Barn Quilt Love from Quilt Doodle Doodles

I'm not real sure when my love of barn quilts began, but I know I usually scream out 'BARN QUILT!!!' every time  I spot one on a road trip. I even see them around the suburbs here in the cities, like when I drive out to my son's place in Chaska, I spot a few here and there and I love them! And now that I know where they are, I look out for them. On our way to St. Louis last spring, our drive to market went a little quicker with the spotting of some barn quilts ...

Pattern Collab with Martina Latimer from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Hey makers!

I hope you’re having a swell week so far. Today, I wanted to give the spotlight to a pattern maker we recently collaborated with. Her name is Martina Latimer and she currently resides in Brisbane, Australia. She has travelled the world and explored a variety of careers but like many of us, her urge to create lead her to quilting.

Martina recently released her JOY quilt pattern and it’s all about her many experiences and  travels through life. Here’s a little bit about Martina’s journey to making the JOY quilt.

“My childhood passion for ...

Isn't it awesome? And to think this is a simple rail fence quilt!

rail fence quilt block

Created for two sizes, lap or twin, I made the lap size. This quilt finishes at 63" x 81 1/2", plenty big for two to snuggle under ...

Smitten Kitten from Sew Fresh Quilts

Introducing Smitten Kitten! It was over two years ago that I shared the Dog Gone Cute and I can't believe it has taken me this long to come up with a cat pattern that would be it's equivalent. But for me it was worth the wait and I couldn't be happier with these sweet kittens!

Here you can see the Smitten Kitten quilt hanging out on the hay wagon in front of the bean field and with the beautiful blue sky in the background.

The kittens were made using a fat quarter bundle of the Daisy Days ...

New Release: Back and Forth Baby Quilt Pattern from Goer

I'm pleased to announce that my first self-published pattern is available on Craftsy! Last Fall, I designed the Zoom Zoom quilt that I gave to our 4-year-old friend who had just become a big brother. The race car fabric was from my stash and I designed the cuddle quilt to feature the fun print. From that design I created the Back and Forth baby quilt pattern for you. This new version features Guppies for Lunch by Michael Miller Fabrics and coordinating Kona Solids. It would also be lovely featuring a different novelty or floral print.

The Back and Forth ...

But anyway, you can now go download the pattern yourself from the AccuQuilt Australia blog.

The 8″ version features some pastel colours as usual, this time Riley Blake Medium Blue and Michael Miller Cloud from the Solids Club provided by Jules at The Creative Retreat, with Kona Ash for the ...

Directional Quilt in Love Patchwork & Quilting 52 from Blossom Heart Quilts

It’s always such a happy day when a beloved quilt gets returned to you! Even if I was away and had to wait a few days until I got back home to unwrap and snuggle it once more…

Sunshine flying geese quilt in Love Patchwork and Quilting by BlossomHeartQuilts.com

Photo by Love Patchwork & Quilting

Directional is the kind of quilt that I love to make. It starts with a sudden idea of a quilt block, becomes a sketch, and suddenly I have to make it right now. But before I did, this simple and modern quilt design was one I thought Alice (the editor of Love Patchwork & Quilting) might like ...
