Good morning, my friends. We had a short day of driving yesterday, and we checked off our last sight-seeing item of the trip at Shoshone Falls, near Twin Falls, Idaho. Anticipating a short drive, we could luxuriate in a leisurely morning. Sadie was happy to have more time taking her morning sunbath.

Not too far down the road, we crossed the state line into Idaho.

Good morning, my friends. We had a short day of driving yesterday, and we checked off our last sight-seeing item of the trip at Shoshone Falls, near Twin Falls, Idaho. Anticipating a short drive, we could luxuriate in a leisurely morning. Sadie was happy to have more time taking her morning sunbath.

Good morning, my friends. Well...the best laid plans.... We find ourselves in Perry, Utah, this morning. While hitching up yesterday morning, Mike noticed another broken leaf spring on the RV. You might recall we had a broken leaf spring at the beginning of this trip while we were in Petaluma, California. (Sigh.) It probably broke because of a broken bolt that would have tweaked the spring and put pressure on it. These sorts of things are caused by the rough roads we've traveled. Hopefully, Mike can find the part he needs to replace it, and then it will ...

Good morning, my friends. We crossed over into Utah yesterday afternoon. We'll be heading back across the state line into Colorado for today's activities, but it doesn't change the fact that we're one state closer to home. 

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, it was a slow morning since our day of driving would be short. I spent some time working on my slow stitching, and made a little more progress.

Good morning, my friends. We crossed over into Utah yesterday afternoon. We'll be heading back across the state line into Colorado for today's activities, but it doesn't change the fact that we're one state closer to home.

Good morning, my friends. Well, I told Mike I should have named this trip the Forty-niners trip...49 states, 49 years married. We knew there were no good restaurants ("good," meaning the kind of place you go for a celebration) in Kremmling, and so we decided to have a celebratory breakfast yesterday morning. We started with mimosas, and then moved on to breakfast. Mike had Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. I had a really gorpy Caramel Apple Hotcake. Mine sounded better on the menu than it tasted in my mouth, but no matter. It was a nice way to celebrate. We ...

Good morning, my friends. It's a sunny morning here in Colorado Springs. Miss Sadie was soaking up the sun until she got too hot. We're in a very nice state park, Cheyenne Mountain State Park, just southwest of Colorado Springs. Colorado has very nice state parks. We stayed in one a few years back when we visited Ouray and Silverton. 

This was our view for much of yesterday's drive.

We're in a very nice state park, Cheyenne Mountain State Park, just southwest of Colorado Springs. Colorado has very nice state parks. We stayed in one a few years back when we visited Ouray and Silverton.

Good morning, my friends. Well, I'm pretty happy to say we made the right decision to leave Kansas when we did. So long, Kansas. Thanks for the memories. But, yeah. Your weather was sucking bad. We had a couple of nice days at Wilson Lake, but that wind was enough to blow us into Oz, which was not on our itinerary. It was windy when we arrived at this RV park in Limon, but the wind died down after an hour or so, and we had a peaceful night's sleep. Ahhhhhhhh.

So let's talk about yesterday's ...

Good morning, my friends. Well, I'm pretty happy to say we made the right decision to leave Kansas when we did. So long, Kansas. Thanks for the memories. But, yeah. Your weather was sucking bad. We had a couple of nice days at Wilson Lake, but that wind was enough to blow us into Oz, which was not on our itinerary.
