O Day Full of Grace from From the Strawberry Patch...

Those of you who've been readers for awhile may remember that we are members of a small mission church, begun about four and half years ago. We haven't had our own, called, pastor for a little over two years now. We've had an interim pastor and many dedicated, faithful supply pastors (one whom we shared with another congregation) over these many months; but not a pastor to call our own. This past

Returning from From the Strawberry Patch...

Ever so s-l-o-w-l-y things are returning to something resembling normal once again. Yesterday we returned to worship after an eleven week forced break, Praise God; if there was ever a time that God's people needed to gather it is now! We warmly welcomed a newly-called and soon-to-be-ordained pastor, too; I have renewed hope for the future and rejoice in God's faithful presence through leaders

This is always a special time of year, wedding anniversaries following Mother's Day; these two chose to be married on the same date as our DIL's precious grandparents, so many years earlier, such a sweet tribute! I thought you might enjoy this side-by-side update of the

Adapting in a time of crisis from Quilt in Piece

A Reflection on Acts 2:42-47 and the modern Church during Covid-19 18 May 2020 This week, I was reflecting on the Church (all churches – for my studies); the functions of the Church as it was in the Early Church as seen in Acts compared to the functions of the Modern Church, as we are living it now (or least as we experienced it before the Covid19 pandemic and during the lockdown), and I started wondering, where has our passion gone. When did we stop being passionate followers of Jesus and started becoming a passerby to God’s Church? Where ...

High Tea at Oruawharo Homestead from Romany Quilting

I like to imagine that I’m a “High Tea” sort of girl – so what could be nicer than High Tea with our ICA rally friends at the wonderful Oruawharo Homestead, built in 1879?  Sounded like my sort of outing.  The house was built by Charles Tringham, a Wellington architect, in the Italianate Style.  We had been here some years previously, so were very keen to return.  Our High Tea was served in the pretty little church, Vincent’s Chapel,  which had been moved onto the property several years ago, and is now used for weddings and other functions.
