 Ik was al druk doende ganzen te fotograferen toen mijn oog viel op deze Houtsnip die veel dichterbij aan het foerageren was. Bijna over het hoofd gezien!

Nou stond de IJssel de afgelopen anderhalve week zó hoog dat het Worpplantsoen onderwater liep.

While we were gone away this Moth Orchid which has lived as a foliage-only plant in our bathroom for the past few years sent up a flower stalk! I was shocked and amazed. Maybe we need to leave home more often! I don't do anything special except water it every week; once a month I sprinkle a few crystals of orchid food into the watering solution but that's it. I had NO  very little hope of it ever

Maar je kan het sowieso al heel simpel een beetje anders maken...zet m op z'n kop!

En zo goedmoedig als de standaard sneeuwpop er qua uitstraling uitziet, zo nors maar ook hip ziet de volgende sneeuwpop er uit... als een hippe punker.

Yesterday's post about Gregory finishing up his Star Wars quilt was only accompanied by a few photographs. There was no shortage of them, choosing which ones to post was the hardest. Gregory is high energy and taking breaks, frequently, was part of the strategy to get everything done. At one point I happened to look up and realized that there was a standoff occurring on the cutting table! I

Welcome! Mr. Snowman is all quilted, bound and is guarding the door to the sewing room for the winter months. This was a wonderful Country Threads pattern to stitch up, you can find it here. I used a straight-line quilting approach for a quick and easy finish. Somehow I made twice as many flying geese units than I needed (?!!), they were relegated to the back. And, speaking of people at the door.

 Vanmorgen was ik lekker vroeg op, op mijn vrije dag en nam mijn fototoestel mee toen ik ging wandelen.

Met een paar minuten was ik op de dijk en vanaf daar kun je goed ver weg kijken en heb je mooie luchtpartijen.

Omdat het ook toen nog onder nul was, kon ik de mooi berijpte planten ook even kieken!

Bij de zwemkolk waren mooie riethalmen en bomen die een mooi contrast en silhouet vormen tegen de lucht.

En daar komt het zonnetje nèt boven de ...

Wie had immers kunnen bedenken dat 2020 zich ook zo gedenkwaardig zou voltrekken....

Maar omdat iedere start weer een nieuw begin betekent van iets onbekends start ik met drie foto's die mij hoopvol stemmen:

 Soms moet je eens uit je comfort zone qua kleurtjes... en dat deed ik met deze shawl! Want geel, bruin en oranje zijn nou niet bepaald mijn kleuren. En toch ging ik voor deze toverbal bol. Die ik dan weer wel combineerde met een roze-paarse bol.

In de hut had ik heel veel moeite om mijn camera scherp te stellen en helaas pas thuis kwam ik er achter dat er een instelling verkeerd stond. Dom! Helaas zorgde dat er voor dat een heeeel groot deel van mijn foto's van slechte kwaliteit waren. Gelukkig nog wel een paar redelijk goede zoals deze ...

I thought I'd share the UFO show and tell with you today.

Last year, I started a UFO club. Each person paid a fee to join the club and then put some money in the kitty that they would get back once they finished their assignment for the month. Each person gets to choose how much or how little they do, depending on their schedule for that month. This is what we woke up to this morning ..... we are so tired of snow!  Still, snow or rain is welcome because we didn't have a whole lot of snow over the winter and the prediction for forest fires this summer is real.  Still ...... 

In case any of you are wondering what the flags are for, they are there to indicate that bulbs were planted in the fall and we should start to see some spring flowers coming up .... hopefully!  LOL  The flags will stay there until we finish doing whatever planting has been done and then that should ...
