Applique Snap Tabs from Becca's Crazy Projects

I shared this fun fabric earlier in the week. Those round motifs begged to be put onto a snap tab. I sat down with my embroidery software and got to work. I already had the round snap tab design from my previous project with the D20 so I all I had to do was sort out the applique portion of the design.
First I measured the outline of the motif and tried to add the applique portion. It turned out too small so I tried a couple more times.
I did manage to get it to this point, which is ...

Bravo Zulu, Coast Guard! from Becca's Crazy Projects

I've been continuing to work through the tutorials for my embroidery design software. It's slow going and I'm sure I'm only using part of what the software is capable of. I am learning, though.

I've had this design on my mind for a while now. If you aren't a sailor, or you don't know one, this might not make any sense. The two flags are Bravo and Zulu.
Bravo Zulu indicates a job well done. I wanted to tell a fellow sailor I thought they had done a good job on a recent ...

Monday Blog Oops! from Becca's Crazy Projects

It seems I wrote a bunch of blog posts on Sunday and didn't bother to post a single one for today. Here is my oops post with some random stuff so you know I am still madly making.

I went a little crazy making things with vinyl. Hand sanitizer holders were a big part of my week.
I'm nearing the end of this crochet project made with Red Heart It's a Wrap.
I'm still working on my upgraded thread rack. I don't expect this one to be a quick finish.
I cleaned off my cutting ...

More Little Embroidery from Becca's Crazy Projects

When I saw this design from Designs by Little Bee I was pretty sure it would come home with me. Noting says classy like a poop holder for your hand sanitizer. The design comes in two sizes which is great!
I stitched up a couple and I think they came out pretty great!
Then, I had an idea! I thought stitching a silly monster face onto the holder would be great. I still think the idea is great even if the execution isn't so great. This one is my first try. I decided it needed some modification to the ...

Embroidery Design - D20 from Becca's Crazy Projects

I've had my embroidery machine and design software (5D Embroidery). I have played with it off and on over the years but it has frustrated me because it doesn't operate like other drawing software (such as Inkscape or GIMP). I decided I wanted to design something badly enough to struggle with the software until I got it do what I wanted.

First I went to find some appropriate art. This is one of the many images available on Game Icons.net. If you're looking for some simple vector graphics to use in game design you should really ...

Stitching Up In The Hoop from Becca's Crazy Projects

I can't stop stitching up these great snap tab designs from Designs by Little Bee embroidery. This is the Mini Sugar Skull on a dark blue marine vinyl.
I love these bigger Sugar Skull Snap Tabs, too. These were stitched on glitter vinyl, my favorite. I've ordered more glitter vinyl because it is just so awesome!
The Vintage Camper and that Maneki Neko are awesome, too.
I picked up some new vinyl colors from the local fabric store. These are going to be fun, too. When the My PunkBroidery order shows up I'm going to be stitching ...

Beauty and the Beast from Becca's Crazy Projects

I've been working on a bag pattern off and on for years.

It uses minimal hardware. The cutting is straightforward. (This means there are no pattern pieces, all the cutting is done with a rotary cutter and ruler.)
Construction is not complicated and easily accomplished in an orderly fashion. The bottom is covered in vinyl to protect those bottom corners.
It has a zippered pocket on the back of the bag to hold you wallet for quick access.
It has a top zipper that opens all the way. Inside it has three pockets to help you stay organized. Each ...

Geeky Bag from Becca's Crazy Projects

While writing this post, I realized I made my last handbag in July 2016. It was time for a new one.

I've had this computer/electronics themed fabric hanging around for a while. I had intended on making a couple geeky knitting project bags, but decided a new purse would be way better. I grabbed my (somewhat questionable) notes on the last bag I made and got busy.
This is my own pattern, designed around the features I like in a bag and more than a few tricks I've learn along the way. I prefer a cross-body bag ...

Holly-day Jiffy Jacket

At the Original Sew & Quilt Expo last fall, I stopped at Jennifer Amor's booth and picked up this jacket-from-a-sweatshirt pattern and kit.  I've been wanting to try and make a jacket from a sweatshirt.  I thought this pattern was cute, but what I really liked was that she had a kit available  All of the materials where already precut, and included ...
