Another Day Behind - But It Was Fun! from Quilting My Way

Yesterday I spent the morning at moms with the quilters. Then I came home and waited for Debbie to arrive and take me to the Tree Lighting display in Centralia. We were working it for our QOV group.

From 4 pm to 9:30 pm we worked collecting money from the cars going through. It was fun. I'm the one on the left, Connie was behind me, Alli and Nancy on the right. We had a blast!

Debbie and I didn't get home till about 10 pm.

I woke this morning to a cold!! Patrick shared his cold ...

A Rainy, Quiet Saturday from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up before Patrick. Lately I'm the one that sleeps in longer than the other. We have a deal, last one out of bed makes it! lol I made it all week and was glad he was finally able to make it. lol

We talked about repotting the plants I got from Hildi. The decision was that after I go on my walk, we would repot the plants. I walked with Ron and then made lunch. I wanted a grill cheese sandwich. It didn't start raining till after I got in the house.

Then it ...

Along The Way... from From the Strawberry Patch...

I've learned a LOT along the way while the wrist is healing. Time doesn't slow down, or stop, when one's casted. Nope, it's business as usual. Augie turned eleven months old on Wednesday! He's my best snuggle buddy and resting companion when I need that. I can tell when I've done enough for the day and it's time to lay low. Fine motor skills are slowly returning and strengthening, (I can pinch

Redwork Stitching, Marking Pencils,Gardening, Movies from Canadian Needle Nana

I shared a photo of the vines that grew so well in winter inside the house a while back. Here they are still alive and well outside all summer. I had put a few seeds in soil just to see what would happen knowing that, while I had no success growing pumpkins, I loved the leaves and these, whatever they are, look so pretty. A very tiny critter also loves them as there are little nibbles taken in some of  them.

And the Marigolds are the ones I grew from seeds planted in my garage green house in May. I ...

New Socks for Winter from Romany Quilting

This pair took a while to finish, as all my knitting does, but here they are at last, in time for winter.  I knit my socks on two needles and have finally finished stitching the side seams up.  I laid the socks on the floor to take a picture, and Gemma thought they were put there for her to inspect and give the seal of approval.

These thick triple knit socks were knitted using 8ply white hand spun wool, a birthday gift last year from my friend Merilyn, together with left over 4ply burgundy Zauberball  sock yarn.  This is my ...

Enjoying The Afternoon! from Quilting My Way

This morning I slept in. Felt good too! Then after Patrick was done in the bathroom, I took my shower and got my exercises in. Then Patrick went outside and I went to my massage therapy.

I feel so much better! She worked on my neck because I asked. She worked on my back really well. I'm doing better with my hip and back. Between her and Bob, I have been feeling a lot better.

Then went to the post office, Safeway and the bank. I had to pick a few things up at Safeway. I got some stuff ...

Enjoying My Day! from Quilting My Way

Patrick was golfing and I was enjoying the day to myself. First things first. I had to get laundry going and I needed to vacuum as it was driving me crazy.

I got on Netflix and watched 2 shows! I started with Wedding Date and loved that. Patrick arrived half way through it. Then I put another one on, Love Inn ..... can't remember the other part. It was good and even Patrick enjoyed it.

While all that was going on, I was stitching!

I worked mostly on the white area. Then I went to the left and worked on ...

A Day Of Quilting And Cross Stitching from Quilting My Way

Today I was up after Patrick. Guess I was snoring last night. lol Worked on my exercises and then played a few games.

Then I decided to head downstairs and try to get another top done. I started out with cutting the fabrics for the strips. Then went to work on getting this done.

I guess I got too excited about getting this far! Then I looked at the photo and said, "Oh, Sh*t!" I sent the photo to Debbie and she asked what the "oops" was for. Told her to look right. Then got a laughing face on ...

Out and About, Donations and a Movie from Romany Quilting

We have been out and about lately.  First we took a trip down to Kapiti to drop of a bag of donations for Foster Hope Charity.  Included in this donation were two draw string bags for the kids pencils or treasures, and two little girls aprons.

Bags and aprons

And quilts, winter is coming after all, and there is sure to be a need for these.  First were two toddlers quilts made from small printed panels – these were finished last year but I wasn't quite ready to part with them, just in case there was a need close to ...

Let Half The Day Go By from Quilting My Way

I shocked myself by sleeping till 11 am. I let the morning disappear on me! I was surprised I could sleep that long. I haven't done that since I was a teenager. lol

I wanted to get my bread in before we left today. So, I heated the oven and got moving with baking.

