Good morning, my friends. It was a short drive with plenty going on yesterday. We find ourselves in Fort Stockton, Texas, for three nights (two now).

This wasn’t funny when it was happening but I can’t stop laughing about it now. Vince had taken Rita out this morning and he came back and said “She was just walking along and all of a sudden she stopped and wouldn’t put any weight on her left front leg. She was holding it straight...

I'll admit that Easter is kind of a non-event around here, except that Matthew has a birthday coming up on April 2nd. He'll hit the big 4-0 this year. Every year since his birth, I've checked to see if Easter would fall on his birthday. So far, it hasn't. And since Easter baskets are no longer a part of our lives, Easter gets short shrift. Nevertheless, I remember attending Easter sunrise services with my mom, especially when my dad was deployed to Vietnam. She often ...

read moreI was so tired when we got home from the ranch last night, but it was the good kind of tired. My husband, brother and I made the 2.5 hour trip to the monument company to pick up the marker for my parents’ gravesite, then the one hour drive from there to the ranch to… Continue reading It Was a Good Day
read moreGood afternoon, my friends. We had a change of plans for today. In yesterday's post, I had us driving out to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to see the wildflowers. Then, it rained almost all night last night. That wouldn't have stopped us, but when I checked this morning, rain was predicted beginning around 1:00 p.m. Also, it was nearly two hours both directions to drive out there. We weren't really up for that. We'll hold off and go there when we move east next week. Taking that route only adds about 30 minutes to ...

Looked out the window and it was snowing!
Of course, it was gone in an hour. Katt called just as it was going. She wasn't happy because she didn't want it tomorrow. Chances are she will have it tomorrow.
We worked a little around the house. Getting stuff cleaned up. Then I started cooking the lemon meringue pie. I had 45 minutes to get it done! That's when I got Patrick involved. I ...
read moreThis morning, I was up and out the door. I had a couple things I needed to do. I even went to get some pen refills at Staples to find out I got the wrong one. PLUS, one of my favorite pens couldn't be opened to put a replacement in it. So, that didn't help. I may need to get another one tomorrow or wait till the next time I go.
Went to moms and there were 6 of us. Ethel didn't make it. She's been going through a few things lately, and since she's ...
read moreI’ve shared this before but just because these pictures crack me up, I’ll share it again. When we got Cooper, Vince was concerned that Oscar wouldn’t like him. Oscar can be a bit difficult. Cooper is energetic and can be aggravating and Oscar isn’t very patient but I felt like IF Oscar was a problem,...

read moreBaby Jack has arrived - the first grandson of Robin's sister Kaye and her husband Jan. That was certainly exciting news and we caught up with Kaye for lunch while she was staying with the new parents and baby to offer a helping hand. Luckily I had a baby quilt tucked away for a new arrival, wrapped it up and took it to our lunch date.
Every day Oscar seems to get a bit more patient with Cooper. I wonder if Oscar knows what a happy, sweet little guy Cooper is. I wonder if Oscar knows what a grumpy dog he is! When Cooper decides he’s going to do something, he doesn’t stop til it happens. Oscar was sleeping next to...
