My Lord and my God! from Quilt in Piece

“My Lord and my God!” A Reflection for the Feast of St Thomas, Apostle John 20:24–29 Poor Thomas. He’s often remembered by that nickname: “Doubting Thomas.” And yet, when I read this passage, I see someone who was not faithless but deeply honest. Someone who loved Jesus enough to be heartbroken. Someone who longed not only for answers, but for truth he could touch. Thomas wasn’t with the others when Jesus first appeared after the resurrection. We’re not told why. Maybe he needed space to grieve. Maybe he was scared. Maybe he just didn’t ...

I pieced the scrappy blocks for both of these at the same time. Instead of combining the light and dark blocks, I paired them with light and dark prints. This one in pinks.
This on in purples. It's great to use of a bunch of scraps into a fun quilt. Both trimmed and ready for the next Annapolis Quilts for Kids.

Fabric Acquisition from Becca's Crazy Projects

Friday afternoon I zipped over to the closest fabric store (they were having a sale) and grabbed some essentials. From the bottom up, backing for my BBMQ, three yards of blue floral because it was in the clearance section, three yards of light gray solid for an unplanned quilt, and four fat eighths. They are like candy in the check out.

I've been trying to decide what my next big quilt project will be.

Odds & Ends from Becca's Crazy Projects

I haven't been sewing as much in the last week or two. I have done some art, like this collection of heart-shaped balloons.
I painted the background on this rock that I painted a heart on more than a year ago.
I took a walk by the pond and saw these turtles stacked up in the sunshine.
And I bought a box of So Fine thread from Superior threads to replace colors I had used up. What have you been up to?

Knitting: Dotted Rays from Becca's Crazy Projects

A couple more wedges completed.
I shifted to working from both balls or yarn so could keep the color changes from narrowing. I really like how it is working up. This is the part where it starts to take a long time to knit each wedge.