We took off and went to the movie. We saw the last of the Guardians of the Galaxy. It was really, really good. I enjoyed that. A couple times when they were moving - I started to move as well! My brain didn't like that ...

Not Doing Much - But Doing Something! from Quilting My Way

Today we were sleeping in. I woke around 3 am and couldn't go back to sleep till 6 am. UGH.

Got up and put the cinnamon rolls in the oven. Then played a few games. I made a cream cheese frosting that turned out really good. Even Patrick liked it and he doesn't care for cream cheese frostings. I thought the cinnamon was too strong. Love making them though.

Then we went to the Mario Movie today. I really enjoyed it. It was fun to see the different games of Mario combined in this movie. Then stopped at ...

Hello Friday from Quilting My Way

This morning we slept in. OR at least tried. The phone rang. I got up and Patrick went back to sleep.

I didn't go to moms for quilting. I just didn't want to be around that many quilters. We decided to go to the movies instead. We left around 11:30 am. Had a few stops to hit. First was the church to collect a quilt. Then off to Rite Aid. Gave Phil a big hug when I swung by his place (not far from Rite Aid). Last stop was the movie theater. We walked around the mall ...

Movie And Puzzle from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up when the sun came up. That seems to be my norm. lol

I got laundry going and played games. Then it was time to go to the movies. We saw "A Man Called Otto." It was so good!! I loved this movie! Tom Hanks is the best. He can play any part and still be good at it. I have missed very few of his movies. I just loved his part.

Came home and I wanted to work on a puzzle. I have been thinking about jigsaw puzzles for a while. I pulled out the ...

Getting Next Big Beaded Project Ready from Quilting My Way

This morning I forgot my exercises - just realized that! lol

I enjoyed staying in my PJ's and didn't shower till about 10:30/11 am. I was playing games. Then Patrick went out to get meters read and I decided to work on my beads. I want to get them ready to start on "Sophie's Fireplace" piece I did myself.

I was able to get this much done before we headed out to the "Puss and Boots" movie. It was cute. In the beginning - not so much. They really didn't do the beginning part right. The ...

MERRY CHRISTMAS! from Quilting My Way

Here is wishing all of my readers a Merry Christmas! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and all your wishes came true.

We watched "A White Christmas" on DVD. Patrick has that video and we watch it each year. Just like Katt's tradition of watching "Santa Claus." Katt picked mom up around noon and brought her back. Then we started watching "A Christmas Carol" with Patrick Stewart. We kept pausing it off and on. Patrick was cooking and we even stopped to eat supper.

When mom came over we opened more gifts. I do love having Katt ...

Class Day & A Movie from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up around 6 am and then decided to go back to sleep. lol

Mom called to say good-bye. She is on her way to Los Vegas with my brother and his wife.

Our virtual class was at 10 am this morning. Turned out pretty good. We worked on the butterfly wings and was caught up on the other things we hadn't cover before.

We found out that we were supposed to put the detached button hole around the stem stitches. I realized I was doing this wrong, so now I'm taking out what I ...

Thursday's Three Free Patterns, Halloween Talk, Sharing Quilt Backs, Special Video from Canadian Needle Nana

Autumn turned this maple tree into quite the marvel.

Now those limbs are bare. And for a short time, we will enjoy our golden leafy carpet under foot on our walks.
Someone asked...yes the Swedish BungyPump Walking poles are fabulous in my opinion. You do get a workout- I can feel my heartrate rise, and I do believe my upper body and arms are getting stronger.  I usually spend 15-20 minutes walking  with them as many days of the week as I can get in. Not affiliated in any way.

Now It's Saturday from Quilting My Way

This morning we were woken by a hawk breaking the window above my bed. Good thing it was a double pane window. Now we are going to have to get the window fixed.

I was enjoying the morning but still tired. I laid down on the couch and fell asleep. When I woke an hour later, I went back to bed. I got up after another hour of sleep. Sat down to watch TV and Patrick said we still had time to go to the movies. So, we headed out.

We watched "Ticket to Paradise" and I loved it! It ...

Getting Ready For Another Class from Quilting My Way

This morning I didn't feel like getting up. I knew I had my class introduction at 10 am and knew I had to get up. So, I got up and headed to my class.

We had 4 of us today. Plus the teacher - Debbie Goff. One of the gals couldn't make it, so Debbie was going to contact her to make sure she gets what she needs to attend. Debbie showed how to work with the wire for the wings. We decided that we would have the wings ready for our second class. We don't start for ...
