Three Thrift Store Finds, What Wanda Said, Embroidery for Christmas from Canadian Needle Nana

Chicory is in bloom along the country road sides. It is a true late summer sight here in Ontario. I love the blooms and their unique shade of blue. Blue always seems like a special colour when found in flowers.

And I was happy to welcome bluebirds at the birdbath and the feeder all summer long. Here is a small one about to take a dip.

I Love Me A Bargain from Wedding Dress Blue

Saturday, Husband and I went to a few yard sales in the area. It was my bargain finding day.

TWO queen size batts at $2 each.

A total of about 20 yards of quilting fabric (including two larger pieces suitable for backings) for a total of $9.

Yep, I love me a bargain.

ps–I feel a little guilty because Husband found no good bargains, unless you count that he got to take me (and my bargains) home at the end of it all.

All Time Best Thrift Store Find, Scrappy Table Runner, Crocheted Olympic Bouquets, The Beautiful Butterfly's Ball from Canadian Needle Nana

 Time to share with you all (if I haven't done so already; my memory for past blog items is fuzzy) my very best bargain from a thrift store.  I was told the set had just been brought in from a farm house about to be sold. The sugar was still in the sugar bowl. This is Petit Point by Royal Albert, a pattern discontinued in 1997.

Rule #6, Bargains, Delicious Macaroni, Flying Geese, Courthouse Steps from Canadian Needle Nana

 Rule #6 Walk Tall.  In keeping with the walking...One of my aims during my year leading up to 70 was to be as fit as I could be. And part of that was improving my posture.  With decades of bending over childrens' heads and desks and a needle or book etc., well let's just say,  I was not happy with my posture. And I have a fear of developing a hump on my back.
