What's in this Bag? from Romany Quilting

It's time to move on with whatever is in this bag.  You may remember that when my great wardrobe malfunction happened some time ago, I discovered all sorts of long forgotten projects, including this bag.  And I promised myself that once my serious secret sewing was completed (5 quilts in total) I would work on this bag.  It contains two projects, string pieced blocks, and some chickens.  I'll tackle those string blocks first, I decided.

Winter Solstice from Romany Quilting

It’s the winter solstice here – the shortest day and the longest night.  You know what that means – it’s time to change the seasonal quilts.  Down came the Autumn wall-hanging, to be replaced with Welcome Winter.  I know we don't have the hardship of snow on the ground where we live here in New Zealand, but I rather like this little wintry piece.  It was a kit sent to me by my quilting penfriend from South Dakota.

Hello Spring from Romany Quilting

My slow stitching lately has been working on Hello Spring.  I wanted to stitch a small seasonal wall-hanging – I already had one for Autumn and another for Winter and they hang on the wall by our front entrance.  The words were originally stitched in a springy yellow colour, but it didn't really show up enough.  Nothing for it but to remove them and re-stitch with black thread.  The stitching is done on a pale green fabric, which doesn’t really show up in the photo at all.  This design is an adaptation of something similar which I found on ...
