Finding myself from Quilt in Piece

Greetings, in the name of Christ! This past week, I was asked to write a short biography on myself…hahaha right! And so I went on an adventure of writing something about myself, not a pleasant adventure I might add. The memories came flooding back and the nostalgia was overwhelming. I starting digging through all my old folders of photos, and news articles, reports and stories I wrote. Greetings in Christ! We are fast approaching the Day of Pentecost, in just one week, which will end the Season of Eastertide. And I find myself reflecting upon the texts from our readings from Ascension day, including tomorrow’s readings. For many, the lockdown has been a trying time for many reasons, and there is no end in sight. People are hungry, cold, sick, dying, lonely, depressed, losing jobs, struggling financially and this all includes the church communities. Homily based on the Gospel of John 14:15-21 from Quilt in Piece

Jesus & the Comforter During this time of the Covid 19 crisis, there are a lot of people who feels lonely, discomfort and even possibly, let down by the circumstances we are in. This morning in our Gospel reading, we hear Jesus comforting his apostles – he has equipped them and now he must leave them, he feels their disquiet, uncertainty and he comforts them.
