Getting Back On Track from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick left for golfing, and I slept a little longer.  When I did get up, I decided to get the laundry done. It's been a while since I have done it. At least it wasn't that bad.

While I was working on the laundry and cleaning up the kitchen, I was playing my game. I was able to get myself up in the 300's for the challenge. Trouble is, it's going on for another 3 days. I just want to be up there for the prizes.

Then I decided I could do both, so ...

Spending Time With Mom And Trip To Olympia from Quilting My Way

This morning, I had to get moving. Was at moms by 9:20 am. We then headed up to Olympia. She needed to have her hearing aids checked. She was having trouble and wanted to get them check. We arrived at Costco, and they took her hearing aids to clean them and then check them. There was a lot of "stuff" in the hearing aids, so it just needed cleaned. We shopped while we waited. I needed to pick up a few things that we missed last week. Both mom and I found some crab!! So, we bought 2 containers ...

A Fun Sunday from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick and I went to the casino (because I wanted my gift), and I got the grill that they were giving away. I wanted it, so made Patrick go today instead of Tuesday since he wasn't able to get the gift then. I'm still not sure which gift was given last week, could be the crock pot or the diamond electric skillet. I will see which one I get next week and will know. Like Patrick said, they are cheap, but they do work. Some of the stuff we get is really nice, others are crap ...

In Louisville Today from Quilting My Way

Yesterday was spent in the airplane. We went from Portland OR to Huston Texas and then to Louisville KY. We ended the day in a hot tub at my sister-in-laws.

I got about 5 hours sleep. Patrick and the damn night light.

We were up and planned to go to the Louisville Slugger museum.  We toured their factory.  I really enjoyed it, but Patrick didn't seem to care.

We had our picture taken in front of the huge baseball bat at the museum.

I found it fun to see. Then I had a call from the Veterans Memorial Museum ...

Hello Saturday & No Power from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up early to get to play my war game. I was playing another part later in the day but decided I wasn't going to do it. So, I got out of it. I get tired of being killed off. lol

I needed to get the kits ready for Colleen, since she was coming over to get them. Patrick suggested we work the bolts out of the pantry and put them out where I can get to them - let alone see them. So, we got it set up.

Now it's easy to see and pick ...

Almost Had Two Days To Myself! from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up to play the war game at 9am. Then I got busy, vacuuming, mopping the floor, doing laundry among other things.

Then when I sit down to listen to my book and start beading, Patrick came home from golfing. He played pretty good today considering it was 40 degrees.

As I continued to mess with the laundry, I beaded.

I was able to get the first one done. Five more to go. I really do like working on this. I will probably do this one again and wait on the other half later.

Mom called when ...

Casino And Other Stuff from Quilting My Way

Today, we were up earlier than usual to get moving. We headed to New Balance shoes at the outlet stores. I needed to get new shoes to see if that was part of my problem with not healing on my ankle. I ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes because there was a sale on the shoes, plus buy one get one. I ended up with 2 pairs of shoes for $116. which is about what I paid for my Skeeters a couple years ago. I know, we are not supposed to wear the same shoes for 2 or 3 ...

Quiet Day Of Beading from Quilting My Way

Today, I was up earlier than usual. I had to meet Kelsey to get a quilt and give her another one. We met at the museum.

Came home and Patrick was looking better. But he was still in bed. Then I sat and worked on some beading. I took apart the tapestry piece that had seed beads and not delica beads. I'm going to do that design in delica beads later.

Then after about 3 hours of that, I worked on my ornaments again.

I started the first panel of 6. I was able to get a good 1 ...

Took The Time To Bead Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick wasn't doing very well. I tried to keep quiet and let him sleep. He spent most of the day in bed.

When he was up and in the living room, I moved to the computer room. I wanted to learn how to make the earrings that are on YouTube.  I liked them and thought I could make a pair.

First, I tried with Delica 11/0 beads. She was working it with seed beads 11/0. They are different from each other. I didn't like the way this one was coming out. It didn't ...

A Quiet But Fun Day from Quilting My Way

Today I was up early, because I wanted to play my war game. I had 2 today. Patrick was golfing so I could play. At 9 am I played for an hour with friends.

Patrick got home just as I finished up my journal about living with cancer. I figure it's easier to write it down then it is to share on a blog. I had thoughts that needed to be on paper and not in my head.

Then I played waiting to hear from Phil. When I did, he said he didn't need me. So, Patrick and ...

