Good morning, my friends. We had a lazy morning yesterday. We got up early enough, but then Mike and Smitty went back to bed. While they slept a little longer, I finished of the 7th of the Raggedy and Friends blocks.

Good morning, my friends. It was one of our longer days of driving yesterday. We had gray skies almost all day long with very brief sunbreaks. Somehow I was expecting more when we reached Hope, but it is what it is. I have lots to tell you about our drive yesterday, so let's just get right to it.
Right away after pulling out of the campground, we crossed over Kashwitna Lake.

Good morning, my friends. Well, we've made it to the first sight-seeing stop of our trip. Dawson Creek is the beginning of the Alcan Highway. Now that we're here, it occurs to me that we're really doing two trips this time around. We're touring Alaska, but we're also making something of a pilgrimage by traveling the entire length of this historic highway. You can read more about it at that link I've given you. Here's a little image of the route we'll be taking between Dawson Creek and Delta Junction.

Good afternoon, my friends! I'm starting this post from our stop for the night in Prince George, British Columbia. I won't post until tomorrow morning, however. For now, I want to caption my photos while it's all still fresh in my mind. We can finish our chat over coffee in the morning. Okay? Okay.
So we left Lone Butte fairly early. We had a shorter day of driving today...just 211 miles. We drove BC Hwy 97 heading north for the entire day. As I've mentioned, we're traveling a gold rush road, and so we ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. Happily, I'm sitting at my desk at home to write this post. How are y'all doing? It's been a while since we've spoken while stationary. Feels weird, doesn't it?
So lemme tell you about the drive home, and then I'll tell you what's going to happen next. We left Klamath Falls under sunny skies. The road out of Klamath Falls runs alongside Upper Klamath Lake. It's the largest body of fresh water by surface area in Oregon. It is approximately 25 miles (40 km) long and 8 miles ...

read moreGood morning, my friends! We're back in our home state this morning, and just a few hours from home. I know there are two 4-legged people who will be very glad to be out of the camper this afternoon.
Let's back up to yesterday's drive. For the second time this trip, we traveled in three states. We left Reno under cloudy skies and the threat of rain, but look out there at that spotlight of sunshine on the hillside.
We're finally back in the land of barns, and I took a lot of barn photos yesterday ...

Good morning, my friends. We're 216 miles closer to home this morning. We still have three days of driving ahead of us, and a long way to go. If I had to choose one word to describe yesterday's drive, it would be "monotonous." So, first, I'll tell you about the most exciting part of the day, and then we'll end with the monotony. How does that sound? I know...monotony. Everybody's favorite.
As we sat eating our Sunday morning pancakes, four wild turkeys strolled by.

Good morning, my friends. We have arrived!!! Let the off-road fun begin!!! We're just waking up and drinking our coffee, but we'll be heading out soon to drive Shafer Canyon Road, which is a part of Canyonlands National Park. We ended up in Moab some years back when we had to run for our lives from a big storm in Colorado. Our entire itinerary was wiped out that trip, and we ended up in Moab where we rented a Jeep and drove Shafer Canyon Road. That was nearly 20 years ago, and we've wanted to come back ...
