

It's taken me all day to just to figure out the site and how to list products.  Not nearly as easy as Etsy and Ebay but I finally figured it out!  I still have some work to do but I have a good start now!

I started with some of my Christmas projects thinking that someone might want to have some unique Christmas Cards!  I'm going to order some for myself ...
