Resolutions from Moda Lissa

We are a month into 2024. I don’t usually make resolutions. I don’t pick a word for the year.

But I have done something quilty each year. The majority of the things listed below are very predictable for me but I did concentrate an entire year on each. This all started several years ago with my self proclaimed, Year of the DOT, polka dot. I put a polka dot fabric on the back of every quilt I made that year. I am still a huge fan of using dots wherever I can.

the year of the polka-dots

It's 2024 already?!? from twiddletails

The older I get, the quicker time seems to fly by.

I took stock of all my UFOs like I usually do at the beginning of the year. I have 5 more projects than I had at the start of 2023! Not good!

The plan for 2024 is to work on the projects that are closest to completion in order to shorten this list, but there are SO many distractions!

This was my biggest accomplishment for 2023. It was Sarah Fielke's 2023 BOM. I may actually quilt this!

New projects for 2024:

2024 Looking Forward from Patchwork Sampler Blog

This is the time of year when many people set resolutions and select words of the year. Historically I haven’t done either of those, but this year I resolve to get rid of my flannel fabric and my word of the year is “scraps.”

Even though I regularly use flannel for donation quilts, there is still a lot in my stash. It is bulky and takes up way too much room on the shelves. Because of the bulk, I don’t like to use it for intricate piecing so the quilts I make from it are kind of boring ...

2021 Is Here! from Queen of the Unfinished Projects...

Yes, I know. I'm behind. I'm always running behind these days, trying to play catch-up.  But the end of 2020 is something I feel like celebrating. So far, this year is off to a great start.

My family grew a little this month (Welcome beautiful little one! We adore you and we all plan to smother you with hugs and kisses as soon as you're ready for it!). I've done all the boring year-in-review chores and made notes on the upcoming year. My kids and I have all decided to try and learn something new this ...

Endings and Beginnings from Bayou Quilts

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season and that the New Year will be full of good things!

I'm behind again with correspondence, but loved all the Christmas cards that arrived in the mailbox this year.  Beautiful cards and funny cards and photo cards (it is always fun to see the yearly changes in kids!)

Outgoing Mail in late Dec. and early Jan.

Happy New Year 2020 from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's a new year and a new decade! How the heck did that happen? I still remember back to the new millennium and how everyone expected computers around the world to die at midnight!

I had a quick peek back at what I did last year - not much exciting - quilting - same old thing! But it makes me happy and I'm OK with that!

Last year, I was also madly trying to finish up those 100 projects in the year. I didn't keep a list this year. I did start, although I got busy and forgot to keep ...
