Free Online Word Games, Appliqued Hearts, Cheeky Squirrel, More June Blooms from Canadian Needle Nana

Mister sun has been blazing all week.

I've been outside stitching on the veranda every day. I've also been swimming and so glad for the exercise of it. All this time outside has made me think of how our winters really do make us hibernate to a certain extent. For the most part a happy hibernation luckily.
I'm noticing this uptick in outside activities is also making me feel better about this isolation.  Things are gradually opening but for folks in our age range, there are still warnings and precautions to be heeded. But just the thought ...

News From the Ranch, Episode 1792 from Prairie Moon Quilts

It’s been a rough month of June here on the ranch, and June is only half over. Like My Cowboy says, “When it rains, it pours.” We seem to go along real smoothly for quite awhile, then a bunch of bad stuff happens all at once.

Back in the winter, when I had my foot in a boot, and My Cowboy was having to do winter chores all alone, even tho he’s the one with congestive heart failure, we had a serious discussion about downsizing our little ranch. We decided to get out of the cow/calf operation ...

Cute puppies from Jean's Quilting Page

I started working on some dogs from the pattern Dog Gone Cute by Sew Fresh Quilts the other day. They are fun to make, plus lots of different versions. These are the first two I've sewn, but I have 3 more cut out and ready to go.

I made one of her other patterns last winter...Giraffes in a Row. I had so much fun making them too.

The patterns are for pieced animals and she has a pattern for just about every animal.
We had a Zoom bridal shower today for my nephew's fiance. They live in ...

The Four Beasts of Heaven from Nina Paley

And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy ...

Theocronomics from Nina Paley

One notable thing about the Bible, from the Old Testament, is that sins are transferrable. Just as debt is transferrable in an economy. So the Bible establishes a…Sin Economy.

“…in the death of Christ the “guilt” of sin is transferred to Christ from believers.  Though we are all “guilty” as sinners before God; we can rest and trust that Christ took upon himself the guilt of those who trust in him.” – source

In the Old Testament, Abraham is to sacrifice his son Isaac, but then God opens the first Sin Bank, and accepts a goat in his stead. Exodus ...

Alaska Almost Done from Quilts....etc.

A border needs to be cut – 4 pieces of fabric, cut and sew and it will be done – first today I need to give this top a good pressing and get all the seams down and press the border fabric while I am at it.  This quilt top will probably be next on […]

A Little Stitching and Some Time Outside from Quilts....etc.

71 degrees for February 2nd! wasn’t that nice.  It was time for a nice walk out at the trails – Melanie called and wanted to know did I want to take a walk – of course!  Such a nice day.  Not very green at this time of year – but give it another month and […]

A Happy Surprise! from Prairie Moon Quilts

Happy New Year to me!

My Cowboy went out at chore time last night, and discovered that Blossom had twins during the afternoon!

Blossom is my best nanny goat, the best mother, and never needs help, and prefers to be left alone, so it’s probably good I didn’t know she was having them so I didn’t hover.

We turned Wyatt in with the nannies on November 1st, so we would have April babies, but back in the summer, he broke into the nanny pen a couple different times, and I guess he had just enough time to ...

News From the Ranch, Episode 1739 from Prairie Moon Quilts

It’s been awhile since I posted a News From the Ranch episode. It’s been quite a year around here. Last time I updated, the snow was just getting over for spring, and now, we’re supposed to start getting snow again this week. I’m just not ready! But then, I’m never ready for snow — I don’t like it one bit.

In goat news, we found all our babies from this year good homes. Three of them actually went to be therapy goats for a little boy with autism! I’m so proud of our babies ...

Free Butter Churn Download, Dresden Drama from Canadian Needle Nana

All quiet at the wooden house. Lovely sun yesterday and we both did work outside.  Hubby bought a new chain saw so had to give it a try out.  Lots of dead wood around the property to practice on.

Are you like me in this regard?  Find it hard to think of whatever you are using for a "design wall"- in my case, a fuzzy backed plastic tablecloth as a design wall.  It seems a bit pretentious for me to use that term but I do because then everyone knows what I'm talking about. Fabric grabbing wall doesn't ...

Zoo Babies Quilted Wall Hanging Pattern from The Joy of Sewing...and Quilting, Too!

Zoo Babies Quilted Wall Hanging Pattern
My newest quilt pattern is now available at www.craftsy.com. This darling quilt is perfect for a zoo-themed nursery or child's room, complete with nine of the most popular animals at the zoo. Meet Ellie Elephant, and Lucas the Lion, along with other favorites, including Penny Penguin and Molly Monkey, all done up in easy fusible machine applique. Although there are lots of pieces for each animal, their size is deceiving in the quilt illustration, since the blocks finish at 9" square within the sashed quilt top. Make it to use as ...
