Quilting Day - But Didn't Quilt from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and out the door. I had to stop at the church for our quilt. Trouble was I got there before Rita. So, I told them I would come back in the afternoon.

Arrived at moms. First thing she needed was for me to get into her laptop which is an Apple. I ended up calling Justin to see who to get into it. Mom changed the password and apparently she didn't type it right because no matter what I did, I couldn't get in. We chatted for a good half hour working things ...

i need an introduction . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

It's been a year.

Technically, it's not even been a half year, but it still feels like a whole, full, 12-month year, and I'm ready to be through with it!  Is that wrong?

My daddy passed away late in January.
He'd been in hospice care since December of 2021, so it wasn't a complete surprise, but I still wasn't ready for him to be gone.  I'm glad he's no longer suffering.
He was witty and clear-minded right to the very end, making us laugh with his quick sense of humor.  Such a ...

Having Friends Over from Quilting My Way

First thing this morning was cleaning house. We had our bowling partners over today. They brought dessert. We had hamburgers and fruit salad. Really didn't go out of our way to have a lot for supper. I didn't eat any lunch, so I enjoyed my hamburger. We had really good corn on the cob as well.

We played games and I wasn't the lucky one. I did win 3 games with Nick, but that was about it. We played 4 games of SORRY and of course I didn't win that either.

All in all it was ...

From clutter to treasure! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Thanks again for the comments -- I MUST answer them individually! There is NO customer quilt today. By the time I got home, I decided I had some wiggle room in my calendar and could push off one of the quilts on the list. Actually, only TWO more need to be done before I leave on Monday, and I have three days.

I was going to start the quilt in the morning but decided that paperwork was more important. And for some reason, I was digging through the crap on the second desk in my office, and guess what? I found ...

Kept Thinking It Was Saturday from Quilting My Way

Today we were woke up by the phone. Mom called to see if Patrick was golfing and if he was, could I come over. I told her he was not, and I had some laundry to do. I just realized, I started it, but didn't finish it. lol

We sat and just enjoyed each other's company. I played a lot of games. Then we went out to eat. I needed to get the certificates in the mail. We stopped and got some bills at the bank and then dropped off the certificates at the post office. Then we ...

One Non-Stop Tiring Day! from Quilting My Way

This morning started with me heading out the door. I went to the bank and told them how I needed my cash for the bowling alley. Then I had to head to moms. It was a funny visit. I arrived to find her just getting out of bed. While she was getting ready, I fixed her breakfast. Then after we got our tea, we headed into the computer room. I had to show her how to hook up for her telemed visit. Then we worked on her judging papers. After going through a page of writing I pulled the information ...

Enjoying Embroidery Today from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and ready to leave.

Sophie wanted her attention first. She was watching me try and get a photo of her. Just as I clicked she reached for the phone. It was funny. Think she saw herself in the "selfie."

I had 3 stops to make. I dropped off the logos for MailPlus to do a banner for us. I'm excited to see what he comes up with.

My next stop was to Connies. I needed to get her check to her and drop off the last of the batting. That way she has batting ...

Another Tuesday... from Quilting My Way

Today Patrick left early to go golfing. Sophie decided she wanted me to get out of bed because she was meowing till I did! Oh, well. I got laundry going and enjoyed the morning to myself. I was picking up a few things and getting the backing washed for Debbie.

I did do a video on the border. I have one row of the border done and started the second. It took awhile to get this going.

Then I got a text from Debbie to bring the batting and backing so she can get her new machine set up. So ...

Closing the door from Quilting with Kimberly

As of today, we have closed the door to a chapter in our lives and we’re looking forward to the future. Our time in Australia has come to an end, but we’ll look back with love for the kangaroos, fondness for brilliantly-colored sunsets, some challenges, and bittersweet memories mixed in.

Now it’s time to focus on the next chapter.

The home we purchased in Australia was settled and sold today to a wonderful gentleman who has promised he’ll care for the Roos as we did. In fact, just this afternoon he sent us this sweet photo ...

Presidential Highway and Dunedin from Romany Quilting

We went out exploring one afternoon, driving an oval shaped route from Gore and back through the countryside, a road we hadn’t previously traveled on.  And goodness me, on reaching Clinton we discovered this sign, we had just driven along the Presidential Highway!

P1020069

This stretch of highway between Clinton and Gore acquired unexpected fame in the 1990s when Bill Clinton and Al Gore were respectively president and vice-president of the United States. When President Clinton visited New Zealand in 1999, a photograph of the road sign was presented to him by the United States ambassador, Josiah Beeman.

A rare and exciting opportunity! from Quilting with Kimberly

Hello, friends!

You may have already read or heard about the tour group I’ll be leading to Japan with Opulent Quilt Journeys this coming May. Happy 2023! from A Prim and (not so) Proper Quilter

A new year, and new possibilities.

The Hubs and I were busy from Thanksgiving through this week making decisions and purchases for the new house, and there are more of those coming up.  Things have been moving at what seems to be light speed on the inside of the house.  Three weeks ago (I think) the drywall went up.  The brick was delivered two weeks ago; cabinets and trim were installed last week; and paint starts this week.  This morning we selected indoor lighting and purchased our gas fireplace logs.  Photos are up on the house page.  It's been ...

Looking back, looking forward from Quilting with Kimberly

The waning hours of 2022 are upon us. Less than 24 hours to go until a new year will be ushered in to greet us all.

Sweet Fuzzy Wuzzy, napping on the cool patio during very warm days.

Roo food, apples, and water were always on hand at Chez Einmo.

This year, perhaps more than most, I’m glad to see the end of 2022 and I’m looking forward with great expectation to everything 2023 will bring. Don’t misunderstand; there were some exciting things which happened in 2022. I think of friends we met along the way, the ...

Day 18/9 - Back Home - At 2 AM Today from Quilting My Way

Yesterday was a day of travel. What is there to say about that. We were off the ship by 9 am. They had it so well done, that it was easy to leave. We got on the bus to Houston Airport. That driver was spooky!! He was tailgating as well as passing everyone! I believe he was speeding a good 10 miles over. We did get to the airport at a good time. But we couldn't change our flight to an earlier one. So, we had to WAIT 3 hours before we could drop off our luggage. Patrick found ...

Meeting New Friends from From the Strawberry Patch...

As you know from the last post, we have a new family member, Augie. Nothing else has quite the power to connect with people of all ages than a new puppy. Augie's been on a "getting to know you" tour over these last few days and making friends of everyone he meets. It's absolutely exhausting being that cute! The very best part of introducing him around has been the happy reaction of our

The latest quilt du jour from A Prim and (not so) Proper Quilter

Squirrel!

When texting last weekend with two people who used to be my bosses, I learned that one of them was selling her home of 30+ years and downsizing to a much smaller home in a retirement neighborhood.  I asked her if I could bring something for her new home when she moves in, and she said she has so much stuff to get rid of (think losing 2,000 square feet) that she didn't need another thing.

Yes, she does--she needs a quilt.

I had always intended to make her one.  The other ex-boss got his quilt last ...