We Lost! Oh, Well! from Quilting My Way

Today, I slept in because I could. We didn't have embroidery and probably won't for a while. I did get the mail that I didn't get 2 weeks ago. It all finally arrived. One was from BDEIG stating we are in trouble. Our membership has dropped to below 200 members, and they need help from all of us. I agree but wonder in a way if it's a little late. I tried to tell them when I was on the board that they needed to work on newer designs and different pattern other than flowers. It ...

Got Busy Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I decided to head into town and get a few things done today. We didn't have our BE meeting because Geralyn was at her Wool group. Looks like things are getting harder with us meeting. I have had to cancel all last month and now it looks like we will be canceling part of this month as well. Oh, well.

I was in town, stopped to see Phil while I was in town. I got some stuff at Safeway, and the chicken looked good and fresh, so I bought some. I had to keep it warm - in ...

Still Not There Yet from Quilting My Way

I'm getting tired of this cough! I'm getting better, but it's driving me crazy!

I slept in today, because I could. lol I went to check on the game I was playing and found I was getting points for just sitting in the towers. I'm okay with that because I didn't want to play the war game today. I did play my Seeker's Note game. I'm still trying to get it done.

I really haven't been in the mood to do anything lately. Not sure if it's just not feeling good ...

Trip To Olympia To See Sheryl from Quilting My Way

This morning, I had an appointment in Olympia. Sheryl and I worked out getting together for her group to quilt 10 of our quilts. She also gave me 8 quilts from her stuff. I told her to feel free and take any of the quilts I brought for their group. They aren't the prettiest, but they will do in a pinch. She is getting those quilted for us.

I had my appointment and I'm comfortable with what the surgeon said. I was asking about the fluid in my breast that was where the cancer was. It's common ...

Enjoyed The Day from Quilting My Way

Today, I was playing war games twice. We didn't win either one. lol

Then I enjoyed watching TV while Patrick was golfing. I was able to get a few shows in before he got home.

Then he went outside and worked in the garden. After that, he slept on the swing. He needs his naps during the day. lol

I was able to work on my beading.

I received my Round Robin today. Erin Ferre sent this. I need to think about what I want to add. We can add anything we want. It will take me a bit ...

Two For One Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up earlier than usual. Patrick stayed home. It's his "day off" for golfing. He will be back at it tomorrow.

I spent the morning downstairs, cutting backing and batting for 7 quilts. I have been washing the backing all day. Since I wash them in hot water, it takes about 2 hours to get them washed. So, I put 2 or 3 of the same color in at once. Had 3 loads today. I will be taking 10 of them up to Olympia next week. I need to do another one or two. I'm ...

Another Monday Without Embroidery from Quilting My Way

Today was BE day. It ended up that the others were busy, so we cancelled yet another. I believe this is 3 x this month.

So, I slept in while Patrick went golfing. I got up and played for a bit. Then I got laundry going. Only one load. I believe it's still in the dryer. lol - Guess I will "fluff" it up tomorrow and then fold the clothes.

We didn't do much today. Patrick and I watched some TV. Then we watched genealogy. I worked on my genealogy before the show. I also got a message from ...

Getting Ready For Our Garage Sale from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick went to his PT appointment, and I was visiting with mom. I got to see the photos of my great nephew. He's adorable! He's also a year old now.

I was checking out mom's applique she did for Bob's grandchild. I love what she did.

It brought out the colors when she outlined it in black. I will work on mine later. It's so cute!!

Georgie got her duck done. But now she has to do the embroidery. It's cute too, but I bet the outlining will make it pop! This ...

Another Stiff Day from Quilting My Way

Had a hard night last night. My hip and back were tight all night. Took me a while to even move over. When I got up this morning, it wasn't fun.

I heated up my back for a bit. That seems to help. I will try and fix it for tomorrow. We need to get up by 5:45 am to leave around 6 am to meet at Sandy's house. We will leave from there and be in Auburn in time for our 8 am class start time. Then I'm thinking around noon we will go to ...

Stayed Home Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I woke in pain again. It was a little better than yesterday, but still hard to walk first thing in the morning. I called Debbie and told her I wasn't going to be able to make it to the presentation.

Patrick went golfing but checked on me from time to time. I got a couple things for Debbie, and she stopped to get them before heading to the museum. Donna called to let me know we had a veteran waiting for our 11 am presentation. She wanted to know what to do, since he was scheduled for ...
