pigeon in a bird bath paper pieced quilt block designed by Dione Gardner-Stephen of Clever Chameleon

Welcome to Day 6 of the “It’s A Garden Party” row along!

Please excuse the pigeon. He says he’ll be with us in a moment.

Once a year Marian of Seams to be Sew hosts an amazing event – a huge row along where lots of designers come together on one project. This year we have each designed a garden themed block for you to collect – mix and match them into a project that you love!

Hello Fall! A Blog Hop from Stitchin at Home

Today is my turn in the 'Hello Fall Blog Hop'. Thanks to, Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks, for this great idea.

I was in Northern Ontario this past weekend at my son's, as you can see in the photo below the leaves are just starting to change. I love fall with its beautiful colours and with the weather changing to cooler temps it's time to start thinking of curling up under a quilt and reading a book or even binge watching Netflix.

a little inspiration

I had a project in mind with a bit of a Canadian ...

A Little Birdie: Colour & Inspiration Tuesday from Clever Chameleon

A little birdie wants to tell you…

… all about the quilt I am making. It’s from the It’s A Garden Party row along. Oh, oh, he is hopping with excitement! Of course, the little birdie must not tell you too much just yet, but he can drop a few morsels of information. He can definitely show you what I’ve sewn from patterns already released in the It’s A Garden Party row along.

He can also tell you who is participating in the hop next. The hop hop of excitement has really only just got into full ...

Hummingbirds and Hot Springs: Colour & Inspiration Tuesday from Clever Chameleon

Aren’t Hummingbirds the greatest?

Don’t tell the Chameleon, but I think so. One of Nature’s little oddities, and beautiful into the bargain. We don’t have hummingbirds in Australia, and I’ve never seen one, although I’d love to one day. In the meantime I have settled for making an appliqué version…. yup, I started playing around with some of the free patterns being offered in the It’s A Garden Party Row Along that popped up last week. I hope you’ve had a chance to look into that blog hop for both the patterns ...

Welcome to the Garden Party Row Along Blog Hop from Stitchin at Home

Thanks to Marian at Seams to Be Sew who is the organizer behind this blog hop. This is my second year designing a row, this year's theme is a garden party.

Northcott Fabrics generously sponsors the row along, providing each of us designers with up to 1 yard of fabric.

Once we knew that the theme was going to be a Garden row.  I knew I would be making some kind of flower for my row, deciding what that flower would look like was the hard part. You see I love flowers, roses are my favourite. However ...

Welcome to our 2019 Once Upon A Story Row-A-Long. A big THANK YOU to Marian Pena and her hours of preparation time organizing this years event.

My featured fairy tale is The Last Unicorn, by Peter Beagle.

The Last Unicorn is a lovely story about a unicorn who dreams big!

Dream Big

Yellow Butterfly Hijinks: Colour & Inspiration Tuesday from Clever Chameleon

Yellow Butterfly Hijinks colour board at Clever Chameleon

The little blue flower that started a neighbourhood dispute…..

Or was it the yellow butterfly? Or someone else entirely…..?

Watching the local pollinators compete, you would be forgiven for thinking that flowers are scarce in Arkaroola right now. Which, I think you probably get the idea: they are not. The cooler weather, plus the months elapsed since our big rain, has resulted in a bloom of both flowers and insects. Wanted and otherwise.

But apparently some flower locales are more desirable than other blooming addresses. Even within the best Cattle Bush Restaurants there appears to be premium tables where the ...

It's cool to be square blog hop from Dreamworthy Quilts

This week is the "It's Cool to be Square Blog Hop" hosted by
the delightful Carol of Just Let Me Quilt.com

Today is MY DAY!  Hooray!  I am excited to share with you some of my SQUARE projects!  My interpretation of the theme mostly features square shaped medallion quilts, but I do have a few things made from squares at the end of the post.

Generally I make rectangular quilts, but some just need to be square particularly if they are a medallion type of design.

Several years back I made a couple of unique log cabin medallion ...

A Warm Tribute from Sew Preeti Quilts

The Quilted Legacy Blog Hop is an effort to honor the legacy of Paula Budinger, who passed away earlier this year.  Paula blogged at http://paulabquilts.blogspot.com and later at https://paulabquilts.com. Many of us knew her through her blog and quilts. Paula loved colorful, scrappy quilts, and made kid quilts for Project Linus. Paula also studied quilt history, learned dating old quilts, and collected antique and doll quilts.

To celebrate Paula's life and her love of quilting, some quilter-bloggers decided on a blog hop where each one of us shares a quilt we make for a ...
