Sore & Dealing With It from Quilting My Way

Today I enjoyed a doughnut since Patrick went out to get doughnuts. I try not to eat them but when he goes out once in a while, I just have to have one.

I was sore when I got up and I am still sore! It's uncomfortable to be in pain. I don't want to take pain meds, because it's just around the stitches, but I may have to. I will take a Tylenol around supper time. I just hate being so uncomfortable and not able to do much. I did push it a little today and ...

Quilting At Moms from Quilting My Way

I headed over to moms today. I didn't take anything or do anything. My surgery stitches were sore today. I showed mom the surgery area. She was surprised at how big the stitches were. I told her it's just sore from time to time. Plus the nipple is really sore when I brush across it. That has to be because of those shorts. It was funny how a couple of the gals down play the surgery. It's a quick and easy surgery but the waiting to heal is the hard part. I'm still not 100% ready ...

Doctor Appointment Today from Quilting My Way

This morning we headed to Olympia to see the surgeon. We arrived early and was surprised at how quick I was able to get in. The nurse was different but it seemed to be his regular nurse. I had a different gal when I went to see him before.

He looked over the "scars" and told me I can take off the tape when it starts to peel. I showed him the rash and he said to continue with the stuff I'm using. If it doesn't go away in a couple weeks he can give me some meds ...

Had To Get Out Of The House from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick went golfing again. I think he's crazy leaving so early and golfing in the rain! He goes because it gives him something to do other than watching TV all day.

I enjoyed playing a few games before he got home. He was home by 11:30 am. I told him I was tired of looking at the 4 walls in this house. So, we decided to go to the casino. We arrived (without my ID) since Patrick said I didn't need it. I'm always telling him I need it. This time he got caught ...

Working On "Normal" After Surgery from Quilting My Way

Today I thought I would get moving and get my blog going again. It's kinda hard at times when you're dealing with cancer. Not the hard part, but the part where your brain wonders if they got everything, will I have to go through radiation? That kinda of wondering.

I played games again this morning. Then I decided I needed to get off my butt and work on some beading. Since beading is about the only thing I can do right now. I would love to cross stitch, but because of the position of where I hold the ...

Surgery Day from Quilting My Way

I realize it's been a few days since I posted, and my surgery was also a few days ago.

I was still concerned about my coughing, since the cold. I had called the nurse 2 days before to let her know and we agreed that I would go ahead with the surgery. We left home at 4:30 am and were (surprisingly) at Kaiser by 5:40 am. Not much traffic if at all. Please I think Patrick was driving a little faster than usual.

I checked in at 6 am and was taken back to a room where ...

It's Been A Rough Weekend - And Surgery Comes Thursday from Quilting My Way

I haven't been able to post the lost 3 days because of illness. I had/have a bad cold. I'm just now getting over it. It's been one of those weeks where I spend 2 1/2 days in bead sleeping, trying to get over this cold. It was a chill, then fever, chill, and fever the whole time. Today was the first day I felt what I can say is "normal" but not quiet.

I had to call the nurse to let her know I was ill and getting over it. There was a slight possibility ...

Visited With Mom And Nancy from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up early and out the door with 10 quilts to go to the museum. I headed to moms first, stopping at Dutch Brothers for coffee and tea.

Arrived around 10 am and Nancy wasn't there yet. She forgot she told me 10 but told mom 11. They were making Rosettes today. So, I helped with that. Got the batter going, worked on getting the rosettes to come off the irons. We finally figured it out. Then Debbie called saying she was done sooner than she thought she would be.

I spend 2 hours with mom ...

Enjoyed Being Home Today from Quilting My Way

Today I was enjoying being home. I really like having the time to sit and just relax before the holidays and surgery. I did get a call from the nurse about surgery next week. I'm starting to get nervous but trying not to. Take each day, and I'll be fine!

Patrick went golfing but was back home by 11:00, guess they only did 9 holes. So, I didn't get the day to myself but that was okay too.

I worked on getting the next ornament word chart done. I'm only about half way on the ...

