Good morning, my friends. Our air quality continued to suck yesterday. According to our local newspaper, Portland has the worst air quality on the planet right now.

Good morning, my friends. Well...the best laid plans, you know. When we decided to take our boat out, it was a beautiful day with sunshine and blue sky. Yesterday...not so much. It was terribly smoky in our world. I read in our local newspaper that Portland was in the world's top 10 for worst air quality. It's a dubious distinction to be sure. Here's a picture that accompanied the article. Yikes.
And we could see smoke in the air where we were. So, we decided to stay in with the A/C turned on for ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. It was my monthly pedicure day, and so there wasn't a lot of time left in the day for sewing. Still, I managed to finish up the quilting on the Kittens, and I had about 45 minutes to spend on the Lemurs...a good day, all in all. Starting with the Kittens, just the outer border remained.

Good morning, my friends. There wasn't a lot on yesterday's to-do list, which left me plenty of time to get distracted with trip planning. We're planning a trip to South Dakota and Colorado next year (that's fall of 2027). When I noticed a destination we could add to our trip, I got completely immersed in re-routing an itinerary I'd already planned, as I am wont to do. When I looked at the clock, it was after lunch time. Oy. Oh well. Onward. (Honestly, I have as much fun planning a trip as I have when ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. There was a lot to do in the kitchen yesterday, and so I went straight to work on that before I did anything else. First, I wanted to try another method with the Granola Cups. We really like these a lot for breakfast, and I think I've finally hit on the magic formula. This was my fourth attempt.

Good morning my friends. It was a productive day yesterday. There were about a half dozen simple to-do's on my list, and I had everything done by lunch time. After that, I could get back to my sewing with no interruptions...except to let cats in and out. If you know cats, then you know they are always, always, always on the wrong side of the door.
My first stop was the garden to check the beans. It was the first day I didn't have to redirect any of them. I harvested two more zucchinis and another tomato ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. Camping is fun. Getting back to normal is also fun. We had grocery shopping to do yesterday, but we were finished and home before noon. Earlier, I had time to stitch up Tiny Treasure #70. This one has stem stitch, stem fill, lazy daisy, and fishbone stitches.

Good morning, my friends. It was an all slow-stitching day yesterday, and I was able to finish off two quilts. Yay me! Before any sewing could be done, though, I wanted to do some things outside. Thunder and lightning were in our forecast, and so there was no time to waste. The lightning never materialized, as far as I could tell. Later in the afternoon, we had one big thunder clap, and that was all. It rained off and on, but really, nothing to write home about weather-wise. (You'll note that I am writing about it, however.)

read moreGood morning, my friends. It turned into a pretty good day yesterday. We were expecting quite a bit of rain. It was gray and cloudy when we left home, but dry. We had our breakfast, ran our errands, did our grocery shopping, and had it all put away before noon. And then, it turned into a pretty nice afternoon with sunshine for most of the day. Today we're expecting more rain. If the forecast is to be believed, we'll have thunder and lightning by this afternoon. We're keeping our fingers crossed we won't lose power. A ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. Its been nice to indulge in the peace of some slow days over the past week. With Mike’s cataract surgeries, and my asthma attack of the previous week, it was good to have a breather. (Pun totally intended.) Yesterday morning, I started on a new embroidery piece. This is Block 8 of 9 for the Le Jardin project. Not much color so far, but it’s coming.
