What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

This morning, we did the usual of cleaning up. Then we went outside and picked a bucket of apples. We have 8 boxes of apples out there that were on the ground. So, we didn't start picking them fast enough. 

Came in and made apple sauce with the first set of apples. Patrick didn't want to do much, which was disappointing since I was wanting to do the whole bucket. I did take 3 apples and make a German Apple Cake for tomorrow. It's in the refrigerator.

Good morning, my friends. It ended up being a very busy morning yesterday. My morning to-do's took me well past lunch time, and so it was late in the day before I could get to any sewing. No matter. The goals I'd set for the day were accomplished despite the lack of time.

Of course before I could do anything else, I did some slow-stitching, finishing the final embroidered block for Le Jardin.

Good morning, my friends. Since we last chatted, a lot of water has passed under the bridge. Thankfully, Tuesday’s Moh’s procedure is in the rearview mirror. My doctor and his staff made the whole experience as pleasant as possible. Good morning, my friends. A lot was accomplished sewing wise yesterday. Possibly the Lemurs used up my supply of sewing mojo, and I needed a break from sewing for a day or two. Yesterday saw me picking up the pace again. First, I finished January's block for Pieces of the Heart.

Good morning, my friends. A little more was accomplished here at the Three Cats Ranch yesterday. Have you noticed how there haven't been any pictures of cats lately? I blame them for the lack of progress on things. They've been outside a lot with this nice weather. Clearly, they have not developed a reliable work ethic. Oh well. We soldier on, don't we?

I made all sorts of different things this week, not all of them easy or useful. At work I have made some ruffled samples to prepare for a forthcoming class. People seem to have mixed feelings about whether ruffles are IN or OUT;)

I tested out the new 790 Ultra to see if it did all that it claims to. It performed very well but I think if I had several thousand pounds to spend I would still opt for the top of the range 990 which has a camera and can do pretty much anything.

Good morning, my friends. No more progress was made on the lemurs yesterday. I spent most of the day on my kitchen projects. By the time I could get to my sewing, I just wanted to sit and stitch on the quilt binding until it was finished. It took of most of the remainder of the afternoon, but eventually, I'd turned all four corners.

Earlier in the day, I canned five pints of zucchini relish. There's still one jar left from a previous relish canning adventure, and ...

While there, I harvested two more zucchini and three more pickling cucumbers. The cucumbers need to pick up the pace a little. I only have about half what I need for a batch of pickles. As for the zucchini...I will do battle with them today.

This weekend I have been recovering from working 12 days straight, including FoQ. When I worked for myself I could unwind gradually and last year I headed up to Glasgow. This past week was far too long and I did very little at the weekend, even going for a Sunday afternoon snooze.

Nessie went for a hair-do but the groomer insisted on leaving her ears shaggy so she now looks like a gremlin. 

I made some mindless Hama beads to finish off my kitchen doorway but when I move I will have to repaint because I stuck them up ...

First, I wanted to try another method with the Granola Cups. We really like these a lot for breakfast, and I think I've finally hit on the magic formula. This was my fourth attempt.

Good morning, my friends. It was a busy day yesterday, with a trek into town for a haircut. Fortunately, the haircut was finished fairly soon...one of the benefits of short hair. I was home early enough in the afternoon to be able to fit in the day's sewing goals. There was some time in the morning, and so I was able to get my morning chores done too. As for sewing, I stitched up Tiny Treasure #71. This one has stem stitch, straight stitch, and fern stitch.

 It's always exciting to get unexpected mail, isn't it.  First to arrive was a postcard from France, showing a beautiful mademoiselle smelling the roses.    This was sent to me by my daughter's best friend who is having a marvelous long holiday traveling around several countries with her husband, they are currently enjoying a River Cruise.  It is so nice of Heather to think of me.  In fact last year when they were in USA, she sent me a postcard of Elvis from Gracelands!  I know I'll never get to Gracelands, so that was really special indeed ...
