August Goals and a Stash Report from Sew........This Is My Blog

I'm still so excited about meeting my July goal, that I'm ready to set another somewhat challenging goal for August.  So.  Here we go.

A while back one of my nieces asked me to make a quilt for her daughter-in-law, Cerena, who had loved one of her gramma's quilts so much and for so long that it was completely worn out.  At the same time my friend, Denise, was working on a quilt for her DIL and needed motivation, so we decided to make it a sew-along.  She was using the pattern "Mountain Horizon" by Brittany Lloyd ...

"Chain Link" - Noah's Quilt from Sew........This Is My Blog

Last winter I participated in another sew-along with my online quilty friends.  This time we used the "Chain Link" pattern by Generations Quilt patterns.   You can find a free tutorial here.  

I pulled a bright green and a bright yellow from my stash and a dark gray for the background.



I cut out the whole quilt, but after I made just one block I realized I did not like that gray.   Back to the stash!

I found just the right thing.  Dark green on an even darker green.  Perfect!

As Ye Sew... from From the Strawberry Patch...

...so shall ye RIP! Outer blocks with brown setting, slated for removal. You might remember, if you've been reading about my progress with the Temecula Quilt Co.'s "Scavenger Hunt" sew-along, that I had two outer borders that didn't fit and that I decided I really didn't like, anyway.
