Bullet Journal from Becca's Crazy Projects

I had a crazy idea I should start a bullet journal. I'm not sure why. I ordered some notebooks, some stencils, and watched a bunch of YouTube videos on the subject. I'll go over the tools I'm using (and include links if you want to check them out). The disclaimer: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. If you use one of these links and actually buy something (it doesn't even have to be the thing I'm linking to) I get a small commission from Amazon. In a good month, I make enough ...

Odds and Ends from Becca's Crazy Projects

I'm still working on my crochet hexagons.
I've been reading. This was when I was finishing the Wheel of Time (affiliate link) series. I'm so excited about the Prime series that's coming out next month.
I went looking through my notebooks and found the delightful little sea creature hiding in the pages. Sometimes I'm surprised by my own creations.

The Many Tales of My Life, In Stitches from Nikki, In Stitches

The Many Tales of My Life, In Stitches

Anyone else out there tired of hearing the word pivot?

As a creative, pivot is something we do on a regular basis. It’s almost natural to us. Something we can expect to be a part of our story.

Whether we’ve changed our chosen medium (which as creatives is also completely normal), needed to realign what we do in order to make a better living (again, a typical plot twist for makers), or felt the burnout of working so hard for so long and just needed some space to find clarity and remember why we love this path we ...

End of 2020 from Pebble Creek Arts

Well, for the end of 2020, I decided to get my art organized. I had been researching taking photos of my artwork. I had been practicing and trying different things. I finally found what I think is the correct formula for me. Once I did, I set out to re-take all the photos of the artwork I still had in my possession. I spent a long time trying to get it right. I feel like it was worth the effort. I now have photos of my artwork that will print off just right. I also catalogued and made certificates for ...

31 Days of Digital Art from Becca's Crazy Projects

Even though the month of October is over I haven't stopped doing digital art following the great video tutorials offered by BeeJayDel. Sometimes I followed the tutorial very closely, other times I used different pose references or went a different direction. Can you spot the differences?

I am so much more confident with Procreate but I have yet to find my own style. I'll keep working on it.

31 Days of Digital Art from Becca's Crazy Projects

You may have stumbled upon a thing called Inktober, or Drawtober, on social media this month. New art, like fall, is in the air. I love it. I've been following tutorials by BeeJayDel on YouTube and have been getting amazing results.

He is presenting a new video every day in October.

So many fun characters!
I'm learning how to use both Procreate and my Apple Pencil.

Practice is how you get better. I'm getting better every drawing. And I'm loving the Halloween theme! Expect more of these before the month is out. Hopefully, long after that ...

The Eyes Have It! from Ravelly1

Before I begin this post......does anyone have suggestions as to how I can respond to the comments left on each post. I'm at a loss. I use to get notifications via email but now.....NOTHING. It's frustrating because I really want to respond.  HELP!!!!!!!

Okay!

So, when I taught fourth graders, each Friday was art day. We had a blast. I'd stand at the chalkboard with a large piece of paper taped to it and all my pencils at hand. The kids were seated at their desks with all their pencils and colors. That's one ...

October Art from Becca's Crazy Projects

October is Inktober. While I'm not much of a pencil or pen artist, I am a big fan of digital art. I love my undo. Layers are also a super-handy feature. With paper and pen you only get the one chance. Based on tutorial by Art with Flo.

I'm pretty much complete rubbish with following prompts for these sorts of things so I just do what makes me happy. This was done following a tutorial by Art with Flo. If you're new to digital art and Procreate I recommend checking YouTube for some tutorials to help you ...

New iPad and Procreate from Becca's Crazy Projects

Somehow I managed to own this iPad mini for about five years and never dropped it hard enough to crack the screen and then, in one day I dropped it twice in about 10 minutes and this is what I ended up with. I decided it was time to buy a new iPad.
If you already have an iPad setting up your new one is a snap. It is as simple as turning them both on and following the on-screen prompts. I was up and running in about 10 minutes. All my apps and files were copied over so the ...

Winner of the drawing / Νικητής της κλήρωσης from Mania for quilts

Winner of the drawing is shadesofrandom. If she does not send me an email till Wednesday with her address I will draw another winner. Thank you all!

So Many Sharpies from Becca's Crazy Projects

I have been using the super-classy gallon-size ZipLock bag to hold a bunch of Sharpies. I know it isn't fancy, but it works. I wanted to get something to hold all those markers and make it easy to see what colors I had. Fishing around in that plastic bag wasn't conducive to creativity, so I ended up dumping them all out onto my desk and that wasn't much better.
I did some poking around on Amazon until I found one that was well reviewed and would suit my needs. The Marbrasse Wooden Desk Organizer (affiliate link) was ...

Odds and Ends from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sometimes I get a crazy idea to watch some YouTube videos and do something new. I sort of put that on its head with this one. I watched this video from Rachel's Rocks and instead of breaking out the paints I used the tutorial to draw this gnome. He isn't high art, but I made a thing.
While piecing Star Storm, I made some little four-patches to fit in when I needed to piece the strips.
And my current knitting project is going along quite nicely.

Have you tried something new?

#makearteveryday continues, even on holiday! from Creating Chaos

My sketchbook continues to occupy me each day, even when I was on holiday in Gran Canaria last month.

First a catch-up of the few days before we went.....

Rusting compound over stencil on watercolour background
Fabric collage with stitching and buttons

Wooden stamp with added pen drawing

Collage lettering on map background

At the beginning of January I thought about leaving it until February before restarting my sketchbook, mainly because of the two week holiday we had planned.  After much though I decided to go ahead and started to put together my art kit to take.  I kept it ...

Can't Resist Those Red Feet from Carol Sloan

The beautiful Red Footed Falcon.

I am sharing the steps that I went through while drawing/painting this amazing falcon.

I hope that you fall in love with his beautiful colors as much as I have.

The head was a little too chubby in my first attempt. I did like the feet though.

This one looks much better but i ran out of room for the red feet!

I decided to make use of both drawings and put them together, yet separate.

Like this -

I had to clean it up a bit and darken the lines.
It looks like this ...

ORGANIC FLORA - An Adults Coloring Book by Seraphym Art from Seraphym

So I've been a little pre-occupied lately with all this Drawing, Sewing, and Wedding planning. It's been crazy! Plus it's school holidays so I'm trying to get all the creative time I can in now before it's back to the paperwork of Doom!!! Duh Duh Duh.

If you play along on Instagram, I've been busy drawing up my new Colouring Book, Organic Flora. I'm now happy to announce that I have finished the book and it's available now on Etsy in both digital and hard copy formats :)

To celebrate the occasion, I ...
