Quilted Pocket Organizer from Expect Moore

When Mr. Domestic asked if I’d be part of his blog hop showing off his new line of Aura fabrics with Art Gallery Fabrics, of course I said yes and started thinking of how I wanted to use these pretty fabrics. What I immediately decided was something simple and practical. Because while I love quilts, I have so many that sit in a chest waiting for their day in the sun. And I knew I didn’t want to do that with these beautiful fabrics. So, I created a Quilted Pocket Organizer. This is a simple wall-hanging that it ...

Skimming Stones appliqué quilt pattern from Stitch and Yarn

One day I'm going to have my own screenprint table… but for now I'm just going to enjoy the release of my Skimming Stones quilt pattern – made from swatches I screenprinted for a range of fabrics I designed. It's a great feeling knowing you've not only made a quilt but also hand printed the fabrics it's made from.

Surface design was something I had some experience with, but it's a different way of thinking to design for screenprinting, and it was a good 20 years since I'd done it previously – making sure you ...

I'm sew excited to be able to share two finishes with you today!

The first is this Little Dragon wall hanging. It was so much fun to make! I chose to make the smaller version. And backed it with this feather print I made myself on Spoonflower 100 years ago. And I added corner tabs for hanging.

Desert Blooms Quilt with BluPrint from Brown Bird Designs Quilts

I think I must be sleep walking and will be waking up from a dream at any moment… Please pinch me! I am so happy to present my newest pattern that I developed for BluPrint. I call it Desert Blooms. It expresses my great love affair with the Sonoran Desert I live in. After I created these blocks for this quilt, all I could see were the characteristics of different cacti. As I developed the pattern further, I fell in love with them and decided to name the pattern Desert Blooms because when I am hiking, I am immersed in ...

Ribbon Dance quilt from Pieced Brain

Photograph by Justin Wiard for Quilter's World. Used with permission.
I was so happy when I opened the box and saw my quilt Ribbon Dance. I had forgotten all about it as it was mailed to the publisher so many months ago. The pattern for Ribbon Dance has just been published in the Spring 2019 issue of Quilter's World - have you seen it?

The fabrics I chose for this design are by Timeless Treasures from the Angelica line (gorgeous florals) with accents from their Viola and Solid-ish collections. Ah... but wait until you see the Timeless Treasures backing ...

New Puzzle Quilt Pattern! from Selvage Blog

Here's my first finish of 2019! A fun scrap Puzzle quilt measuring 45.5" x 60." I love this one; it reminds me of good family times. I used my scrap stash for this, including that black and white polka dot fabric that finds its way into many of my quilts. My sister Eileen gave me a pack of Cotton and Steel prints that I love. This pattern also has 6 photos of other design variations for inspiration.

A New Pattern + Weekend Reading from Blossom Heart Quilts

Early last year, I was a part of my guild’s Liberty quilting bee. There were six of us, so it ran for six months and each month we made two blocks for the queen, and all our blocks were to be made predominantly with Liberty fabric. Fun!

One huge reason I love Liberty fabric is the fussy cutting potential. There are so many cute novelty prints and those with unique motifs that lend perfectly to fussy cutting. So I figured I’d put my bee to work to making me some fussy cut economy square quilt blocks for me ...

Hidden Trees quilt from Pieced Brain

This is Hidden Trees, the baby quilt I made with Christmas-themed flannels, just published in the November/December issue of Quilty magazine. It measures 38" x 46" and the blocks finish at 8". The alternating block is easy to make and adds lots of movement to the design, a perfect match to the fabric featured on the other blocks, filled with vintage toys for little children.

For this quilt, I chose the Christmas Joys flannels collection by Maywood Studio and love how it turned out. Here are the fabrics I used:

These flannels are so soft - I know of a ...

Garden Star One Quilt Pattern Re-Release from Brown Bird Designs Quilts

The Fabric

Are you ready for a blast from the past?? I found the sweetest floral line called Lemonade Sundae for this Garden Star One quilt. I love the vintage vibe of the fabric line. I feel like it’s from the thirties. My heart just sings when I look at it! Heart Flower Green is my favorite fabric from the line. There is just something about that green. I love that color so much, I even have green heels in that same color (LOL). The brilliant creator of this line is Leonie Bateman; she designs for Penny Rose Fabrics ...

CMM October Blocks from My Quilt Infatuation

We are in the home stretch, y'all!  After this month, I can't believe that we only have the snowball and flying geese filler blocks left, and then it will be time to put our quilt tops together.  With my love of all things scrappy, it is no wonder that the blocks for this month are two of my favorites in the entire quilt.

The Curved Log Cabin block is the first for this month.  The Log Cabin quilt block is one of the oldest traditional quilt blocks, and with lots of different layout options it can be used ...
