Finishing the Vintage Christmas Placemats from From My Carolina Home

The placemats are finally done!!   When we left off last time, I had all the embroidery work done on the placemats and was ready to quilt them.  All the blocks had three inch strips of the directional ornament fabric put on each side for a placemat size of 12 x 18.

I loaded the longarm with a big piece of the ornament fabric for backing, and placed the little mats close to each other in a long row.  I had to be mindful of the directional print of the backing.

Ultimate Home Decor Blog Hop {Winter Forest Placemats + Giveaway} from Little Bunny Quilts

Today is my day to share on the Ultimate Home Decor Blog Hop with Island Batik!

The collection that I have been sewing with is Winter Forest!

I have really enjoyed the fun wintry prints in this line!

Here are all of the fabrics in the bundle I received:

For my project, I cut 3.5" strips of each fabric to make strip pieced patchy placemats. I used the equivalent of 24 - 3.5" squares in each placemat top in a 6x4 arrangement.

I was actually able to cut enough from my strip sets to make six placemats plus a ...

Sewing Projects for a Full Heart (and Bobbin)! from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

When someone is covered in a cozy, warm quilt, they are reminded that someone sat at a sewing machine for hours, carefully piecing and stitching, with them in mind. A handmade table runner sitting on the family dining table shows a loving home to all who feast there. To be gifted a wall hanging is a reminder that they are loved by its maker.

Valentine’s day is one of the best holidays to make for because it’s about love and we LOVE to make! Here are some sweet as pie project ideas:

I am in full Thanksgiving prep mode -- and also working every day other than Thanksgiving this week -- so today I am doing a round up post of some of my favorite tutorials about placemats that are free! These are all quick and easy projects that you could potentially squeeze in before your Thanksgiving dinner if you're feeling ambitious.

Jet Setter Placemats: These placemats were made with yardage and precuts, but the small squares could easily be cut from scraps!

Bunny Patch Placemats: These are my favorite to use at home! These were made from 10" squares but could easily ...

Placemats and Poilane Sour Dough Bread from Georgia Girl Quilter

Everyone needs and uses placemats. And if you have the time, it’s easy to make your own and a great way to use up fabric scraps and small pieces of batting if you're quilting the placemats.

Just think of all the different colors and designs that can be incorporated in making your own unique placemats that go with your very own color scheme and personal decor. No more being content with the colors and designs offered by the big box stores, allowing some unknown buyer to determine your decor.

Here are some placemats I’ve made over the ...

Quilt Blocks to Placemats from From the Strawberry Patch...

It's a short jump from quilt blocks to placemats; and much more user-friendly than having quilt blocks stack up in the stash closet! I chose the tiny gray dot background for this years' BOM classes at my LQS; we're using Studio 180 tools this time: Wing Clipper, V-Block and Corner Beam; I love the sessions and the techniques but quickly realized that I can only make SO MANY quilts! Our son and
