On the veranda, the annual battle with the Carolina Wren has begun. He loves to build nests in my plants, which I object to on several fronts. First, I don’t need him defending a nest near the front door. Second, I cannot water the plant with a nest in it, so the plant will die (and this year they were so expensive!).