Just a RELAXING Day - Sore OF from Quilting My Way

I didn't get up till 11 am this morning. I didn't even want to get up then. It wasn't that I was tired, I just felt like staying in bed. The rain came down and the day was dreary. So, why get up? When I finally got moving, I played games. And watched a TV movie.

Then around 2 pm we headed out to Safeway to pick up some stuff for Patrick to make his bark. I picked up stuff for my artichoke dip that I will do for Monday. I have 2 potlucks this week.

Came ...

Black Friday - Not My Thing from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up with Patrick. He headed off to golfing around 9:30 am since he would have to wait till around 10 am to go out. The frost hit last night, so they had to wait. I got a text around 11 saying he was still waiting.

While I was walking, mom and Debbie called me. It was fun because I went through my walking so fast it didn't seem to bother me. I love to have someone to talk to while walking. Trouble is Ron is in CA right now. Debbie was picking me up ...

Class Today from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick stayed home from golfing. He wanted to take a break. But then he told me he is golfing tomorrow - so not sure where "Break" comes in.

He worked outside most of the day. Dropped leaves off at Phils. While he was doing that, I worked on my exercises and walking. After that, it was time to get on the computer to join my class. Since I was TA, I really didn't get to work on anything. I still have my piece in the drawer. I need to mark my work. One of the things I did ...

Enjoying The Day! from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up around 8 am. It felt good to get up at that time. I got in my exercises and walking. I also sat and enjoyed the morning. Debbie stopped by to drop off some money for the QOV. She had done a presentation at the Centralia Masonic Lodge last night. It went really well.

Patrick arrived around the time Debbie was here. After she left, we headed out. Patrick wanted to spend the day out and about. We went back to the casino. AND actually, did really well. We were there 4 hours this time.

Quiet Day - Thinking Of My Cancer - And Cleaning from Quilting My Way

This morning I slept till 10 am! What a shock! I have been doing that more lately and for some reason when I was showering, I wondered if that is because my body is fighting off the cancer. Probably not, but it was a thought.  Then my mind wondered again on this. My biopsy "spot" hasn't quite healed. It's still there like a cut that doesn't want to heal. It is still a little tinder but not enough to worry about. AND of course, my mind wondered again - what if that biopsy put a hole in the ...

Wow! Busy Day! And Then Again, Not So Much! from Quilting My Way

This morning both of us slept in. I think I have finally caught up on my sleep. lol

We got to cleaning. I worked on the vacuuming and getting stuff put away. The house was having "piles" all over the place. I got tired of seeing them and put things away - YEP! I actually put them away and didn't start another pile in the area where they belonged! lol

Then we sat to watch the TV. Seahawks were tied at the end of the game, so we got fed up and turned the TV. Patrick checked to see if ...

We Made The Paper Today! from Quilting My Way

This morning started out with heading to Connie's to get the quilt I need for tomorrow's presentation. Then off to moms for our meeting. Of course, mom had to mention "your news" to everyone. I told her I really didn't want it spread. We had a disagreement about it, but I told her since she mentioned it to everyone, she might as well tell them. She said some of it, and I told the rest. I really didn't want that conversation.

I worked on putting the label on the quilt for tomorrow. We now have 5 ...

LC Commissioners & Surgeon from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up with Patrick. Debbie picked me up and we headed to the Lewis County Commissioner meeting. I am disappointed that you can see the quilts that we showed. But I'm very thankful to Lewis County for helping us out. We are looking forward to seeing how the boxes turned out and where they will be for us. When we were done there, we headed for Dutch Brothers for double points day and I bought Debbie a coffee for taking me this morning. Next stop was the museum to drop off and pick up quilts. Once ...

Treatment from Jo's Country Junction

I had my radiation treatment yesterday for the cancer that had moved to my spine. I had every intention of writing a long blog post about it…but, I’m just home now. It’s 7:45 pm and I’m pooped. I’m okay. Everyone treated me wonderful…but I’m super tired. I don’t know if it was the treatment, the …
