Quiltcon 2024- Jacquie Gering from Moda Lissa

A lecture that I attended at Quiltcon that I cannot stop thinking about is the one by Jacquie Gering. I should have known there was going to be something specail happening in that room, just by the size of the line. The line went round and round through every nook and cranny of the convention center. They even had to open a satellite ballroom area at the hotel next door to hold everyone. It was so inspiring and a therapy session on why we quilt.

Modern Design Lab Invitational Show from Flying Parrot Quilts

I posted recently about the mini quilt that I made for the Modern Design Lab’s Invitational Show, and the show is now open! You can view the online gallery here, and if you’re in the Greenville area, you can make an appointment to view the show in person.

I have three quilts in the show; the first is the mini quilt based on the photograph of the Greenville textile mill:

UQSM is a huge machine quilting show that is held in Salt Lake City, only 10 miles from my house. Of course, it has been cancelled this year. (Read last year’s post.)

When it started, the owner of the quilt store at the time, Julie, was involved in long-arm quilting, and had taught me and another co-worker to quilt. The show was begging for quilts!
